  1. It could be worse- "STEEL HYPERLITE: THE RIDE EXPERIENCE!" but also a lot better...
  2. Just remember this: Sexual Harrassment is nothing to be laughed at. After all... Her Ass Ment nothing to me...It was her tits I was after... I'm not at my computer with the program on it- but I will be later on. If somebody gets to it before I do, Mazel Tov- if not, I''ll be at that machine around 1PM PDT- and I can run it from then.
  3. Week 15 is now CLOSED! We will tabulate up the points, and then post the results later on today- as well as announce the next contest! Stay tuned!
  4. As usual, Hanno, Your pictures are stunning- but not enough StarPort 86 pics (But then again, I never tire of Space Mountain pics...)
  5. It's amazing to me how non-Disney this Disney park looks- the total immersion in theming is over-the-top good, and it doesn't end up looking 'theme-parky' with excess inappropriate details, but rather- just right in it's details. Why can't we get THIS park back in the USA???
  6. What browser are you using? In some cases, you may have to add .SC6 to the end of the file name to get it to work. There have been issues with this in the past, especially when people are using different browsers. If that's not the problem, e-mail me the error at QueerRudie@themeparkreview.com Thanks, R.D.
  7. Totally forgotten now but Disney's America despite the fact that the project didn't happen actually had played a MAJOR role in bringing legal casino gambling to nearby Charles Town, West Virginia. A few months before Disney pulled out of the project, the voters of Jefferson County, WV ( Charles Town ) voted against the idea of slots at the local Charles Town Racetrack even though they were warned that the track was in deep trouble and would close if the slots were voted down. The reason many voted no was that the voters had this idea that if Disney would dump their project in Virginia...then Disney would head to WEST VIRGINIA !! Now why would people believe such stuff is ..well who knows !! But anyway the day after it was announced that Disney would NOT build in Virginia, Jefferson County did approach Disney about giving them the land of Charles Town Races for their park. Ah it didn't take very long for Disney to tell Jefferson County..NO to their idea. With Disney saying they weren't interested in the Charles Town Racetrack a few years later the vote to allow slots came up once again to the local voters but then time they voted YES !!! Today The Charles Town Races is now called The Hollywood Casino at the Charles Town Races. Local gamblers can thank Disney's decision to pull out of Virginia for this. http://www.hollywoodcasinocharlestown.com/ Actually- that wouldn't have fit- at all. Disney wanted a base of 6,000 acres- and having been up to Charles Town Races (And slots- from the VERY beginning, as in: 500 slots, the the temporary building, the paddock slots, etc.) the site wouldn't have been nearly big enough to hold the park- let alone the other 5850 acres of park space needed. Would Disney have used all 6,000 acres? No- not at all. In the end, there were plans for Disney's America, plus a Water park, six hotels, and a second-gate park (DLVA anyone?) plus numerous other small facilities. I remember watching the land around the site jump up in value overnight- with most of the major hotel coporations walking onto the land- and snapping it up as fast as they could. The site was donated (As a tax write-off no less) to the BSA for future use- after the project was cancelled. I was upset by this- but it wasn't the first park to have occupied that EXACT SAME SITE... Remember Marriott's Great America? The third park in the chain would have been located in the same place- but never was able to get beyond the NIMBY audience there.
  8. Brandy- It's looking great so far! I hope that somebody smuggles a camera in for you in the final costuming- and with the rest of the cast!
  9. What a great site with tons of images! Thanks for posting the links! I saw ads for Heritage years ago but never visited the place. I've been over there in more recent years but little evidence of the waterpark still exists. Buildings and grounds are being used for other ministries currently... so some renovation seems to have taken place, but a long way to go for complete restoration... or replacement. I always remember photos of people riding the speed slide(s). There's a famous image of Jerry Falwell riding it in a suit because of a promise he'd made. It's a photo I'm sure tons of people have seen, or that has been linked to many times, but can be found HERE. Anyway, thanks again for the link post... great defunct park photo TR. Back on topic... the proposed Disney project up in Northern VA would have been pretty interesting. I'm going to botch any details about it so I'll let this link fill in some specifics. Sometime in 2003-2006 span the Boy Scouts acquired the land that was originally going to facilitate the Disney park. The "National Capital Area Council" of the BSA turned it into a summer and activities camp/reservation. I wonder what Disney could have done with the place? Re: Heritage U.S.A. - I love Urban/Modern Archeology- and Heritage U.S.A. fits the bill perfectly of what happens in a short 22 years since failure- save the recent attempts by MorningStar Indust... er Ministries to renovate and turn the park into "G-d's Work" again... (Insert Twilight Zone Music here!). There are some great areas that are yet to be done- especially with regards to parks and related! Re: Disney's America- I made the trip to the expo centre in Haymarket, VA back in 1994 (June of) with the model of the expected park's finished results- and I'll be gosh-diddly-arned if the park wasn't taken elementally piece by piece to Disney's Construction Adventure in California- down to the 'Looping Boardwalk Coaster' and other signifigant elements. Sadly, we have yet to see the "Inverted Industrial Revolution" coaster built- nor some of the better ideas for Ride-throughs. Perhaps this will eventually be the Fifth Gate for WDW...
  10. Although they might have tried for CaroWinds- they did succeed in building (Albeit with some serious difficulties) Heritate, U.S.A. in Fort Mill- a long defunct waterpark with a train loop and go Karts. The property itself was abandoned after PTL went bankrupt in the early 90s- as a result of tax and security fraud. There are some GREAT pics of Heritage U.S.A. HERE including some of the proposed rides, shows and attractions that the park would have featured- had it survived. More pictures are HERE of the park in it's decay-
  11. Ummmm.... StormRunner CAME WITH RCT III as an installed track- along with the Hershey's Chocolate stall and the Reece's Peanut Butter Cup Spin. If you're uploading that track to TPR, Shame, Shame, Shame on you. And other bad things will happen, too!
  12. SkyRush just doesn't sound right- it's a drop-tower ride name, not a coaster name... (Of course, I say this and recall... It's called Cheetah Hunt, instead of Cheetaka...)
  13. Anton SMILED when he saw that helix on the far end...
  14. Agreed- If I were a Fourth Grade teacher, I'd have failed quite a few kids today. PLEASE make our lives easier by CHECKING YOUR SPELLING, GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION, PLEASE!
  15. Oaks Park... Imagine if they still had the "ZIP" coaster from H.G. Travers... I dream- Great PhotoTR either way- interesting how the smaller parks tend to have that 'carnival' feel to them- despite how old they might be!
  16. I saw that!! I also saw her on the Today Show. She had NO control over those kids, how the hell she keeps telling people she can ' do it all herself' and 'doesn't need help' is complete BS. I can't believe they put them all in business class. I would have walked right off that plane after seeing them on it! I'd have invited all the children to go and play with the blue water- and then give mommy a BBBIIIIIIIIGGGG HUGGG!!!!
  17. Hmmmm... Easy list Rancid Specials The Beat Madness Bodysnatchers Bad Manners Selecter Flogging Molly Dropkick Murphys Mighty Mighty Bosstones RBF Dusty Springfield Aretha Franklin Joan Sutherland Natalie Dessay (She DOES walk on water, you know!) Renee Fleming (I know- the weirdest list on this thread- but hey, I've got diverse tastes!)
  18. Done- The reason I put it up to 50 pts. was to test something that was producing an anomaly in the coupon generating system- I know it was the weekend and traffic would be slow. I did get the results back- but I have no problem announcing it as a 'Special' for the week- I'd be curious to see if the Warrior Marketing would work well on a 'on occcasional' basis.
  19. The Guggenheim reference is to the Guggenheim museum in NYC. A large tower was added to the classic Frank Lloyd structure, making it look like a gigantic toilet, complete with 'flush handle' balcony at the top of the tower. Nothing to see there, move along please. (However, with as much publicity as they're putting into a new toilet structure, I sure hope they're awful purty when they're done!)
  20. Guys and Girls- you have till midnight tonight to rack up some points- the more tracks you upload, the more points you score! This is a rare opportunity: For the price of 10 tracks, you get 500 points- which can be used for a FREE TPR DVD Download! (What are you waiting for? You KNOW you can go through your old parks and earn some MAJOR points for those rides you've built!)
  21. It's gone full tilt boogy today- HP's got bumperstickers up EVERYWHERE from O'Connell Pluming and Drain- featuring references again to the #12, plus MANY other interesting phrases. Also: Nantimi appears to be back folks- as there's been some passing references more updated recently to the site. Here are the pics, posted originally by Walter White (From Facebook's HP2012 page)
  22. Ummmm- not a facepalm. I for one think there should be some sort of seating on -every- major ride for people with disabilites/challenges. It doesn't have to be always used as such- but a seat that could be easily, quickly and safely modified for guests who need additional restraints (Amputees) or who can't easily get into/out of a seat. Being handicapped myself, I find that a few rides DO have adaptations for getting into/out of seats- and differently built restraints. Volcano:TBC for example, has one seat on each train where the side-bar for the leg can be lowered out of place- making it easier for me (and others, I'm sure) to get onto/off of the ride. There are two restraints- on the side and in front, to prevent any problems along the way. While I don't stand there and scream EVERY ride should be handicapped accessible (It's simply NOT practical, even if well designed) it should be a consideration for all rides. I'm not going to cry if a park has a ride I can't go on due to the seats/restraints- nor will I force a park to let me on if I can't ride.
  23. EPIC WIN! "New for 2007-2008-2009-2010-2011-2012-2013...
  24. He works at Busch Gardens. He has the inside scoop. Just like the Dippin' dots guy... Or that person you know who has a 'friend' who works at...
  25. 15 out of 20- and I botched one of the Massachusettes parks.... But hey- Schwarzkopf Smoothness is MORE than appropriate!
