Awesome. This has me officially impressed. The hills and turns look punchier than I expected. I am super curious what it will feel like to be accelerating over a hill. And yeah right into another and the top hat with hang time...deff a sweet section. Enthusiasts are....ridiculous lol Have realistic expectations. Ya know we should expect a top tier ride or the next maverick. Likewise just because something isn't that doesn't mean people should shred it, but they will. -

Thank god! This is why I didnt post it. I was wondering how they got that July date and why I didnt see it anywhere else... Oh good, I hope they can get at least a rough-ish estimate. EDIT: The person that originally shared that news story said they mentioned to the park who actually responded and did confirm they asked the news channel to remove it, that they ran that story without asking them about it and had no idea how they came up with July. So that is hopeful -

Very cool A local friend said he heard its not likely to open until July. I never am one to trust "word on the street" esp just regular (non insider) people so anyone have any word? I was planning to go in June after Coastermania and theres no other time, so if it wont be open then I may nix KW -

Wow! First, that music selection was sick as hell. It was so weird and kinda thrashy and technical-ish. Really cool drumming. NOT what I'd expect from a coaster video. Second, that actually alleviates some of my concern. I kept telling myself the small/compact layout will work for its speed but I kept fearing itll be slow as hell...that does look like it whips over the hills and turns with more oomph than I expected! Cant wait to ride -

Oh nice, so the ride is almost complete? Im sure itll be fun, the launch will deff be nuts but what a short ride! Chose KW for Steel Curtain over this (Ill prob go 2020) but also...I kinda assumed this ride would be near done given how short it is. Look at progress on Steel Curtain or Copperhead which is done, and they have part of one element up? lol

Indeed. Wonderful park for sure but it struck me as better for groups/families and not so much a purely park experience. Like I went solo for a few hours, the goal then is just to ride and there's not exactly a lot of rides (and sadly 2 were closed including Falcon's Fury ) and while they have good diversity of coasters its not thrill seeker skewed. This will be changing over the next 2 years, will deff be the best park in FL imo (well it already is for me, just it'll be better) Yeah Kumba was nuts. I didn't expect much but good lord that was such a forceful intense ride, like from start of drop to the brakes. Shame B&M don't make em like that anymore. I also heard about it "showing its age" but even in back row I found it very smooth still. Even with the RMC I don't think Id give BGT the best non CP lineup, (prozach is right its entirely personal) but it'll be up there in my book.

I was gunna say there's no way it would be orange, the entire point of this ride, which is part of a whole new area, is the Steelers, so it has to be yellow lol Ugly or not and Im no Steelers fan it kinda has to be black and yellow But nice wishful thinking ha -

Goodness, I cant grasp just reading that, and Im very excited. I reckon it'll have good speed too, it goes up high but so much of it is low/drops to the ground. Very nice pic indeed. Anyone have any idea/educated guess on how they can run trains? Its prob not possible but I would love to see one on top one on bottom going through that part at the same time. I think the ride is kind of jarring for the park itself, even their biggie all ya see are the 2 hills, all the rest is in the ravine, its gunna be weird to have this massive ride so in your face, going over the pathway and everything. At first I too was like hmmm....this park is basically famous for being "classic" but it also looks awesome so I don't care that much lol -

Whoa looks awesome, I like the looks of that little hill after (before?) the corkscrew and what on earth is that 2nd pic? The one before the final breaks, looks like a double inversion or a dive into a stall or something wild. (I only watched the animation once when released, I like to be kinda surprised) -
True I was thinking the same thing this isn't so much taking the old and making it new, its almost an entirely new ride. Also any word on when Tigris may be opening? The GF will be going to St Pete soonish, I believe in the next 2 months, and that's usually a good time for me to scoot away to BGT. Ive always wanted to try one of these Sky Rockets so Im kind of excited actually

Yeah, I liked Volcano. It was fun, but I didn't get the hype. I probably just didn't ride it enough. Emily really liked it. I actually hope they get rid of the volcano. I think it looks ugly. Agreed all around. When I was younger it was like top 10 omg amazing, with more experience I grew to feel it was fun but not anything great. Launches and fly out the top were A+ but all the slow rolls and turns, meh. It was plodding and I always found the end disappointing, a great dive...into the breaks. I get space was limited but it kinda just built me up just to kill it. And yeah the Volcano is kind of ugly. I imagine they'd also have alot more freedom to do stuff without it there. I hope it goes as well. Besides, IDK if I want the reminder there, just have a clean break and start totally fresh -

We used it in July last year. We walked on every ride. However, be aware that there are only a couple middle rows reserved for the fast pass. I'd go for it will Steel Curtain. I wish I could say how it helped us out throughout the entire day, but after being in the park for a few hours an hour long storm moved in. The park closed for the remaining six hours, despite it being one of the most beautiful evenings of our week long PA trip. Didn't even get to ride Thunderbolt. With that being our one and only experience, we're not big Kennywood fans. $300 down the shitter. good to know. I'm hoping it wont be necessary in June but it will be a weekend... I feel ya my experience there was not so great either. Some here warned me that therides dont open till 11 so I was prepared but it was stilk kind of annoying. Nothing to do but pick a ride to wait 30 minutes for to open when really it would've been a walk on... And at least when I went not all opened at once. Racer didnt till later and some rides opened up kinda whenever as well. Was annoying and meant huge lines. Huge. I didnt get on jack rabbit as the line was massive and only had a few hours and the line was moving like a snail. Exterminator closed down and Sky Rocket was down all year so I missed half their coasters basically, and for a pricier than expected ticket and how lackadaisical the park seemed I was less than thrilled... Its closeness to Cedar Point and steel curtain is why I'm returning. -

Yeah wait times were heinous due to its capacity, honestly I only ever rode it once per visit because I never felt it was good enough to warrant the waits it usually had. Id go there right at opening to get a ride in, and that was my one for the day. Exception being ERT we had on the 2012 (?) trip. Did it 3 times that day, then no more for the rest lol it seemed that within minutes of park open it was already a massive wait. On a vaca my family took here the line for Volcano was (way) longer than Hypersonic XLC even Goes to show just cause something is a classic doesnt mean it has to stay. I just hope its replacement is awesome. No idea what could utilize the small space well, some type of eurofighter? Or maybe it can be part of something larger. -

Sad. I admit it wasn't the best ride, was kinda slow and weird after leaving the top and too short, it always bummed me out you plunged down so fast right into breaks. But it was a fun unique ride. I will miss it and feel and I haven't been to KD in years and thus my final ride feels like a distant memory now, 2012 it was. Because of that I had no idea this ride was rarely operational for 2 years now and my God were the lines heinous. I certainly dont blame KD and not like it was a top tier ride but it was a classic. Cool. I know this ride is probably already a meme but honestly I think it looks good. Dive coasters are fun...until the MCBR. Thats the only real issue. The drop is great and the immelman helix part I found quite forceful esp on Valravn like I was getting some blur vision from it! But then all that is killed by running into the MCBR and the rest of the ride is lame. FINALLY a park got it right and has a dive coaster actually do stuff before the MCBR. And a 246 ft vertical drop? That is gunna be pretty nuts. -

I am trying to temper my excitement because I do kinda fear Steel Curtain will be a flop, but I cant help myself from being excited, esp as pics are coming out. OK so Im deff going in June (I have to assume the ride will be open then). Does anyone know what crowds are like a weekend in early June? The 8th or 9th. If its expected to be crowded is there a fast pass type thing and is it worth it? I thought I saw some people using it when I went last year, and that weekend, in Sept the park was VERY crowded. So much so the lines were at a standstill for most everything and with limited time I left early having missed some of the rides there: Extermintator, Jack Rabbit and Racer which didnt seem to be running. -
