  1. That first drop just look awesome! I really think the ride is going to look so much larger in person than it does in these photos though. I want to see how that second hill will look now.
  2. I'll be starting the season off with a trip to Six Flags great Adventure and my first ride will probably be Nitro. My first new credit of the year will probably be Superman Ride of Steel at Six Flags America.

  4. I really doubt B&M will ever build a launch coaster of any type. I would absolutely love to see them build one, but I think it's very unlikely.
  5. If Hershey does indeed do this I sure hope they build some type of hyper or giga that has some track length.
  6. Great report! I'm trying to head out there one of these weekends since I haven't had the chance to visit yet this summer. I'm glad you loved Storm Runner so much! It is one of my favorite rides and the airtime on the top hat in the front and back is amazing.
  7. I have a new updated list. 1. El Toro- Six Flags Great Adventure 2. Millennium Force- Cedar Point 3. Storm Runner- Hersheypark 4. Diamondback- Kings Island 5. Griffon- Busch Gardens Europe 6. Nitro- Six Flags Great Adventure 7. Apollo's Chariot- Busch Gardens Europe 8. Top Thrill Dragster- Cedar Point 9. Kingda Ka- Six Flags Great Adventure 10. Maverick- Cedar Point
  8. I have seen both Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster rollback but only on tests. I have come close twice. On Kingda Ka last year I had a ride where we just crawled over the top. Also in 2006 on Storm Runner the train just about stopped on the ride and I honestly thought we would rollback but nope.
  9. I was at the park this past day and I didn't see one problem with Ka at all. The ride only ran one side, but they were waiting for enough people to fill the trains to even launch them.
  10. 1. I have gone on a saturday in 2007 and a sunday in 2008. The saturday trip was very crowded, while the sunday trip the crowds were light. 2. The 2007 visit Storm Runner and Great Bear were an hour, Comet had a 45 minute, and most other rides had about 20-30 minutes. This previous year the most I waited was 15 minutes for Storm Runner and Fahrenheit. 3. Go with the Sunday, that is what I am going to be doing again this year.
  11. You don't have anything to worry about. The park is not actually in Allentown, it's in South Whitehall Township. Downtown Allentown can be ruff but you won't have to worry about that. The park is very friendly and the crowds are just fine. The only time I have had bad experiences is on Saturdays.
  12. That is great to hear the ride is back up and running. I will be heading out to the park on Tuesday.
  13. Get to the park before opening and go to Storm Runner first! You can get a couple walk on rides on it and then head over to Fahrenheit. The line will still be very short at this point. After, do all the coasters in Midway America. Stop for lunch at anywhere in the park and then go back to Comet Hollow and Minetown. The waits will be longer but it won't be ridiculous.
  14. The way I would go about the day is start off with El Toro right when the ropes drop. After Toro go over to Kingda Ka. You shouldn't wait more than 5-10 minutes at opening for both of these attractions. Then hit up GASM and Superman. Head over to TDK, Batman, and Nitro. None of these should be more than 30 minutes. Once you finish that go to Skull Mountain and take the skyride over to Bizzaro. You should have all of these in easily before dinner time. This leave you a few hours to hit up your favorite rides again. As for best seats I love the back on Toro and Nitro. Front seats on Ka and Bizarro. Anything else you can pretty much pick but those are my favorites.
  15. El Toro backrow on Sunday the 5th. The Bull didn't seem like it is up to speed yet this year. I hope I can check back in a couple weeks. Nitro was still down.
  16. I am not sure if this person counts but I am almost positive I saw Paul Ruben at Dorney Park in 2005. I also rode Storm Runner with a guy who look EXACTLY like Akon but I was to scared to ask. This was at springtime in the park of 2008.
  17. Wow, this is very interesting! I would just love to go to a park in the off season and see how everything is taken care of.
  18. ^ I don't know about that. To me it looks like they are brake fins. If you look closley, it appears that there is a silver cylinder under them. This is where the brake fin drops down.
  19. Also, the transfer track is not on the main course. I wonder if they will be testing the kicker wheels or something.
  20. On most wooden coasters I like to ride in the front row because it's a little smoother and you get some nice airtime at the peaks of the hills. The exception is El Toro. I must ride that thing in the back for the ridiculous first drop. Now when I ride steel coasters i prefer the back seat. I love first drops in the back on a smooth steel coaster. If it is a launch coaster I want to ride in the front. I love the wind in your face and seeing the acceleration.
  21. I am hoping Great Adventure on opening day or the second day after. If that does not work out then it will be Hersheypark for Springtime in the park. My first coasters will be either Nitro or Storm Runner.
  22. This coaster looks so amazing. It has everything I look for in a coaster. Its like a Storm Runner and Maverick type ride which sounds awesome.
  23. ^Well not yet, but in previous years I have when Nitro, Apollo's Chariot, and Griffon where all in the top 15. I just feel like Storm Runner deserves to be higher than all of those coasters.
