  1. GREAT F'ING article! That's one of those long-lost Disneyfied legend rides, much akin to the Bald Mountain projects... Am I the only one who remembers that Paramount was planning the ECHO Park project for KD in 1994/1995?
  2. Agreed- I like his 'lack' of info all over.... But the new pic is WONDERFUL!
  3. LOL- I'm sort of liking that people don't know who CPM is- but with the new 'pic' that Matt came up with, it's sort of a better personality- Besides- CPM has so much more to play with over time! LOL
  4. Does the train feature OTSRs or Lap Bars
  5. Has the ride suffered cosmetic surgery/reprofiling?
  6. Does the ride reside in a place where Hebrew is the native language?
  7. Was it relocated from one park to another?
  8. Sfgamguy: I'm sorry- there are components of your download for the ToTW contest that don't work with people playing RCT II- not to mention the add-ons it needed to install. bbt-67: Holy mother of G-d. I'm blown away by that ride- it's OUTSTANDING! FIVE STARS.
  9. Why didn't you also upload it here? Are we chopped liver or something?
  10. That's AMAZING!!!! I -love- it!
  11. THIS is what I needed during Culinary School! "That thing looks like an Autopsy." - Weeza, 'Steel Magnolias' And thanks for the clarification... it makes me want to run out to Outback for lunch. MMMmmmm
  12. OK: I've upped the points to 50 for this weekend only- as I'd like to see if the coupon system is generating correctly- and to drive some additional traffic before next week's TPR Challenge rolls out. Points bonus weekend will end on Sunday at Midnight PDT- and I'll reset the points then.
  13. Ok.... Now I'm probably going to regret asking this: But what in hades is Meat-Cow or Meat-Sheep? It/They sound like something that's a cross between organ meat and an artificially flavored tofu treat. And the photos once again are stellar- nothing quite like seeing how strangely wonderful and so interestingly bizarre Japan's coasters are- not to mention the parallel universe where TOGO coasters DON'T suck.... as bad.
  14. Coming from years in Airline Revenue Managment and related (The people who price tickets, and allocate seats, etc.) I can say that most airlines which offer an F/J class cabin have a set of unwritten- but well used- rules on upgrading, de-listing, and bumping passengers. In this, you might have one F/J class seat left- and in the hierarchy of airlines, there's a given set of who gets upgraded.. but it's not often followed. Gate agents will look around: If one of the two people is an obnoxious, loudmouth pain in the ass, and the other is polite, quiet and such, the polite one will ALWAYS get the upgrade- even if the Pain in the ass is higher in the tier system of a Frequent Flyer Program. The same can be said for upgrading children to F/J class: If there is a child on the upgrade list (Usually travelling with a passenger who HAS upgrade status) and the child is misbehaving, chances are they won't get the upgrade. On the other hand: if the child is being polite, quiet, etc. they will often get the upgrade. Gate agents, my friends, are the people one should be very nice to, as they are the ones who handout upgrades to F/J class- and they are the ones with the power!
  15. I think with the current spread of colours we're close to finding that out... but there's something about the local locales of each organization that's making me think we've got another buried clue along the way... I'm also thinking there's another anagram, too- as in the initials of each company might be a clue in that as well: R.I.T. L.M.B. O.C.D (And if there's a fourth, well... who knows???)
  16. Ugh- i get my years mixed up.. go figure. As far as the 'rumor mill' went, it was becoming a parts nightmare, as it is listed as the first Enterprise opened up in the US- whether or not the parts issue is true or not is the question. It was the first built, and usually the first built of a ride tends to have some nasty issues over the long-run (Look at prototype airplanes!) .
  17. I've said it before- I'll say it again: STUNNING, MIKE, STUNNING. You school -everybody- in building buildings! The concept of the dark ride is amazing- and beyond over the top!
  18. I'm surprised that other KD fans don't lament these two more: Time shaft and Apple Turnover- two of the park's finest 'flat' rides- and the only two spinning rides I willingly go on. Apple turnover was a core ride at KD from 1975- as one of the first Schwarzkopf Enterprises. Time shaft, well, it was cheezy, it smelled funny, it rattled like a ghost was stuck in it (Hmmmm...) and often people would lose their lunch on it. BUT- it was still a great way to hide from the sun, heat and humidity of Virgina's somewhat brutal summers. Apple Turnover is a ride I missed from that point forward- the Huss Enterprises just don't cut it when it comes to the feel of an Enterprise- Yet another example of Anton's greatness...
  19. I don't see Intamin really in the running- but I could see them doing something truly spectacular from Zierer if Verbolten is a success at BGW. Mack is also a possibility (Picture a 'smaller' Blue Fire- but without the 'launch' but rather a chain lift. ) If Arrow was still around, a custom multi-looping coaster (Three or four inversions) would have fit the park perfectly. Nah, Laura- You're not weird for not liking the triple-down. It's not my favorite part, either. But then again, people call me weird, too...
