  1. Missed this! Good thing there's still a couple of days left. Good thing, 2019 was my biggest year in terms of # as well as new rides and quality. Got some thinkin to do
  2. Well...it opened for 2019 lol Hope the wait was worth it for a moderate version of 2 rides they already have This is the most 6 flags ride ever. To think Texas Stringray is already starting to test! But hey maybe WCB 2020 now that this actually opened? And I do like the physical look of it. Cool looking ride. Glad to hear there are at least 1 or 2 whippy moments. Is there any air at all? POVs can be so tough to judge but it looks like a few are taken at good speed.
  3. I clicked on the "Park Alerts" thing on the home page in the little black bar and it opens a popup but I have no idea if this information is right and knowing this place it's probably not. Thanks! Will be sure to check that out. Hell, its already a packed trip seeing people, going to NYC etc You're right 2 rides are still not yet open. So looks like there's Shellraiser, a spinning ride and a family. For $60??? Pay for parking. Yikes. I really hoped for a pay for ride deal. I was willing to shell out prob more than I should for the creds but nah... When I visit next year maybe then if more is open
  4. So you drove there for for "all our tailgates" but can't stand to drive there for a quality indoor amusement park? Also, the traffic loading and unloading an 80K capacity stadium is much different than that generated by a mall/entertainment center. If you're really concerned, just avoid a game day. I fully expect that once this is fully open, the mall (and local tour agencies) are going to do a lot more to get the tourist market in. I'm not sure why New Jersey residents would rather see this fail, have all of their tax money be a waste, and again have a giant abandoned building on the side of their highway than be glad to enjoy an entertainment center without peer in the area. Good thing the region has plenty of New Yorkers and 60-something million tourists a year! Well I AM going thought that was clear, and I deff do NOT want it fail, I also thought that was clear, so strike 2. Good thing ya ended the comment there before the full strike out! Also glad to see the comments oscillate between horrible despair and horrible over defensiveness....gotta dig the enthusiast community sometimes Anywho thanks to the reasonable responses! Yeah Bill the site really is awful. Where are yall seeing what is open or not? Maybe Im In the wrong place, on the site I saw Shellraiser as "opening soon" And hey, I hope to god its all sorted with time. Despite what some here feel I would love for this to succeed. This would be closer to me than GreatAdv and since I often go home in winter when parks are closed/Im not going Id love for this to be an option. Just thus far I see nada to give me confidence.
  5. I love it. If the POV is accurate it could be a fairly compact ride with some nice air. I like the shuttling aspect too, looks like a fun solid ride. I've not been here in ages. Kraken was the only coaster. It was quite good though. With the good reviews I hear about Manta and Mako, now this...SeaWorld may have one solid lineup. Would say it may take best in FL BUT there is a huge RMC opening not so far away. But yeah good year for FL parks.
  6. Oh it's an absolute joke imo. That they tried this thing 1: at a time when malls are dying 2 after SO many years (I was in HS so we're talking pre 2006 and this project was being worked on.... not to mention its ugly not finished eyesore sitting there at all our tailgates) they still pressed on 3 the area is indeed a bad area logistically, the thought of driving here makes me ill 4 I heard there were issues like it opened but not all the permits were secured... Honestly all this is the only reason I "want" to go, I fully expect this will fail and went to get on the steepest coaster on Earth while I can, esp since I've heard it (or Takabisha) is pretty good. On that note...last I heard this ride wasn't even open after it opened... the site (which gives me no hope) says opening soon....is Shellraiser even open? I agree I want this to succeed as well. Who wouldn't? Esp for us locals/those who visit yearly it'd be cool to pop over here. Just it does seem doomed to fail
  7. Yes! Been waiting for this...2019 has been my biggest year in terms of quantity and quality of new rides. Have to get sorting.
  8. Oh I deff would consult the site before going! I was shocked this place even opened at all and the website......does not fill me with confidence But hey, its literally a few miles up the highway from me, so IF its open since I'll be in the state, worth a quick stop. If it isn't running well no loss. Pretty sweet deal.
  9. So $12 per ride? No fun yeah, but not really unheard of... And hey I'll be there in 3 weeks so hey better go while there's the opportunity before it does shut down! When the hell else will I get to ride Takabisha? I'll tell ya, I wont. So I ok with it
  10. Oh this has opened? Well I'll be in NJ in a few weeks I figure it'll be open? The idea of a Takabisha like half an hour away and indoors is so wild
  11. Yes, nice park. Great "feel" lots of greenery, it was a nice place but unlike many "smaller" parks this has quite a large selection of rides. Not just coasters but yeah many great flats. Oh the length of Cannibal was no issue just wish it was a bit longer, my only real knock though is just the trims. Deff did hit hard, just a shame it cause ya can notice and oh the epicness of flying around that element at such speed. That said I was unsure how I'd feel about the ride and was deff fun. Would prob stop again at least for a few hours next time Im out there, either with someone or make sure I plan with enough time for a meet up so I can get Jet StarII
  12. Well full review to come, but it was certainly a nice park and Cannibal was interesting. Good ride, just oh if it wasn't for those trims and if it was a little longer what a knock out it could've been!
  13. It really was an awful ride. Its a tiny space not sure what the park can do with it...maybe being Six Flags they will put in an S&S free spin lol I was shocked how fun it was, and despite some crazy ass, often forceful motions, it wasn't violent, rough, painful anything! Also I have to admit WCR did look cool, but I still can't help but chuckle at (IMO) the waste it is. All that space used to make a more mild combo of 2 rides they already have. That said, FT gets hate but in back I still love it, and back row TC....just wow. Now that I've had a day to digest it I gotta say that is probably in the upper half of RMCs for me. What a ride.
  14. Also should say SFMM needs more shading given its location, or mist fans anything. I was expecting it to be awfully hot and still was shocked. My goodness it was brutal.
  15. Hey I get that. Marching band consumes life, I know I've been there! It must not be a UT only thing. Both CGA and SFDK were very quiet despite it being a weekend, and a holiday weekend. I was shocked. I hope the good people of UT decide the 7th is not a day worth going to Lagoon so I can have yet another slow day!
  16. Well yall were not kidding. The park was dead today. As in walk ons for everything, even at 3, 4 PM. Long as you were willing to take whatever row was open. At one point X2 was empty station. Will provide all my thoughts in my big CA trip summary but I will say: X2 fun ride, maybe riding front row inside seat was they key, but I didnt find it sooo bad. Actually it wasnt the roughness but the random violent jerking of the seats. But it wasnt the flips, those were fine imo, it was like the straights leading to/from. Was weird, and wish they could at least put some time of B&M flyer like leg holder, cause that really did me in: my legs flopping around and slamming. I quickly learned, like mid ride, to hold em straight but damn. THat said was fun, the drop is nuts and its very intense and forceful. Tatsu...its fun, no doubt, but IDK it wasnt superb. It reminded me of well Superman...lots of drifting around and its kinda fun but thats it, and waiting for the pretzel. T.C. oh baby. I often hear this ranked as one of the lesser RMCs or fun but less intense...no idea what on earth that's about. This ride was intense as hell. Lots of ejector, throws ya around, and people gripe about the killing of the flow. Poppycock ya just get 2 rides for one. It basically is like running back on to ride again but ya dont have to, thus making 3 rides in a row actually 6 and I was already feeling it. But yeah what a ride. And never imagined at SFMM being able to walk on, like right to a gate on every ride including Tatsu X2 and TC
  17. Yup, no pressure or obligation, I am always prepared to park it up forever alone, but if anyone will/wants to be at Lagoon Sat Sept 7, I shall be there. Ooohh....Im a bit of a car guy, the Salt Flats sounds like a damn tempting idea. I never would've thought of that. Since it seems SLC has great public transport, which also can get you from the airport to Lagoon I wasn't planning on having a car, but I may see, since I want to try and get some hiking/seeing in.
  18. Wow! Awesome! Next time I go home to NJ I will actually want to visit this place for once!
  19. I mean...I assumed the speed record from now on (if anyone broke it) was gunna be in the vein of Formula Rossa. Long and drawn out but fastest longest AND tallest? So this seems to be some kind of TTD/KK start that has actual ride after it. .......... I actually am at a loss for words Never did I imagine I'd want to go to Saudi Arabia in the future but wow
  20. IKR Its why Im kind of tempted to pull the trigger and go soon BUT I have a major trip to save for/recover AND summer crowds.... Im gunna wait till early Oct and pray the coaster gods keep shining
  21. As far as people know, has LR generally been running, historically, in early Oct? Im planning my trip finally. Though I just saw a POV of Dragonflier (won't lie didn't really bother before) and for what it is...looks kind of good actually. Anyway I'm stoked to finally get to this park.
  22. Gotta love a park where Maverick may be the 3rd best For real, there is a reason I go to the Point every year. It's simply unparalleled. Like the "OHIO" it may be the best thing on the ride lol I agree, those restraints should not be allowed on dives. I still prefer Sheikra to it simply cause ya get more feeling. Both kill all the speed with the too soon MCBR so its basically meh after that anyway. Glad ya loved SV, I was afraid I over hyped it last year in my mind but yup, its unrelenting pace and length is just something else. Its perhaps the only ride where, when on it, I legit don't know what's going on!
  23. Could've been! Wouldn't have phased me, mostly it was unexpected and funny, and a little embarrassing. In fairness, while I'm pretty personable and talkative esp at parks, I didn't really think to continue conversing with em after being called out for swearing around a child
  24. On line for Nitro, a friend and I were talking and we were carrying on as would be expected for high school age guys as we were then. These two large, absolutely cliched looking biker dudes, (the leather jackets with patches, skulls, flames, knives, bearded, tats, everything hardcore) turned to us and one said to me, in a normal gentle voice, "Can you please watch the profanity around the kid" and revealed a boy standing in front of him holding his leg. I felt bad, and bewildered, and chuckling internally all at once
