Stupid Moves that Parks have made
ArundelHigh Coasters replied to tribar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm gonna put the blame for that one about 10% on the park, 40% on the insurance companies, and 50% on the piece of half-sentient trash that though it would be amusing to throw rocks at people on the other coaster and cost someone their eye. It's definatly 100% the riders fault. The park can't control it when guests decide to bring objects on the ride, and throw them. What is so fun about hurting people?, I just can't beleive someone actually brought rocks on the ride, and THREW them!!, that's terrible. The park should not be blamed when someone irresponsible was trusted to go on a roller coaster by themselves. They can't check rider's pockets for rocks before the ride, and they couldn't control what happened either. If someone stab's someone at a grocery store, is it at the fault of the store owner?, no, it's not. Same thing applies to this situation, when someone throw's rocks in the middle of a ride, the park couldn't control it, and it's not their fault. To prevent anything like that from happening again, it occured to them they had to discontinue dueling the coasters because not everyone is mature enough to handle dueling coasters, which furthermore does not make it a stupid move, the stupid move was the move the rider made. -

Movies, Movies, Movies.....

Saw Breaking Dawn the other day with my sister, it was really good, but I'm not going to spoil it for any of you that are going to watch it. I'm watching Matilda right now, brings back so many child memories . I love that part where Bruce Boggtrotter is eating the cake, and Mrs. Truchbowl is terrorizing him. They look like mother-and-son in that scene. -

Cedar fair didn't remove the Tidal Wave, that was during the Paramount era. The only coaster they took down was Invertigo, and that was because of reliability issues, and the media surrounding the breakdowns. I used think this park wasn't changing, but know, I understand Cedar Fair has a hard time with state/city orders, and 49'ers. I give Cedar Fair kudos for installing Gold Striker, they are really trying to improve CGA in many ways. -

SFA removing Two-Face almost four years ago, and still not replacing it, just leaving the station decaying, along with them removing most of their flats, Six Flags closing AstroWorld, and former PGA removing Stealth, and a bunch of other coasters. Another stupid thing is how SF is putting identical rides in one park, or in a park that's in the area of another park that has the similar ride: -Golaith, and Flashback at SFNE. - Six Flags La Ronde getting a SLC which has a long name that I will not bother to type, when they already have Le Vampire, a B&M Invert, which is better. -
Coolest station you've seen

Superman: The Ultimate Flight from SFDK, Batwing at SFA, (there is two stations,) Jokers Jinx at SFA, FoF at KI, and KD, and a lot of the rides at Universal Studios. This is a really good thread topic. Even though ride's are themed well, they can have plain stations, withe the exception of a few of them of course. -
As much as many people hated it, I will always miss Hypersonic XLC from KD , it was one of my favorite coasters at the park, and it was a really fun ride. If you wanna know one of the rides that bugged me, that literally made me dance with Glee, you will know it was Great American Scream machine from Six Flags Great Adventure. It was a fun ride, but it need to retire, and it was really uncomfortable.

B&M vs Intamin
ArundelHigh Coasters replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really like both. they can both make some improvements too. X-Flight at Six Flags Great America was really fun, but it felt kind of slow. I love some B&M coasters like Nitro at SFGAdv., it's very intense to me. Intamin makes these fast crazy coasters, but they always have maintenance problems. Like SkyRush at Hershey for instance, it just opened this year, yet it still had problems, and got shut down for the rest of the 2012 season in September/ early October. I will always love riding Kingda Ka & Xcelerator though., they feel intense every time I ride them. -
Age restrictions on rides?
ArundelHigh Coasters replied to andre8's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It depends, if they are mature enough. Sometimes small children can behave in an unsafe manner. My cousin was only 6 when she rode Mind Eraser at SFA for the first time. -
Amusement Ride Breakdown!
ArundelHigh Coasters replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Probably back in 2007 when the former Two-Face at SFA had it's hydraulic fluid accident. Also, that cable accident at Knott's on Xcelerator back in 2009, especially because they have an actual video of it, which looked creepy, and was a little while after I rode it. -
Horrible Park Operations
ArundelHigh Coasters replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Lol, they are mentioned a lot on the negative side. *Note to self, If I ever travel to Playland, make sure I self-check my restraints * -
Does anybody listen to Greenday?, I don't listen to them much anymore, I like their older songs better, but I heard Billie Joe's still going to be in rehab for a while

OMG, I refuse to shop on Black Friday, mainly because of the crowds. I actually went late at night on Friday after the crowds were gone so I could shop with my birthday money. I went to this very non-crowded mall , and almost EVERYTHING from the Black Friday sales were still there. I went to Hot Topic, and all the good band T-shirts were there , still at their Black Friday prices, it was amazing. I got my girlfriend a few, too. All the skinnies were still at Pac Sun, so I bought some, even though I shouldn't have because I bought a bunch before during the summer for school. Also, Game Stop still had EVERY game!!!, it was amazing, I love that mall!! . I was watching this video on the news recently from Black Friday in 2005, and when the doors opened, a lot of pedestrians were pushed to the ground, including a lady, whose wig fell off ^_^.

Lucky. I love his song 're-arrange." Another song I took liking on is this old alternative/indie song from the 80's by The Smith's called "What Difference does it make." an amazing song, make sure you listen to it ^_^. Also, anybody remember Depeche Mode?, the old indie band from the 90's, I love their song "Enjoy the Silence."

Horrible Park Operations
ArundelHigh Coasters replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Probably at Six Flags America. I remember once in 2010 on the Mind Eraser, the ride op's. were racing to the back of the train, and carelessly checked our restraints. I doubled-checked mine, and my friends myself, just to make sure they were locked. -
If your my age, you can't choose where you live ;P , which is how I ended up in Northern Maryland. (Can't wait for college .) I think a coaster enthusiast is lucky if they live near Sandusky , Ohio (Cedar Point, Kings Island,) if they live near Gurnee/ Chicago , Illinois (Six Flags Great America.) Other places would be Los Angelas ( Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm,) LA is not a very pleasant place to live though.
