  1. I am so happy the lease is approved!!!, I am definitely going to visit!!!
  2. Honestly, I feel like a lot of people "hate" SF because everyone else does. Everyone acts like SF is a shitty chain when it's not that bad of a chain. I love SF parks, yes, they need to make many improvements on the way but they are not a bad chain at all. I've seen those same lockers at KI certain rides yet, nobody is up their ass about it. Nobody realizes, if Six Flags didn't exist, some of the amazing coasters we know wouldn't exist. I really loved the operations at Six Flags Great America, and a lot of the stuff SF does is the same stuff CF does, but people just like to hate on Six Flags. It's exactly like people hating on famous people like Justin Beiber & Michael Jackson for no reason. The things SF needs to improve on: - If the park is really crowded, please use more than one train - re-paint the coasters at SFFT & SFA ( Batwing needs a paint job more than any other ride.) - Add other rides to the parks already have a bunch of huge roller coasters, and add new roller coasters at parks that actually need them. - Stop leaving stations behind upon coaster removals. Two-Face was removed 4 years ago, and the half-demolished station is still rotting over there. - Add more themeing to the coasters. Apocalypse was great, keep up the good work! - Don't fill former ride holes with smoking areas Six Flags is a really great chain overall IMO, and they offer free admission to all their parks with a season pass. Think of it this way, if you have any SF park pass, you get in for free at all the amazing parks : SFMM, SFGAdv., SFGAm., and SFOT. I think they deserve much more credit than they are currently receiving. They have been entertaining many families for a long time, and have been making such a big effort to entertain people all over the country.
  3. Some people in my school knew about this because we are not too far from BGW, and even they were all pooped about it and said they hope they don't make it as "ghetto" as SFA.
  4. It seemed like back then SF added so many amazing new coasters to their parks yearly. Now it's the exact opposite. I feel like they learned they're lesson from SFWOA.
  5. I think if they took it slower, it could have competed with CP. They should have installed one big coaster and a family coaster in the beginning of the SF era instead of four. I honestly think CF bought the park to close it. As much as I love CF, I think they bought it to close it down.
  6. I would suggest you go on June 5th. Kids are most likely taking finals during that week, and it will be very light-crowded. Most of the rides have a 5-15 min wait with the exception of Batwing and Superman which usually have under a 45 minute wait.
  7. IKR!!!, I was just thinking that the other day. It must really suck to live in Nebraska . We are lucky to have a big amusement park near us. KD is a two-hour drive from me, and I can only make it a few times a year. I can go to SFA almost every week. IKR x2! I go to SFA about twice a month during the summer. Even after all my visits, I still find their coaster line up to be decent. Though since I go so much, it usually turns into trying to marathon Superman and Wild One (until one or the other breaks down, haha). And I've always thought that those of us who live in the Washington-Baltimore area are lucky to be in such a convenient location. We have BGW, King's Dominions, SFA, Hersheypark, Knoebels, Dorney Park, and SFGAd all within 3.5 hr drives (if you drive fast enough and manage not to hit much I-95 traffic). Hey y'all, if you're in the market for a new home, Maryland is a GREAT place to live! shameless MD plug> I tottaly agree with your shameful plug . It's awesome having those amusement parks which give you different experiences near us.
  8. OMG!!!, I did the same thing for my AP Lang class this year for our persuasive speeches' back in November. If you need any help, PM me. The kids in my class found it really interesting. What I did is showed them the difference between accidents that are at the fault of the rider (i.e.: Man falls off ROS because of failure to wear his fake legs, 17 year old decapitated and killed by Batman ride.), (although Darien Lake could have watched out for the man). Then I showed them examples of when the ride or park is at fault (i.e.: SFKK accident, Hopi Hari drop tower accident, Two-Face accident, ect). Show them that rides are safer than your car, how they are often checked, ect.
  9. It may be just an SLC, but that would be huge loss to the park. I love the Mind Eraser because it's fun, and NEVER has a long line. IKR!!!, I was just thinking that the other day. It must really suck to live in Nebraska . We are lucky to have a big amusement park near us. KD is a two-hour drive from me, and I can only make it a few times a year. I can go to SFA almost every week.
  10. Even though it's only a Boomerang, it's still exciting that SFStL is getting a new coaster. Yes, I know it's less exciting because WoF also has a Boomerang, but it's a new experience, and going to change the coaster line-up.
  11. That sucks . IMO, SFKK didn't really seem like they sucked in 09', it just seemed like it wasn't living to it's full potential. Even though the former signature coaster at the park was planned to be removed for a waterpark expansion, there was probably a good reason behind it. Maybe Kentuckyer's are more fond of water parks than roller coasters. Maybe SF was going to add a newer coaster in a different location in the future. SFI wouldn't do something that would be bad for business. Sure, if everyone was enthusiast, then they would be pretty screwed, but with most of the world being GP, they probably made the decision based on that.
  12. I do think Ed Hart has a good plan though, add to the waterpark and a new Chang replacement. However, with the waterpark taking up Chang's spot, I'm not sure where the new coaster could go. If they don't want to use Chang's old spot for the water-park, I don't think they have to. I looked on Google maps the other day, and it seems Chang's footers are still there today. Nothing for the water park expansion was ever built, and the spot can be still used for a new coaster if they want. I would also like to see a Tower of Power replacement, they could possibly put a ride similar to SkyScreamer there. I really want this park to re-open, it seemed like an awesome little park. Hart really loves that place. If they do re-open it, I will make sure I visit the park. It would be really cool if they added a B&M dive machine, that would bring life back to the park. As much as I would to see this park re-open, sometimes I just lose hope, because this has been going on since 2010. If they really try hard enough, they can make it as good as Dollywood IMO. SF looks like they did a decent job with KK too, to me it looks like the fair board was being a dick.
  13. Even if Hart does re-open the park, don't you guys think it will be hard to keep it over the years? He's investing in a lot to re-open the park, and to install a new roller coaster which I'm guessing would possibly replace Chang. Over the years, he will still need a lot of money to keep the park operating well. Do you think that the park will be as good as it was when it was still a tourist attraction?, or will it go back to the way it was from 2006-2009?
  14. Even though there may not be a law against it, I still think the man should have been arrested. It's not safe to climb a coaster, and especially a coaster like Star Jet. He was also intoxicated, and could have fell off, and God forbid died. As stupid as this may sound to you, this probably saved this guy from possibly accidentaly killing himself.
  15. Didn't Six Flags say they were going to own a park in Dubai too?
  16. That's really cool. Turkey is a really nice country, and it deserves an amusement park like this.
  17. Does anyone know if the track peices have arrived at SFStL?, or even left Texas yet?
  18. KI, KD, and CW just recently recieved big coasters. I don't know why, but for some reason, I feel like a ZacSpin will be coming to KI. I also see KBF getting the next big coaster too, I hope so because I love that park. Since ValleyFair, Michigan's Adventure, and WoF are smaller parks,I could so one of them getting the next relocated coaster. Maybe Michigan's Adventure will receive a new coaster because they got a relocated SLC from Geauga Lake in 08 or 09 I think. I honestly think Invertigo from CGA should have went to MA, or VF. I also think Firehawk and WindSeeker are thrilling rides. Firehawk has extreme hangtime, which can scare the shit out of some people, and make them thing they're going to fall off. Windseeker's height can be scary for some people too. You don't have to be scared of the big thrilling coasters, a lot of GP actually love them, and aren't scared. Most of my friends and family love coasters, excpet for my one friend who hates coasters after he rode Roar at SFA. GP and teens can be either scared of them, or in love with them. Thrilling coasters don't have to be "scary" to everyone.
  19. This is like the only unusual picture of me, lol.:
