  1. Villain at Geauga Lake. This its last year of operating, so cant vouch for how it may have been, but to this day roughest wooden I've experienced. I was actually scared on it, like....for my safety. Was just brutal. I have a good tolerance and like when a wooden is a rough too! That was something else. Though honorable mention to GASM at SF over GA. Looks nice, glad its still there but holy cow... Steel? Oh that's tough. Needless to say some arrow loopers were awful and yeah know: Vekoma SLC For the sake of something different, I had a totally **** ride on Flight of Fear at KI. This I didn't expect, KD's wasn't bad at all. This one left me with a headache so bad I needed to get advil and lay down. For a ride w lap bars!
  2. I rode Skyrush opening day. The restraints were a bit rough but the feeling went away in like 30 seconds. I get every body is different but 1 Im not the most in shape guy so not like I can say thats part of it 2 people were griping how it liked ruined their day and all. Cmon..... Next year I believe they softened the restraints and indeed 4 rides I felt near nada (at least nothing that bad, obvs you'll feel some impact when a ride is just that intense). I am never this guy but this one time reeeeeaally gotta ask "is it really THAT bad/are people just dramatizing it?" Anyway, better late than never but tomm or Fri finally doing my first park of the year and it'll be Hershey What has the park been like in terms of crowds? Less crowded than usual? Are ops slower due to new protocols and negates it? Crowds heinous as normal? Do all rides operate etc? No I dont wanna make this a thing and no I got zero issue (and wont get into it) about wearing masks and attempts to distance etc so none of that, I just am trying to be aware of what to expect and maximize my experience OH! I got a 2nd day free, anyone know how that works? Do I use the same ticket # online and just schedule a 2nd day when I feel like?
  3. 1: Steel Vengeance 2: M Force (FIGHT ME ABOUT IT well no bc IDC what crap ya got to say lol) 3: Maverick 4: TTD 5: Magnum 6: Wicked Twister (IDC love it always have. I mean dont wait long for it, but its just fun) 7: Raptor (good stuff but it just never wow'd me much as it's "supposed to" and it is kinda jarring these days) 8: Gatekeeper (back row only. I always got decent "pull" on it though the 2nd half can fizzle out, and if ya get a breeze at you oof I deff felt like it was not gunna make it lol) 9: Gemini 10: Iron Dragon 11: Valravn (dang shame it's pretty great to the MCBR its **** after.) 12: Rougarou 13: Cedar Creek Mine Ride (meh but watcha expect) 14: Blue Streak (meh) 15: Corkscrew (only ride I actually DISLIKE there, don't think I've bothered in 10 years now) Its worth the trip every year. What a line up. Literally bottom tier coasters here would be top tier in other places.
  4. I was admitted into a Graduate Program at Brown University (yeah this fool who rambles about roller coasters and doesn't bother with grammar on the internet somehow got the Ivy League to take him....and I didn't even bribe anyone!) Needless to say am super stoked, and I've already moved from FL to NJ for this month and Aug 1 I move to Providence, RI After years of feeling stuck and NO avenue I tried panning out, finally gunna make the career changes I want. OH and its nice to be back where a ton of parks are within 4 to 8 hours, unlike FL where it was 4 to the nearest
  5. I plan to! One trip I had to cancel can't be done a later date, so I got a free flight to use basically and was thinking of CA later this year. Why not X2? If you haven't, gotta least give it a try! I still am not sure quite how I feel about it, but it's an experience. I did greatly prefer the S&S free spin though. Good point Robb, a downer to think about but we do have to prepare for that possibility. To the chagrin of many all these parks are "corporations" even the small family ones we love. They aint charities run for us lol (though I wish!)
  6. Wonderful! Kudos again on the immense work to produce these results, I like many I am sure, deeply thank you for doing it. Wow. I am so glad I am finally getting to Lightning Rod! And shoot, I really should take the much shorter trip to Orlando to hit the Fun Spots. I guess it all depends how one considers a ride "bad" I take an unorthodox approach I admit, but I think few rides are "bad" they can be "meh" but to go into dislike territory for me it needs to be more than bleh....slow, boring, etc it needs to provoke a negative feeling. Thus I don't have LC Wildcat or the infamous Grizzly low on my list. They don't suck, they just aren't good, or even anything. Of course it's about the collective opinion! Can't wait to ride MaxxForce, SC and hopefully get them added to next years! Oh and what matters most is: Big Apple is still awful s**t The one universal of coasterdom
  7. Please shut up unless you can provide sources for these false claims. Spreading misinformation is one of the worst things you can do and judging by your post history you're not exactly qualified to be making such claims. It sucks, we're all bummed, it is what it is. No moaning or questioning scientists/those more qualified will change it. While this case is extreme...in general we have chosen a hobby that is prone to things like weather that at any time can ruin things. All we can do is deal. It seems SF and CF parks are reopening April, its not THAT far away. I just hope they commit to this and things dont get pushed back farther. As its been pointed out tickets may be cheap, flights are cheap too. We can just wait and try to take advantage when things reopen. Oh and listen to experts. I had 0 worry over Ebola, Zika, past outbreaks bc the health experts always stressed no need for concern. This time they have been. So it's that simple. Its just a hobby, we will live.
  8. Well, my plans for April 10th weekend have been shelved. I realized somewhere that's driving distance, open, and would make my Cedar Fair Platinum pass to even more use. Carowinds! I shall be going April 10. So stoked. Worth it for Fury alone.
  9. Yikes, and some Americans wonder why others think we're so selfish and entitled and cruel. That's not super accurate, each new person can get to others, that's the point of containing. So less who do, less it spreads, more who do more it spreads. It lasts a few weeks not forever...so with containing we can limit the spread. So we do NOT let get as bad as it will. I mean, China not just contained but its been reducing there. So clearly it CAN be limited. If one wants to debate if such measures should be taken fine but can't just say "oh well its pointless so screw it" besides, yeah you and I will surely be fine but I'd like to NOT spread to others and make em sick, and if an 80 year old was to get it from me (I live in FL btw!) and die.....that's pretty horrible and irresponsible. Like I'm fine, great, but I can carry it, and what can I say, I'd like it not get to an 80 year old who might die *shrugs* Thankfully, I don't expect too many 80 year olds at the parks, so if they stay open I do plan to go, wash my hands constantly, and if my work closes and all that....hopefully try to enjoy the time with some drives to some parks
  10. Oh yeah, it's not the virus. Even if I, or lots of us, were to get it, while it will be pretty crappy I'm not like concerned for my health. Its all the shutdowns and etc People are concerned about the stock market...that's just the traders, once more places close, possible domestic travel stoppage, I don't see how a recession won't hit Just now the City of Tallahassee cancelled an event, its a big one. Prob millions lost there. Ya nailed it, this will be a rough time
  11. Got the Cedar Fair email they are staying open and taking precautions etc etc I hope so! Just got my platinum pass! And on a serious note, one of my trip plans go shelved, so figured I'd use the time to go to Carowinds so really hope it stays open. I am worried though because as mentioned in here, all types of places are closing. FSU and colleges here have gone online and its inevitable all schools close, and quite likely the state/county/city agencies (where I work). If they pay us, I'll gladly take a few week paid vaca! But it'd be nice if the parks are open.
  12. BGT assuming IG is open before May. But all has been booked for my 1st ever trip to Dollywood, and TN, in mid May and beyond stoked!
  13. Sooooo is there any slight guess when Sandy's will be operating? Like by Sept?
  14. Dont care what anyone says, looks cool and I'm excited to ride
  15. I am all for what needs to be done, ya know some things, like public health, are more important than my hobby. That said, I really hope things don't get to the point of domestic flights being shut down, or parks. As it spreads inside the US, I do fear it's only time before domestic flights are shelved. I don't have any until July but I also hear it's "unrealistic" to think it'll be done by then
  16. Time off approved, trips planned and flights cars hotel etc starting to be booked. Its on! Dollywood - Mid May KW, CP for 2 days, KI in July SFGAdv, Hershey, Lake Compounce (maybe that mall shall see) with KD and BGW on the way up and down in Sept SWSA, SFFT, SFoT in Oct Should be well over 50 new creds and lots of good ones
  17. Great report! I was lucky to catch the Wine & Food fest before and wow, what an experience. Great photos! I will be going to the Tool show (judge me all ya want) April 19 in Tampa, hoping this will be open by then! A huge RMC so close is driving me nuts
  18. Looks incredible, I can not wait to ride this. Its my most anticipated new ride this year
  19. I'll be here in Oct, so prob dont gotta worry about huge lines. This ride is simple but looks super fun. I'm pretty excited.
  20. Good to know, thanks all! Good thing, as things work out I will have to go here on a weekend in July. Kinda dreading it but it is what it is, and fast pass will help.
  21. Thanks all! I heard good things about Chattanooga but yes, originally the plan was Knoxville. We shall see, regardless excited to finally be going!
  22. Looks like May (early to mid) is when I shall finally go here, so stoked Expecting low crowds on a weekday then. Heard nothing but rave things, and Im excited to try the area as well, never been to TN Anyone got suggestions for: Chattanooga, Gatlinburg, and what is the best alpine coaster around as I hear there's a few
  23. Ouch. Im rooting for this place, potential is the key word it is all soooo close and tbh their lineup looks real solid! I am dying to ride TMNT, Sandy (if it opens!?) and half pipe and the spinner look fun. I want this to work out but it really does feel uphill and do we know the investors? This whole thing feels like either some shady Russian investor using this as a $ stash OR some people in the hole are squeezing what they can before it folds lol That said I'll surely go in Sept, but dang it kills me it's so costly. I really wanna do those few rides, a pay-per/ride package deal would be superb
