  1. I saw Solo a few days ago. It was fun I liked it, but completely felt unnecessary. I wasn't be biggest fan of the idea that we got a movie about Han Solo, I don't want movies to focus on a character we already know well enough. I heard we maybe getting a Bobba Fett movie and I hope it's a bounty hunter movie featuring Bobba in a bigger role. Hell I loved how Bail and Mon where used in Rogue One, Glad to see Tarkin and Leia brought back as it all made sense but it was it's own story. So I went in with low expectations which where easily met. There Where things I wasn't a big fan off, but overall I enjoyed myself and that was all I cared for. And at the end I fell nearly out of my chair seeing someone I never expected to see (again) in a movie, It made sense to me and at that moment I was like: "Whaaaat." But basically that was the only thing I will remember from that movie to be honest. If your eager to watch "the" next Star Wars adventure this will not provide it, but it was worth my time and I think that's good enough.
  2. Another 2021 announcement? Wow, A lot of great projects are coming between now and then. I'm exited about this one, Taron blew me away the first time riding it and it's one of the best coaster I ever did any project inspire by that ride has high chance of being great as well.
  3. Read your review Robb. Even if our opinions are different (like I told earlier here I liked it) I was glad to read a constructive comment telling me why you didn't like it, most complaints I heard and read where basically: "The Movie is Dumb why didn't Thanos just create more food." (<-- for those who wonder this, Thanos tried to safe his home world without an all powerful glove so the only thing he could come up with was to kill half the people. When he gets exiled or wanders off to an other planted and sees the same happening he might have enforced his believe and saw it work. Meaning by the time he learned about these all powerful stones he could safe the galaxy with a snap. Creating food never crosses the characters mind thanks to that.) Or "This movie didn't show Xandar (or some other random not important stuff), bad movie." So it's nice to read someone that can reconstruct the movie and you brought up some points I agree with. First you claim this movie should have just been named Infinity War. 100% agree, there is nothing "Avengers" about it. I believe midway through productions they realized that it was a Thanos movie and by that time they already announced the title as Avengers Infinity War and didn't dare to change that. The Avengers where cut down to 2 and a half (Tony, Vision, Rhody) in the movie and added one (Peter P) later. Steve had his team that kind of walks into the same bar same as the Guardians. Then we have the wild-cards (Strange, Banner, T'Chala and gang, Thor) and these are then shared into 3 sub groups over the movie. I thought the movie really was by fans for fans. A casual MCU fan would not have had the proper investment in the universe for this movie. It was an event, a celebration of 10 years of movies, that is why people who had the proper investments (having watched all 18 movies before it and really knew the characters) lose their minds in this movie. All these people understand that yes these characters come back but still felt that knife driving in their backs. I totally understand (because I kind of felt the same) that casual fans are like: "This is dumb they will come back in Avengers 4." This is why for myself I group them as: 3 are actually dead, 1 is in the Soul Stone alive, the others are in limbo, neither death or alive. Even though I liked the movie as a whole, there where several things I didn't like in this movie. Black Order goes out like their jokes. When Maw took off I thought: "Wait what? He comes back right?" A minute later "So no? Dead like that? Okay." When Proxima told Black Widow Corvus was death I believed her, when he was revealed to be alive all I could think of was "Meh". Also Wong is a terrible friend, "Oh my mate is captured got to protect this tower. I don't care about the universe." The Wong one is a minor complaint to be honest but still made me hate the character. Also the movie felt predictable while sometimes I liked that (Like Star Lord punching Thanos) Because it shows how well we can get inside these characters heads, Some times (Gamora knowing location of Soul Stone.) I felt they could have keep us more in suspense. The movie had me on the edge of my seat wondering how this play came to an end. That was all I wanted it to do, All I want for 4 is to give me a satisfying play of events doing what we already know it will do. Call me a simple man but yeah, as long as I feel entertained I'm okay with all movies. I also want to add a little rant as it's also fuel on the current discussion. I really hate the fact that movie studios now have 6, 7 movies already announced and subbed named known to the fans. People really seem to take that information with them when watching a movie meaning twist can easily fall out wrong as people will atomically cling to those. IW is another victim of this. The snap feels easily pointless thanks to that. And Marvel isn't the only studio to suffer that problem.
  4. They really know how to keep the pace when building a coaster there. Seems like there are only 6 to 8 pieces left before the track is round, I know all the supports are standing from updates from twitter. If they work tomorrow and sunday if it isn't done by sunday it will be monday for sure. And to think 3 weeks ago there was only a brake, station and lifthill with a little bit of track on the ground. Next week I'm going to Germany for some parks, if it's up to me we're going to take the extra 7 minutes (but less kilometers) detour to see this guy again from the N277 on our way home.
  5. I just got home form the park. Small update on Avalon (better said Fenix). The Immelmann is complete, the Helix is complete and today the first 2 pieces of the Zero G roll got placed. Maybe I will place pictures I don't know yet (I did make them). As for the other things: They where working on the roof of the boat house. The rock work on the station also starts to get shape. The restaurant exterior got some work done today. They are really far with landscaping, a lot of the future pathways are already visible (No paving yet.). It seems they wanted to finish the helix first so they can start on the "Island". I'm not at all afraid to see them finish this in time.
  6. Seen Infinity War too. Really liked it. I won't say anything more because I fear I might spoil something.
  7. The park released a video reaching the highest point today: Yesterday I decided to keep track on construction (Like I like to do for many project that intrest me.) Here's an update from today: At first look I said they're a long way if it opens in 11 weeks. But at closer look the coaster is basically the last major thing left. Besides that landscaping and decorative elements are basically left and in 5 to 7 weeks you make a decent progress with that. I'm curios to see their progress this week on the coaster. It starts to look very good.
  8. 1. It's replacing the track, but they will keep the layout as close to the original as possible 2. The ride is nearly 30 years old so I guess it needed repairs, plus it was quite rough for some people See this is why I'm confused. It hints towards change. Am I to see that like they did with the Python in the Efteling? (basically smoothing out the ride). I don't know I just find that statement confusing. About the ride being rough and in need of repairs, I can see that. It may have been 8 years since I rode it but I still remember it being jerky, also the fact that I shared my seat with a larger person helped me to remember that ride, with the restrains being so far away I might have been able to squeeze myself out of it. (Am so glad the new trains don't seem to share that problem.)
  9. I've been following the Eurosat project off and on. But there are two thing still not clear to me. 1. Is this a re-tracking of (most) of the coaster or are they redesigning it? and 2. If it's re-tracking why not just re-theme it? AKA why was it necessary to re-track? I read some articles but they where hinting either way.
  10. It's really going to be a seen from the main road. I'm more and more thinking about going to watch them build this thing.
  11. It's a shame about the soft opening, I heard it wasn't untill the afternoon people would be able to ride. I actually wanted to go next week and try it out but I'm not sure now. Other then that looks to be a solid family ride. Good to see the two big Walibi parks actually bringing some good coasters after a 9 year break.
  12. ^ Well kind of wierd how we both share an experience from two sides without ever meeting one other. Just shows how things can be. I promise you, you had the better spot for sure, afer a while not being able to move freely really got to me. Lucky it didn't last to long.
  13. Rode it today. Sad to say the ride lost something, the old one had snap to it this one really misses that. That said it does run smoother and the single rider line is a welcome addition. And no, didn't get a nut I wanted to until I saw the line for it, it was crazy so I decided to just take a ride in the Python instead. Today there was a malfunction causing the train to get stuck in the brakes. I had to be the one to ride it at that time. O well never had that happen before and its a welcome experience to have I say. To bad we didn't evacuate would like to experience that also. Edit some pictures from today: During the malfunction From earlier that day
  14. So I wanted to do a double revieuw of the latest two movies I saw. Tomb Raider: Not bad, not great. I enjoyed myself while watching and it really felt like a video game at times. That said the movie kind of felt generic, there was nothing that wanted me to go and rewatch it. That said if this gets a sequel that focuses on what I hoped it does, I'm going to watch it. Ready Player One: I had realy a lot of fun watching this. Just the easter eggs in this movie made it do it for me. I'm mixed on the plot. The video game plot I could realy buy it was the real world plot that felt "meh" to me. Still I enjoyed the movie a lot.
  15. Okay they caught me by surprise with this. When they said Festival this wasn't what I pictured at all. It's bold yes, but not my cup of tea for sure. We shall see how this turns out.
  16. I'm not going to lie, it sound very optimistic in my opinion to say this terrain can be completed in 5 work days. But if there was concern we would have heard something by now. I just got to keep faith.
  17. ^ Phantasialand is very busy making people rent airplanes to take those, I know how you feel I also really want to know more come on PHL it's 2018 just accept the Internet already. Seriously they did take down one of the main street buildings (A waffle house if I'm correct) to create an entrance way to the new area. Curious as to why now, this could have been done later in my opinion. Also happy to see them work on Black Mamba, PHL is my favorite park out there because of their insanely high standards. This is also why I expect TotNH to go soon its just the worst if you look a the rest of the park honestly. This is a perfect example, an update for the sake of updating, it wasn't bad but it wasn't their standard. Great Work.
  18. I actually didn't notice the flat turn halfway throught the coaster untill that video, looks funny. I'm still waiting for that front faced onride, maybe this weekend? The ride looks like it will be fun, really hope to make it to AT this summer and try it out.
  19. Notice how all those four are reffered to as thrill rides, if they want to be unieque a familie launch sounds the best way imo. If they plan to go thirll ride then they really need to bring the A game. ^^ That's quite a growth from last season I expected more on the line of 4.9 million. But it's not crazy Symbolica was well recieved (even though I had personal issues with the ride the general public loved it and I can see why.) It's always strange to me having one of the best parks in the world just 45 minutes away.
  20. Looks good. I hope track work is going to start soon. Really can't wait for July to come here. It's hard to imagen this park being just one hall 15 years ago.
  21. ^There are more rumors out there wich spark my intrest. Half indoor half outdoor, circus theme. Besides I think Intamin has a nice viraty when it comes to Launched coasters, Juvelen is a multi launch coaster in the family style, They could go drop track like Th13teen or here's a unique idea in the erea: Inverted (semi) launched coaster (DragenKonge). Taron style coaster in the Efteling will just go and compete with Taron. Besides we just got a thrill ride it would be more smart to go family now and next time they can go all out thrill again. Just my random thoughts.
  22. According to Looopings the manufacture of the 2020 coaster is Intamin. While its still not confirmed, looopings has a track record for being right. I just want it out there that we can't be too sure but we can take this more serious. I'm curious what will become of this there is no type mentioned. I hope they don't go multi-launch mega coaster like Taron, I really like them to go family style with this one but nothing to soft Juvelen style would be perfect.
  23. This Thread ruined me in like a minute. Now I want to know if it's more common to have the nose of the train on your left hand or right hand when you board a coaster. Time fort the season to begin again.
  24. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be true. I kind of expected this, I mean a big expansion you want people to react to that and the best reaction you can get is with a coaster because around the world people turn their heads towards you. And if it turns out to be true I'm happy it will be placed there, I really want to see the park spread the coasters more their last three are cramped in the corner which already contained the Python. So seeing them place a coaster a bit further away really makes me happy. I know many Dutch enthusiasts liked to have seen them do a log flume there and while I agree a flume is something the park could use I like it to go close by the Python I love to see all the corners of the park provide diverse rides. I do however wish there won't be a coaster in the Marenrijk section of the park.
  25. Unexpected but this is the most exited news ever from Bobbejaanland in my experiance. Seems 2019 has a good reason to return to Bobbejaanland, It never has been my favorite park and never will but their rides have a certain charm in my opinion. Just wish the park itself gets that same charm someday.
