Today the park openend for public and I was there. Here are some of the most intresting picturers I took Today. I love the design looking forward to seeing the real ones soon. The Sign used at the entrance has been placed. Really like the stand here. On every screen showing the Queue times the have this countdown. 270 Degrees to the Left, to the Right. Those that mean I made a right guess? It Really looks like it doesn't it? Station, not bad but also not great. Queue is visable. Love the fact that we can walk under the the old piece of track from Robin Hood. -

I wouldn't be mad if that's forgotten. I see what you did there. That was unintentional. Love the logo it fits really well with the area. Also I'm exited to hear that we finally get the unique element I started to think it was the 97 Degree outward stall. Although I wouldn't hold my breath to much it might be a curved stall for all I know. I also read that the trains would be in view for the public on April 6th, I'm so glad I got a annual pass this year so I'm there the 6th to check it out if it's there. -

This Looopings Article shows of some of Wilderness Theming and Untamed construction. While hard to see on the pictures it is confirmed that the first brake has been moved next to the Transfer Stall, meaning both my wishes have come true. Also hard to see in on these is the fact that that the roof of the station on the inside is covered in mirrors for some reason. Also this article mentions the action raised €9630,- for charity what was raised, by Walibi Holland CEO Mascha van Till, to €10000,-. For a Wheel someone payed €480,-, for a chain link €440,- the old entrance sign went out for €390,- A chain hook €280,- and there where two train carts for action one went out for €650,- the other for €800,- -

There are pictures of it looking way more convincing then this one. But I agree on that one it looks not at all convincing. I'm just very curious if that effect even works I'm going to try to make my way down there this year -

Is this element placed after the what used to be flat turn near the end of the ride? And partly takes up what used to be the first brake? Because I had two wishes for the conversion: 1. Bring the turnaround to the ground. 2. Move the first brakes to next to the Stalls. These two wishes would both have been come true if I see the right location. Also if I remember correctly today the park actioned parts of Robin Hood and the people who are there are getting a tour on the construction site of Untamed. I'm just hoping on some pictures. -

While I don't mind the color change for this reason, because they have a point, I believe red would have clashed less. When I looked at the concept art the red made sense it looked like they where going for a dark theme, trying to imagine the track Orange in that concept art it all becomes a lot more happy. I'm okay with that as long as the Dragon, station and area fit with that orange track. -
Yesterday night I saw Captain Marvel. It was better then expected. But this is the first Marvel Movie that didn't leave me wanting more. My first MCU movie was the Avengers in 2012, after seeing that movie I wanted to see what came before and what would follow. Each Marvel movie had something (A character story arc (Like Tony's arc), new rules to the universe (Like S.H.I.E.L.D. collapse) or just expanding the universe (Like Guardians did)) that I wanted to see continue. Maybe that is because this movie is set in the past and we know where all the returning characters end up and that a sequel most likely will only carry over Captain Marvel herself, one of the post credit scenes did leave me exited for Avengers Endgame but I can't count that as the Post Credit scene's most of the time hype up future Marvel movie's. Overall the movie did things I like and things I didn't like. One thing I can say about things that I didn't like and remain Spoiler free is that I believe a lot of returning characters where underused and where used more like, remember me?, type of role. I also want to touch on the Feminism aspect surrounding this film. There are some moments I did see as power to Females and men are dumb pigs, but honestly it didn't bother me and some things felt even era appropriate. I'm not really the one that cares enough, Heck there is a song in this movie that took me like half a minute to realize that song is only there because it's a female lead hero movie. I believe Captain Marvel is still a well rounded character with flaws, but I can see people disagreeing to that. I usually don't give points but I believe a point is the best way to say how I felt about the movie. 7/10

Efteling Discussion Thread
RCT3Bross replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As far as I know the homes at the east of the park are already in possession of the Efteling. So the complainers we don't know them all, but from the party that asked for the suspension a couple of people have come in the news the past few days. They however all live at the West side of the park. This isn't weird as the plans include both the east expansion and a west expansion of the park. The people that have come out stated they are afraid of extra noise and extra traffic. There is also some people that are afraid the view is going to ruined. As of now there seem to be no direct attacks on the east expansion just the west and traffic part. The assumption is now that it would most likely go one of these ways: 1. The complainers lose and the plan will be allowed as it is now. 2. The 50/50 way the park isn't allowed to expand west, but is allowed to expand east. 3. The Efteling loses and the plan is rejected in it's whole. Edit: Here is an artical in Dutch about the complainers. It sparked a lot of attacks from Dutch fans as the elderly woman admits she came to live there 12 years ago and didn't expect the park to have ambitions to grow. Also the man stated that the Efteling didn't communicate the expansion and only heard it after the approval of the local government, that also doesn't sit well with fans as the park had numerous information evenings to discuses concerns about the expansion and this plan as been openly in the works for several years. I think these people are allowed to be afraid about the expansion plan with the extra noise, view lost and traffic problems, but both do make some dumb comments regarding about the expansion. -
Efteling Discussion Thread
RCT3Bross replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This Friday the judge made a decision on the suspension and ruled in favor of the people trying to stop the expansion. This means that the Efteling as of now isn't allowed to expand until the high court made it's final decision in December this year. If the Suspension was lifted Friday the park would have applied permits for construction for the rumored 2021 coaster but that's not going to happen now, most likely the park won't open the ride by 2022 if the park is still allowed to expand on the east side after the final rule. It's a mojor setback for the park for sure. I hope they where somewhat prepared for this. Now keep in mind the final rule will be made in December 2019 then we go into that 6 week window meaning that the final rule will not be out earlier then January 2020. So we basically have to wait for almost a year before we hear more. -

Episode 4 is up: So some new details: -There are, as confirmed on Twitter and Facebook, 5 inversions on the ride. -One Inversion is a Step-up Under Flip as the first half of the turnaround. -The second half of the turnaround is a 97 Degree Outward Stall. -Highest point has been reached. -There is also a clear focus to finish the parts of the ride that connect to the park first, to peak guest interest. -Episode 5 will show more about the themed area. I'm happy with the turnaround, A twisted Horseshoe element would have been way to predictable here, and the turn coming down so low makes the ride much more appealing to watch. Also when the Highest point got reached this Wednesday there where also a lot of pictured to be found of the Micro Bunny after the First drop, turns out it's barely touching 2 meters in hight what seems really low. Also the next episode will focus less on Untamed and is (if pattern persist) the last episode before the park opens so I wonder how much we know by the time the park opens. I'm excited to visit the park on openings day and see the construction for myself. -
Bobbejaanland Discussion Thread
RCT3Bross replied to Noobitizer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm in shock. This is quite unexpected from Bobbejaanland. I love the concept with the 4 realms entree points and that the entree for both Typhoon and Sledge Hammer get moved. Typhoon's entree was never badly placed but replacing it there makes it better in my opinion. Sledge Hammer however had a bad place overall, the ride was there behind the treeline, quite hidden and far from a main pathway, placing that entree next to three other rides makes it feel less hidden. About the two new attractions. Naiads Waters seems so out of place here. Here we have wind represented by Typhoon the parks biggest thrill coaster to date, Earth by Sledge Hammer the parks biggest thrill flat-ride to date and Fire by Fury what seems to take Typhoon's spot as the parks biggest thrill coaster. Then we have water represented by Naiads Waters a water playground. I just find that funny, but a welcome addition to the park. Then Fury, I already wanted to revisit the park just knowing the lay-out of the coaster. It seemed like another solid ride to add to Bobbejaanland and I had a great excuse to reride Typhoon, what isn't a world class coaster but a lot of fun none the less, But seeing this I'm fore once excited to revisit the park, they not only add this solid ride but update the queue's for my two favorite rides in the park. I'm looking forward to April and see (pictures) of what the park has done so far to realize this and to June when I get to vist the park myself. -

I do remember that the park confirmed a unique element, I'm now confident that has to be a inversion, maybe one that counts as two (like a Batwing or Twisted Horseshoe). Also if Drop magazine also is said to be a reliable source comined with Looopings, who have proven to be reliable in my eye's, and this rumor has being around for a while now, I can no longer deny it and I have to say it's very very likely true. -
Walibi Holland Discussion Thread
RCT3Bross replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looopings seems to tackle a long going rumor about Untamed: Source. In short in english: The new coaster in Walibi Holland is not for people with a weak stomach. Rollercoaster Untamed, that opens July 1st, will have five inversions. This confirms Walibi-manageress Marscha van Till in talks with Looopings. What kind of elements the ride will feature will be announced by the park in the coming months. This will mean that Untamed has the most inversions of all the RMC's. This will also make it tie with Condor on having the most inversions on one ride in the Netherlands. I really don't know if I can trust this. Looopings has a reputation they wouldn't shout something like this if it isn't true according to their sources. On the other hand RMC hasn't done more then 4 inversions, that doesn't mean they can do 5, but why do that with such a small design? I've easily dismissed this rumor up until now because I heavily believed it wouldn't be more then 3 but now looopings also claimes 5. This makes me wonder what RMC has in store for us. I don't know if I'm exited by this prospect, on the one hand RMC can make a great ride with 3 or 5 inversion I have no doubt in that, on the other hand their inversions aren't what makes the rides great. -

RCT3Bross replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If I remember correctly that isn't coming. Yes it was mentioned somewhere in 2017 that a S&S 4D free Spin would be added on that location it was just a rumored option for the 2019 coaster as the park's manageress stated during the construction of Lost Gravity that in 2019 a new coaster would come. This rumor just made sense because well the park is known to take the easy route by Dutch fans. Nobody at that time dared to say Robin Hood would get an RMC treatment, because everybody believed the park wouldn't make a decision like that. I would say if this plan ended up in the fridge I wouldn't be mad if by 2022 or 2024 (asuming the park keeps up this building trent) the S&S Free Spin gets added to the line up. I mean the design is odd but unique for the region. Either that or tear down Condor for a B&M inverted, I'm allowed to dream. Edit: Found the original post that was placed on this Thread that mentioned the Free Spin (Page 86). It mentioned that acourding to insiders the ride could open by 2019 or 2020, this I assume is just the insider knowing at that time a new coaster would come not sure which one. Also it claimes that Looopings (the original source) was told by S&S that Walibi expressed intrest in the product. Who knows they might have been looking for the next coaster already or this used to be one of the idea's for the 2019 season. -

1. Name 3 of your favorite roller coasters, but not your top 3. Blue Fire (Europa park), Helix (Liseberg), Smiler (Alton Towers) 2. About how many different parks did you visit in 2018? 13. 3. Which 2018 park visit was your favorite? Alton Towers, because I look forward to it for so long. 4. Your favorite 2018 park addition (ride, food, show, etc)? Wicker man (Alton Towers) 5. What ride exceeded your expectations the most in 2018? Smiler (Alton Towers) I never expected a ride made of inversions to be so good. 6. Best meal/food at a park in 2018? Broodje Frikandel (Dutch meal) at the Efteling. 7. What was your favorite new coaster of 2018 NOT made by RMC or Larson? Wicker man (Alton Towers) 8. Name one park you will definitely visit in 2019. Walibi Holland, I mean Untamed I'm not missing that. 9. Best ride themed to a bird? Vogel Rok (Efteling) I mean it got a huge bird at the entrance I just love that. 10. Lamest ride/coaster you rode in 2018? Lame in the sence of boring? Then: I have to go with Tiki Waka (Walibi Belgium) Lame in the sence of bad then: Big one (Blackpool Pleasure Beach) I will never ever jump on that ride ever again. 11. What roller coaster currently sits at the top of your bucketlist? (degree of difficulty: NOT a new-for-2019 ride) Kingda Ka. I always wanted to ride the world's tallest roller coaster for the gimick but I might never get the chance. 12. What new-for-2019 ride or coaster are you most looking forward to? Untamed (Walibi Holland) A RMC close to home. 13. Name the first totally middle-of-the-road (not bad/not great) park that comes to mind. Walibi Belgium, still a perfect day filler but it doesn't have top tier rides. (This one was hard) 14. You're in Orlando and magically have a 1-hour ERT session on 1 coaster of your choice at any park in the city. You choose... Does Disney World count? If it does then Expedition Everest seems like fun. 15. Holiday In The Park vs. Winterfest. Who reigns supreme? I have no opinion haven't been to both. 16. Mystic Timbers mystery shed or Wicker Man fire infusion? Wicker Man's fire because I don't know whats in the shed. 17. Which Six Flags have you been to most recently? Never been to a Six Flags park, I have been to parks who have been owned by Six Flags however I doubt those count. 18. Intamin or Schwarzkopf? You may only choose one. Intamin for the Win. 19. Battle of Kings Coasters: Island or Dominion? Pick one. Hard to judge never been to any of these, Island seems to be more fun however. 20. What was the longest you waited for a ride/coaster in 2018? Fenix Toverland, on openings day was unable to open with the park I had to wait 3 hours and then was given a Wristband to come back and skip part of the Queue when it would be open that was an aditional 2 hours however in those 2 I did to a ride on Merlin's Quest the new boat ride. 21. What roller coaster have you ridden more than any other? Seeing my history with the Efteling and the Python I have to go with that one. 22. Best drop tower under 150 feet? I can't say I've done one. 23. Maverick or Millennium Force? (If you haven't been to CP, pick what you want to ride more) Never been there but heard more good about Maverick so I'm going with that one. 24. Log flumes or sky rides? You can only choose one. Flumes, I love a good flume that's why. 25. What are 3 things you enjoying doing at your home park other than riding rides? Sitting down on a quiet place listening to the surrounding noices, hearing strangers talk about the rides (this a fun hobby) and grabbing a quick bite. 26. What is your second favorite Cedar Fair park and why? Never been to any (Why are so many questions American specific this time?) 27. What is your home park and give us two good reasons why we should pay it a visit. Efteling, and a good one, uh 1) they have better theming then most other parks. 2) The park is very Nature heavy and that's quite unique. 28. Launch or Lift? Launch, nothing beats a ride with a good start. 29. Did you buy fast pass at all in 2018? I honestly never plan on buying one to begin with. 30. What is your least favorite wooden coaster? It used to be Robin Hood but that ride is history so now Bandit at Movie park Germany 31. Disney fanboys: cool or cult? Tend to stay away from them so no idea. 32. Best Batman themed ride? Never done one. 33. Name something that tend to take home from parks that you didn't bring with you. T-shirts of Roller Coasters. 34. Best wooden coaster over 110 feet tall? (rcdb will help you) Wildfire Kolmarden Zoo first ever RMC I've got to ride. 35. Have you ever been hit with something (loose change/a tree/vomit/etc) while riding something? Outside some rain drops no. 36. Skywarps: credits or no? State your case. Yes I tend to go with RCDB when it comes to things like this. 37. Turkey legs: nah or yaaaaassssss? Never had one if it's like chicken then hell yes. 38. What is the most recent B&M that you rode? Baron 1898 a week ago. 39. You can eat nothing but corn dogs, churros or funnel cake for the next 48 hours, which do you choose? Churros. 40. Post a great on-ride shot of you from 2018. (DO IT!) Would love to but no can't do, never buy these.

That video was a bit more interesting then the previous two. I already predicted the drop would be near 90 degrees down (I was thinking about 80 to 85 degrees) because well RMC is known to do that. Also there are 2 shots on the Turn around filled with Ledgers that hint towards a Zero G roll and it seems to go almost all the way down, what I hope they would do, before entering a hill. Coming back on the Ledgers, I always thought those would come from the same plant as the track. I didn't know those where made local. I'm still exited that this ride is so close to home. -

I'm still in denial, mostly because I can't wait for 2020 to ride F.L.Y. No I'm hoping on a 2020 season start opening now. I am however confused by the game-plan. I mean pictures of the construction site are a rarity and recently a new one was posted on the web (I will respect Phantasialand wishes and will not post these pictures here) but on those pictures there doesn't seem to be a lot of changes from the ones posted in September, other then the fact they might have started foundations of the hotel, a nice decorative wall and a track piece or 3 more. Even the giant wall separating Rookburgh and Wuze is still bare, however there might be some scaffolding on that end now. My point this construction seems very slow comparing it to Taron and Chiapas. But that can be because this area gets a hotel. -
Efteling Discussion Thread
RCT3Bross replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Baron is the last (outdoor) coaster to close when it's freezing outside. I went last Saturday and the weather was around 0 degrees Celsius and only the Python was closed all day. Weather might be the biggest concern in January especially now because the weather is really unpredictable, Yesterday we had snow today I walked around with my coat open. That said crowds should be low, it's a week day in the second week after a holiday period, I'd say 40 minute Queue's at Max and that would only count for: Baron 1898, Symbolica and Droom Vlucht. Anyway for what I came to do here in the first place: There is a major update on the expansion. 4 Parties have gone to the highest court in the Netherlands for one final attempted to prevent the plans form going through. One of them even asked to suspend the plan until the judge made his decision. In January the judge will reveal when the case is handled and if the question of suspension is valid enough to wait until he makes his rule. What this means is that the park as of now isn't allowed to expand its borders. If the judge decides that the question of suspension doesn't have a valid enough reason they are allowed to expand, however the judge can still chance the agreement the park has with the local government and things can get complicated. The judge also has to handle the case within 12 months and then has a maximum of 6 weeks before the final rule is said and done. (I've been told that) After the rule the judgment is final, there is no need for further alterations or no further complications. I thought this lat major hurdle was worth sharing. If I can I will try to update when there is more news. -

I kind of like that it reopens next year. I never took the chance to ride it back in 2007 when I was the last time at the park. I love odd rides and I was sad to see it close in 2017. After all I heard about the comfort of the ride I never expected to get the chance myself so it's a shock to be sure. I don't care how bad the ride is I will take my chance if I get to Italy in 2019, just for the experiance of oddness. -

I've been to Phantasialand this Saturday (I have pictures but hey bring 0 value as it's mostly the wall) and I have to say the wall was a lot smaller then expected. Anyways I thought it blended in perfectly in the environment of the Fantasy theme. I start to wonder if at the start of next season we can walk up to the wall as that part seems very far. Also I just can across a picture of some yellow marker tape at the Berlin Rookburgh passage, People assume there might be an announcement soon at that end, curious about that.
