  1. I saw it on YouTube, and thought it was hilarious and awesome.
  2. Maybe a concrete foundation, or possibly some dirt. For the station, a switch-back queue, some fans that work about 0.5% of the time. That's how you theme a Six Flags coaster, baby! Lol, so true. Although, I was pretty damn impressed with Apocalypse this year.
  3. How do you think they will theme Boomerang?
  4. I personally love the hangtime I get while riding Vekoma flyers. I love the sensation it gives you. I feels like your body's weight is going to break the vest restraint, which can be really scary for certain people. I love hangtime , and agree with the person who was talking about Chang's vertical loop. When I rode GL at SFGAdv. this past summer, I loved the hangtime in the vertical loop. I remember having a great feeling of hangtime on The Ring of Fire at the fair when I was little. there was also this other ride from the fair that gave me plenty of airtime, I think the manufacturer of it was the Fabbri Group, but I could be wrong. I remember the one I rode was called the Samurai, but there are similar models called Kamikaze, and Skymaster, but the Samurai gave me plenty of hangtime for a fair ride.
  5. Yeah, I totally get your point. there are more GP then there are enthusiasts. Now that I look more deeply into this, I see ME isn't going anywhere. It's not because it's NY state's only Invert, it's the amount of attention it draws.
  6. ^ I just looked up some photos of it, and it looked so cool. I just can't bare to imagine the thought of looking down on that thing
  7. Lol, when I saw this old thread bump up, I know it was because of SOB.
  8. Nice Topic SFA & BGT KI & SFstL VF & BGW Former GL& SF Mexico Sorry, I have a lot
  9. In 2003, Stealth, the former main attraction at CGA was removed for a water park expansion, so if DL removes ME for a good new coaster, it wouldn't be so bad. Stealth also had massive maintenance issues and terrible throughput. Stealth's removal is in no way similar to Darien Lake removing Mind Eraser. And as cool as the ride might have been, I can think of very few who have ever thought anything was the "main attraction" over Top Gun. I'm not sure if that lead to it's removal. Why would Paramount move a ride with maintenance problems to another park? , just so it could have maintenance problems at Carowinds?, it was still Paramount's problem. If it was maintenance problems, they probably would have sold it.... unless they removed it from CGA/PGA because Stealth brought bad attention from it's maintenance problems. Now that I look more into it, I don't see Darien Lake moving ME (anytime soon that is . ) It seems like it's one of the parks fav. looping coasters. Darien Lake doesn't need to get rid of a coaster to build a new one. I hear that DL has minimal room though, so I thought if they removed ME, they would have room for another cooler coaster, and send ME to FC. It has fame at DL, and it shouldn't be removed for a while. ME could still be a great coaster though if they re-paint it, and upgrade the trains.
  10. [youtube2]http://youtu.be/cvr16VL18r4[/youtube2] Check it out, it's amazing.
  11. I never said people can't not like SFA, I just think that when someone says SFA "sucks in every way," it's not true. Everyone can have their opinions, and I don't judge them for that. I just think that the park does not "suck in every way," and they make the park really underrated. Also, SFGAdv. is one of SFI's flaghsip park, so of course their coaster line-up is better than SFA. I also think that SFA is still better than some other parks out there. I do think that SFA needs to Improve in these area's: -Put a restroom near Superman and Batwing -Re-paint Batwing - Fill the old Two-Face hole, or at least tear down the station, and clean it up. - Add a (newly) built coaster I think that SFA is great in some areas, like the guest service. The only reason they do one-train operation's sometimes is because they don't have too many guests, and the lines are still way shorter than what I've seen at SFGAdv., and BGW. Even though they only have 8 coasters, the mix is pretty good, and they are maintained well.
  12. Great to see construction has started, thanks for the post. I wonder how long it will take them to set it up.
  13. I never even suggested that it was. ^ You sort of made it seem like it is in your earlier posts. Those posts made it seem like SFA isn't a good place. In your posts , you guys were talking about how SFA doesn't have many great coasters, and that their only gem is Wild One. KD isn't even that much better than SFA is. Like I said earlier, it's not RCT, where you can just plop a coaster anywhere. SFA only uses 131 acres of land, which is not very large compared to the 300+ acres KD and CP use. SFA is actually a great park, and It doesn't mean KD is better because they have more coasters. Like I said, coasters don't make a park. That seems to be the only reason most enthusiasts don't like SFA. SFA can make improvement's, and so can every other park. According to your posts, you've only been to the park once, yet you seem to have so much to say over the few hours you were there. Also, SFA is not inferior, and tbh, just because KD has Dominator, and I305, does not make them better. The rest of their coasters are about as equal as SFA's coasters. This is news to me. I almost never see any litter at SFA. Also, most of the rides at SFA are usually reliable, the only ride that has problems with maintenance is Batwing.
  14. Which proves my point below: It doesn't really make your point at all. I acknowledge that the park is improving, but it still doesn't hold a candle to other parks within reasonable driving distance. You're welcome to love the park, and hope that it gets great new additions. I personally hope it gets better too. But in its current state, I can't rationalize going to the park more than once a year from my own pocket. It just doesn't make financial sense when there are three other parks within 2.5 hours that deliver far greater experiences on all fronts. I can only really echo what coasterbill is saying. My point was proven actually. I said that I'd rather trust myself, a season pass holder to the park for over 6 years now, rather than someone who just goes there once a year, and decide the park "lacks improvement." Most of the people who write the critical posts about SFA are the people who "try to visit once year." The ones who are give SFA a chance, and visit it frequently and know and see the improvements. Even some of the one time visitor's seen improvements. Also, coasters don't make a park, and I believe that's the only reason people seem to hate SFA. You can't just plop an amazing coaster in a park, it's not RCT, and it's not that easy. First of all, you need land, and SFA only has 131 acres for the dry-side, which is rather small compared to 380 acres KD uses for park operations. Also, I know someone from the state or something has to approve of it most of the time. Also I highly disagree with you saying SFA's coasters aren't worth it. SFA has a lot of neat coasters, that have a neat history, for instance: Mind Eraser: One of the world's first Vekoma SLC's Two-Face: One of the only Invertigo coasters Wild One: A very historic coaster Batwing: One of the first flying coasters in the world, and one of the only Vekoma flying coasters in the world. Superman: was once the tallest coaster on the east coast Apocalypse: B&M's first coaster. Like I said, KI has a lot of the same coasters SFA has, and that's one of the most top-rated parks in the country. Also , like I always continuously saying, even though SFA may not be the best park ever, it's still an awesome place to go to, and I do think some improvements can be made. I never leave SFA without a smile on my face, and love it so much. We defended it probably because we have more knowledge on it than the people who don't live around the area. I have been to many parks, and have a season pass for KD also, and still think the park has improved greatly since 2007-2009. Ever since 2010, SFA has been receiving new rides every season so far, Bonzai Pipelines going to be the fourth new ride in a row, and the park got an expansion/ a newly area in 2010. How is the park dying?, This is the list of the new rides we got since 1999: 1999: Two-Face, and Jokers Jinx get built. 2000: Superman gets built 2001: Batwing gets built 2003: The Penguin's Blizzard Blast gets built 2005: Paradise Island becomes Hurricane harbor, and adds Bahama Blast, and Tornado 2006: Wave Pool gets expanded and becomes one of the largest wave pools in the world 2008: Halfpipe comes to SFA 2010: Thomas Town comes. 2011: Hurricane Mountain transformed to "ZoomAzon Falls." 2012: Apocalypse gets built. 2013: Bonzai Pipelines coming. As you can see, the park's been adding new rides very often.
  15. I was digging through some old posts in this thread, when Invertigo was first announced to be removed, and someone wrote that as a possibility for it's new location. I thought it was funny that they guessed the park it was going to, and the area it was going in correctly ,lol.
  16. I was digging through some old posts in this thread, when Invertigo was first announced to be removed, and someone wrote that as a possibility for it's new location. I thought it was funny that they guessed completely correct, lol.
  17. I've been to many parks actually. I also clearly said that SFA may not be the best park, but it's still lot's of fun, and their rides aren't that rough. The only rough rides are Mind Eraser, Roar, and Apoc. Also, keep in mind that SFA only uses 131 acres of land, so for the size, it has nice coasters. Also a lot of those "un-exciting" SFA has are coasters that a lot of other parks have. For example: KI- has a Premier catapult, an Invertigo, and a Vekoma Flyer. Which proves my point below:
  18. Well get ready to be ecstatic. Make sure you go on a hot day to get the full experience. I believe the people that say that this park has improved but I feel bad for them because that must mean they wasted precious hours at this park when it was actually worse than it is now. We went to SFA for the first and last time this summer and it sucked in every way possible. The front of the park and the area by mind eraser is kind of nice but the mosquito breeding ground by the crappy drop tower and the entire back of the "park" are horrible. Every single coaster was running one train when we went with the exception of Mind Eraser (oh joy), there isn't a single bathroom or tree between the entrance to the empty field in the back of the park (I mean "Gotham City") and Batwing which is like 37 miles away. There's also no shade in the Superman queue (don't forget that they only had one train running) or the Blizzard River queue but luckily they have supports up for canopies in the Superman Queue just to taunt you. We only rode Superman and Batwing once because it wasn't worth the effort. If you go to the park make sure you ride these at like 2PM so you get the full experience. I wouldn't want you to miss out. Oh and PLEEEEEEASE RIDE THE TRAIN. It must be seen to be believed. The best part (besides getting smacked with branches over and over again) is when it takes you right to the Superman Entrance (which is normally like a 10 minute walk in the hot sun) but there's no station there. They're just like "HAHAHAHAHAHA F**K YOU WE'RE NOT STOPPING" and they take you back to the cesspool by the drop tower. The only rides that make this place worth a trip are Wild One (if you don't sit in a wheel seat) and Batwing if you haven't ridden a Vekoma flyer. Make sure you sit on the left side of the train when you ride Wild One so you can experience the headchopper when you go under the piece of the boat ride they never bothered to get rid of because they don't want to mislead anyone into thinking they care AT ALL about how this park looks. I don't understand why people hate on SFA so much. It may not be the best park out there, but it's still an amazing park. I understand there could be some improvement's made here and there, but that's not just SFA, that's every park. I honestly think that the park has come a long way since 2006. Just because they don't have a big bunch of coasters like SFMM, or CP, doesn't mean they don't have good coasters. Ever since Jim Anderson came, the parks been getting back uphill, rides have been re-painted, Hurricane Mountain was re-opened and we got a new coaster this past season!!, and next year we are getting a new water slide. SFA got new rides for the past 4 seasons now: 2010: A bunch of new Thomas Town attractions 2011: Hurricane Mountain re-themed and re-opened as ZoomAzon Falls 2012: New Coaster!!, Apocalypse 2013: Bonzai Pipelines Do you think a bad park gets taken care of that good?, I understand Apocalypse is a used coaster, and even though it's not the baddest coaster, I'm still happy we got it. I think it is an unique ride, and it's still new coaster to the park. The staff at SFA are always friendly to me, and enhance my experience at the park. The theme's at SFA are amazing, and we have one of the biggest wave pools in the world. The lines for coasters are never that long with the exception of Batwing and Superman, and even those don't have a super long wait. SFA is my home park, I've been a season pass holder since 2006, and go there about every week during the season, and I think I can trust myself when I say this park is improving, rather than listening to people who go there once every one or two years.
  19. ^ Hahahahaha!, Wood: Roar at SFA, unless they turn it into a hybrid. Steel: I guess all the Chinese knock-off SLC's,lol.
  20. In 2003, Stealth, the former main attraction at CGA was removed for a water park expansion, so if DL removes ME for a good new coaster, it wouldn't be so bad.
  21. Same, it could make way for something bigger and better. Also, like I said, a small park like Frontier City could use it.
  22. Just because it has a long line doesn't mean it won't leave. Skull Mountain at SFA always had a long line, yet that left for a new coaster. If they were to replace it with a good new coaster, why would it matter how popular it is?, the new coaster could bring more attention to the park. Also, for a small park like Frontier City, Mind Eraser could do great there.
  23. They could get the coaster fixed, and get new parts from Intamin, but that would cost a lot of money, and it would be better for the park to go get a newer coaster instead. If they don't have room, they could take Mind Eraser out, and send it to Frontier City, and then they could install a new coaster in Mind Eraser's spot.
  24. Nice guess, lol. Sorry, I know that post is really old, but I had too ^_^.
  25. Roar at SFA gets my vote. It's the only GCI that still operates with PTC trains. I feel like the ride hurts more than just my head.
