  1. Or these pictures are a few days old (what I doubt seeing pictures of an incomplete lifthill just a few days ago) or there is no way they can have this up and running in a month from now. Seems like there is a solid week of track constuction left. Okay they might be further in the unseen department of construction but I would be shocked to see this open on March 31st.
  2. So hope they can keep it a bit down in the summer months. I'm going to visit the park the first time this year and I'm not in the mood in the summer for cheap halloween stuf, I'm okay if they keep it till the night time. About the coaster, From what I know about the ride it seems like this could be a step up, if they used the stops. Let's see how this turns out. Also is it a one year deal or does it keep the theming? I think it's to expensive for a one year deal.
  3. I actually didn't hear about this untill you mentioned it. But now I've seen imagery on this (I don't want to share because I can't find the original source.) But this shows how bad the situation really is, they removed a fair amount of the old track. It still hasn't been placed as what I've read that it still doesn't fit. Still I see no cause for panic as they're one two track pieces away from reaching the lowest part of the helix and the ride which comes in line with the rest of the track being done this week.
  4. It looks good. I'm finally looking forward to ride it now. This might be better then what I expected.
  5. Been today in the Efteling wanted to share some pictures from the Python construction. It starts to look complete. Corkscrews are done. Just the helix left. And this, I'm curious how this will be connected. I mean the Python used to be welded together so this is the most interesting thing in the whole project. Thought it was funny these three still at the site. As far as I could see all the supports where back in place meaning only track work remained. No change in the skyline of this ride. It seems like next week they can be full circle again.
  6. I'm surprised this test was considered a success. I've been to the park in the testing phase and all the time I was there it was disabled or the ride was closed, heck the system was broken for a good month (If I recall correct) so I never got to say what I thought of this system. I'm nor upset by the Symbolica announcement. I didn't intend to ride that for a good while after my last ride was just too dull. Not all that shimmers is gold is the best phrase that fits the ride in my opinion. (I mean a beautiful darkride isn't automatically a good one imo)
  7. I'm not here to rip on anybodies opinion, but I came to the conclusion that ours are to far off for me to contribute in this decision. Back on track: Robb you really made me realize I've been approaching this wrong. I'm looking at it as an absolute Either BPB or FL and it's something I'm going to have to life with for the rest of my life. But your sentence "If you had more time" Really got me in a way you might not have intended. I have more time, not this year no this year I keep it at 3 parks but I have a much higher chance to return to England then most other countries I have on my bucked list. I'm not surprised to have a second England trip before my first America trip (that doesn't seem to be happening soon.), and then I can chance the game for myself. So the question shouldn't be: "Which park to visit?" No the question should be: "Which park first?" I do understand why I think the way I think. I'm strongly aware of the sudden twist and turns of life, So I look at it like: "One shot, one opportunity. I must seize everything I want." Now this makes it all a bit easier on the mind. I can let both parks flow and look at them objectively. I'm not 100% sure yet, but I do want to investigate the BPB system and maybe base a choice out of that.
  8. Saw Black Panther yesterday. Great movie personal best of phase 3. I only thought Klaue could have had a more important role It just felt like a extended cameo from Avengers AoU. Besides that I enjoyed the story and hope Infinity war just raises the bar because I sure as hell don't see Ant-Man and the Wasp do that. I was surprised how much culture this movie had it really made me want to see Wakanda if it exsisted.
  9. Okay I'm not the guy for kiddy rides (besides my dad will come along and he already thinks my hobby is wierd. ) but still I got to ask why Dora? Besides that good point and it's also why I lean towards BPB. I mean I'm not surprised BPB is getting the upperhand here. Icon looks cool and is the fuel of the rift. I mean I much rather ride Kumali then Infusion because of the clone effect and besides that a chance on a El Loco (who's design I think is crazy) and Volare (I know many call it rough), wich are the only ones of their type to be found on my bucket list, caused me to be split in the opinion. On the other hand Revolution, Big One and Icon are the rides I look at and don't wish to miss out on. So for a Second I push Flamingoland out of my head, What makes BPB the park not to miss in England?
  10. So I'm currently planning an England trip in Summer 2018 and it looks like nothing will be in my way this year getting me the closest I've ever been. I never imagined I would come to doubt this again, but I can't choose between Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Flamingoland. Here's the point I only intend to go to three parks and Alton Towers and Thorpe park where always on the top of the list with BPB and FL fighting for third place. Years ago BPB was on my bucket list of parks I like to visit once, it really has a vast amount of coasters but the park never spoke to me, it looks like an oversizes funfair. FL spoke to me it has a small amount of unique (for my bucket list) rides. I thought it was done FL won, but now BPB seems to whisper to me. The coasters at BPB seem more high quality. So once again these two parks seem to be in the ring again and I don't want to regret my choice. So I decided to let TPR judge what first me more. To direct: 1: I love visual appeal. I enjoy a more complete coaster over a quality ride. 2: I also believe in quality over quantity. I rather ride 1 good ride then 3 okay rides. 3: I count credits but I rather add 1 new credit on the list then 5 clones of rides I already did. (I feel like BPB really lacks in this department) 4: I thought it might be a good idea to point to some other (Small) parks on my want/did list to give perspective on me: Faarup Sommerland, Tripsdrill, Hansa, Kolmarden, Toverland. Both Parks really have their ups and downs in my opinion, So I really hope with your expertize I come to a choice I won't regret. So can TPR help here?
  11. And I thought it was a simple retrack, But it seems like they take the chance to smooth it out here and there. I wouldn't be angry if they bank the entry to the Helix, more inline with Shaman at Gardaland, the old entry to the Python was very flat.
  12. Must have had a bad pay-day from Disney. Glad to see it's not VR, I saw the picture and was like: "oh no another VR ride in a park that already has one." But this is more exiting for me. I want to return to this park badly but till now I always had to cancel last minute. Maybe 2019.
  13. The ride was past it's prime in my opinion but it was far for a retirment. The ride was rough but not: "This has to go." rough I usualy rode it only once a day and only if I could directly go into the station, if the queue was on the stairs I would skip it and walk to Goliath. I did once joke "RMC it" never believed that would even be considered by the park, let alone that it became reality. I'm happy that the park could keep it under wraps for this surprise reveal. I never expected the second European RMC to be that close to home, I had my money on Germany. I still can't believe this.
  14. Pleas tell me nobody messes with me. This is real? RMC in the Netherlands? I did not expect that for the upcomming 10 years or so. I'm sold, I have nothing more to add to that.
  15. Glad to see we have a Solo a Star Wars story trailer, and I wanted to share some thoughts. First glance it's my biggest complaint becoming reality. A movie about a character that wasted a space that could be filled in with a movie like R1. Yeah I'm not exited having these side movies fill in character back ground I want to see events. I'm even for a Bobba Fett movie if it's not about Bobba but about bounty hunters and have Bobba be a main player (not the main character) in a game between them. I have the same reaction as the GotG trailers, I have no idea what's going on and it seems like fun. In a sense GotG became the SW of Marvel so I like to see Solo become the GotG of SW, AKA a fun movie about a A hole doing his thing. I just try to be optemistic but I surely hope less Solo style movie's and more R1 style movie's.
  16. I was on the assumtion that that was coasters only so I didn't thought of it back then. Either way I explain it later, I did not recieve the ride well and I'm of the believe the ride has gone through a downwards spiral to the point that I don't enjoy it and probably won't ride it anytime soon again. I suddenly remembered this is incorrect. Taron comes from July 2016 but I did a Sweden trip in August 2016. Helix became my number 5 in the steel catagory and Wildfire 1 in the wood. Oh well.
  17. I really like these threads 1. What is the best park visit you had in 2017? Really none stand out, maybe Movie park Germany I did have tons of fun with the cheerleading day because of my friends reaction. 2. Have you ever traveled to a park with a specific ride in mind only for it to be closed all day? I never had a ride I liked to do closed all day without prior knowledge. I did visit the Efteling yesterday and the Python was closed all day and I did come to watch the reconstruction, does that count? 3. GCI or Gravity Group? Pick one. GCI never been on a GG ride before so. 4. How many different parks did you visit in 2017? 4 5. How many times did you visit your home park in 2017? 12 times maybe less I tend to keep it at once a month, but the year was a bit messy so I might have skipped a month or two. 6. What was the first RMC you rode? Wildfire. 7. Best view from the top of a lift? Wildfire. 8. What new-for-2018 roller coaster are you most anticipating? Pick one. Fenix Toverland because it's the only new for 2018 ride I'm sure to ride. 9. RMC or Intamin? You can only choose one. Why is this a question? RMC all the way. 10. What was your favorite new-to-you ride of 2017? Star Trek operation Enterprise. Not to hard to pick as it was the only new to me ride I did in 2017 11. Money is no object. You can travel to any park in the world right now by snapping your fingers. Where are you going? Really love to see Cedar Point some day so I'm going for that. 12. Have you ever made out with someone in a queue line? No. 13. What is the last coaster that changed your top 10? my nummber 3 Taron Phantasialand. 14. Disney or Universal? Disney. 15. When is the last time you witnessed someone puke at a park? Never, but I heard stories of people that did before me when I was youngh 16. How many new credits did you pick up in 2017? If you don't count, take your best guess... Hmmm have to guess 1. Yeah the messy year became a bad coaster year. Let's just say it was not my priority last year. 17. You're at Magic Mountain. You have a one hour ERT session on ONE coaster of your choice. You choose... X2 seems funny. 18. Name a coaster or ride that you passionately dislike. Bobbaan at the Efteling comes close, the seats are too small and the ride hurts me a lot. 19. What is the most amount of money you've spent on a Fast Pass? €0,00 and that number will never change. 20. Skyscreamers or Windseekers? Never done either of them. 21. What is your most recent B&M credit? Baron 1898 all the way back in 2015 already. 2018 will change that. 22. Best adult beverage at a theme park? (under 21: whats your favorite beverage you can only get at a park?) Beer I guess never drunk adult beverage in a park as I always have to drive afterwards. 23. Most irritating coaster nickname/abbreviation? Yolo Coaster. 24. Butterbeer or Dole Whip? ? 25. Favorite steel coaster *under* 100 feet? Taron at 98,4 feet. 26. What's the best bathroom at your home park? Home park Efteling, I say the one in the fairy tale forrest because that the rest does not fit the park at all. 27. Nighttime ERT on Lightning Rod or all-you-can-eat Cinnamon Bread? You can only choose one. ERT 28. If it were in your power, what coaster would you relocate to Knoebels? All SLC's get the as far away for me as possible. 29. What is the last thing you remember eating in a theme park? Frikandel bun. To explain Frikandel are Dutch specialties and they aren't found that easy outside our borders except for the Dutch part of Belgium. Either way it is a round stick of meat from the deep fry wrapped in puff pastry and curry sauce added then heated up and then ready to eat. Some people like it still after it cooled down but come on meat is suppose to be hot. 30. Your favorite coaster got equipped with on board audio x Spotify. What's your hype track? The soundtrack of that ride. I really love coaster soundtracks even more when Ima produces it. 31. Name the most disappointing ride you took in 2017. Not a coaster Symbolica at the Efteling. It just not my ride. 32. Airtime hill or Zero G Roll? Airtime hill they never hurt me. 33. What is your favorite coaster/ride built before 1970? The oldest ride I ever did was out of 1980 so none. 34. What's worse - splashed by malaria lake flume water or dripped on by chain lift grease? How bad is the water? 35. Name an Intamin coaster on your bucketlist! I305 36. You just won a 3 day trip with hotel and airfare included. The catch is you have to choose between Disneyworld or Cedar Point. Which do you choose and why? Cedar Point 37. Floater or Ejector? Ejector 38. What was your worst park experience of 2017? Can't think of anything. 39. Name your favorite coaster under 41 feet tall. Van Hellsing's factory. 40. End your post with an aerial shot of one of your top 5 coasters. pass
  18. Why not, even though it became my annual joke along the way. I always have great plans, but life finds a way to stop my tracks. Either way: 100% sure nobody can stop it because I already did some or I'm not bound to a period: -Phantasialand (done) -Efteling (done) -Toverland Park I'm very sure off: -Skyline park. Parks I plan to but have a high failure level: -Alton Towers -Thorpe park -Flamingo land Parks I'm not quite sure off but would be a nice addition to the year: -Europa park -Walibi Belgium Can't cover it any better honestly.
  19. [Looking at Facebook banner] thinks: Needs update, coaster related this time. "2 days later": I have no idea what to do. Always nice to think we spend our time usefull on this planet.
  20. I just remember there was a Python plus design. Oh the things that could have been. To clarify to those who have no idea what I'm talking about, Python Plus takes the current Python and cuts out the corkscrews and keeps them safe. So after the looping and the turn around the coaster takes a dip and an bunny hill before going into a tunnel and into an Immlemann then it would hit a mcbr before riding up a second lift hill which ends in a fall with a twist and two more bunny hils before a second mcbr. Then we have a horseshoe and we take the corkscrews from earlier and place the after that going underneath the current lift hill and between the looping before a gentle turn takes you back to the helix and the brakes. Now I'm aware that both Joris en de draak and Kombuis are in the way for that lay-out. Also legal issues may come in play because if I'm correct both Vekoma and the Efteling worked on the design. But still I would have loved to see them make Python plus a real thing, like I said yesterday I'm afraid the park might lose something when the time comes for the Python, this would have been a great midway, it ups the ride bring a new experience and retain the feel of the Python still active.
  21. Here's a small list of rides I hope to do in the opcoming years: -Nemesis (Alton Towers) after all I heard it ought to be good. -Smiler (Alton Towers) love the gimick. -Galactica (Alton Towers) Always wanted to try a Flying coaster. -Colossus (Thorpe park) I just want to ride this. -Mumbo Jumbo (Flamingo land) I love wacky coasters. -F.L.Y. (Phantasialand) Got high standart with this park so any coaster becomes an instant must. -Sky Wheel (Skyline park) an other wacky design. -Dragon Kahn (Port Aventura) again heard so much good. -Stunt fall (Parque Warner Madrid) always wanted to try a GIB. -Ispeed and Katun (Mirabilandia) both heard good thing about them. -Sequoia Adventure (Gardaland) wacky design. -Goudurix (Parc Astérix ) heard a lot of bad things about this one, so I need to test it. -Mega coaster 2021 (Walibi Belgium) looks like fun. This manly covers my still to do in Europe list, I also want to go to America but I can't see it happening soon.
  22. I think I'm going to look this weekend. Not sure yet but this I have to see in real life. About preserving it. The Python is a different level of history then any other ride in the park. Their first coaster, it literally mapped the park back in the day and Many Dutch people have a strong history with the ride, for many it was their first big ride. I personally believe the park loses many people if the ride would be gone in the upcoming 20 years. When I tell people I like roller coasters I always deal with people that connect it with the Python and the Efteling despite the numerous better coasters in the Netherlands alone. Heck even Walibi is known only for their coasters but seldom people make that first connection. Everybody knows the white track, green columns and red trains, only a picture of the ride and people know it's the Python from the Efteling. Pegasus did not have that, it was a ride it got old and wasn't functioning the way it should it was time for change. The Bob would also be just a ride, and one I'm rather happy to see go it hurts me a lot. Anyways it would have been better if they evolved for the fans for the change, but it would have cost a lot of their identity.
  23. They are saying that it is "The world's first rollercoaster experience fusing wood and fire" (pretty sure Wodan and Apocalypse are also Woodies that have fire effects though) so it will be real. Joris en de Draak has basically a dragon that spits fire every few minutes, and I wouldn't be surprised if that there are more woodies. The only difference that they can make is by having the thing burn all the time instead of a burst of flames every now and then like the previous named all have. I wonder what environment effect that has. At Alton Towers Marketing (especially the SW series) I always love them. Their actually really fun, I never been to the park but still I can see these rides aren't really that worthy of that level of Marketing. Either way I really want to see this ride in action and see how they "Fuse" wood and fire in a unique way or not.
  24. After all the negativity around TLJ I had to watch it again. Was I blinded the first time with the Star Wars brand or did I really love it for the right reason. The verdict I still love it, Not because it's a Star Wars movie but because it made me rethink what I knew. I had the trilogy dotted out in my head then I watched TLJ and it started by flipping the bird to me. I was like: "oh, alright." And thought it would soon get launched back on my vision many because that was what the trailers showed me. Then there was a moment I thought: "Okay it's obvious this is going to happen, they not going to that." but that did happen. At that time my whole concept of 9 was gone, and I loved it and still love it. Heck these days I think franchises always go on the predictable route. TLJ I thought I had spelled out together with 9 but I was never so wrong while it felt so right. Right now I feel as bumped for 9 as I did before TFA before a trailer was out. Hell I have some idea's but it feels open. Having said that there are things I raised an eyebrow at. Two scenes I was like: "come on" about but this isn't the first time that happened in Star Wars in my opinion. There was one story arc I felt like it was there and it was fine just not necessary. It was fine how they executed it but really it just did not help this movie. It's not my favorite Star Wars Movie and it never will be, but it broke something I in hindsight was needing this movie to break.
  25. I've seen it and I thought it was awesome. I tottaly did not expect the movie to go the way it did and was surprised big time. Really look forward to the Rian trilogy now. Also can't wait to see something about episode 9. I'm currently planning a second vieuwing soon.
