  1. ^I'm guessing coaster manufacturers have their own patents on their track designs. Plus, who would want to use Arrow track?
  2. I forgot to mention during my account of my day at the resort yesterday that tons of fluid was leaking from the right arm of the Buzz Lightyear animatronic in the line for Astroblasters all over the platform he stands on. It was really weird. Anyone ever see something like that before?
  3. I went to the parks today for the first time since the week before the re-opening of DCA. Here's my late thoughts: I was not impressed much at all with the refurbishment of the Matterhorn (besides the awesome outside of the mountain), mainly due to the new trains. I also had what seemed like slow ride (this was on the left side?). Screamin' was running really well, along with Big Thunder Mountain. I was really surprised with Ghost Galaxy, whose outside effects on the outside of Space Mountain along with the audio playing in the queue line impressed me. I still loved the effects on the ride as I did last year, and the ride was actually providing some good airtime. I finally got to ride Radiator Springs Racers and visit Cars Land. I thought it was very immersive and is probably the most immersive between the two parks. I thought the ride was absolutely amazing (and my car won). The animatronics were awesome, particularly the mouths of the cars. I didn't feel the cars were particularly slow, they felt just fast enough to me to simulate racing.
  4. I'm going to go with Phoenix here. I absolutely love the mixture of the buzz bars plus the bunny hills at the end that can get you near-standing up.
  5. This will be a great addition to Universal Orlando! I absolutely love Transformers at USH, so I'm sure it'll be great in Orlando and a big success (with a nicer facade I'm guessing).
  6. I'm guessing all existing contracts will continue and finish out. I do hope the show continues regardless, it's pretty awesome.
  7. I do believe that Disney will eventually open a third park in Anaheim, and it will probably center around Marvel and LucasFilm. However, I really don't care about how it's going to happen, I'll care when it's actually open. Until then, I'll just enjoy what's already available in Anaheim, which is a whole lot.
  8. I'm excited to see more construction pics soon on the Full Throttle. This is because I'm more excited about the shortening of other lines in the park than the Full Throttle itself though.
  9. I really hope they keep that menu alive, as I actually liked that place. Not to mention the dole whips, which I would really hope return at some point.
  10. Tatsu is most likely going to always run with two trains max (minus when the ride opened) because one train is usually always in rehab. I just want the ride running more efficiently, I don't understand why the park doesn't put better ride ops on such a popular and standout ride for the park.
  11. I don't see Knott's being at fault here if the lady did call the scare actor the F word. It really is a bummer if scare actors aren't allowed to talk to people anymore.
  12. ^ S:EFK will close down with any rain. I'm not sure which rides specifically close with rain, but most rides can stay open if the rain isn't too heavy. X2 and Goliath can actually be run in the rain if it's not too hard, but X2 shuts down with wind, which might come if it starts raining harder.
  13. M2S and M2R are now both live on the App Store! Both apps are going for $1.99. Thanks to those who helped test early builds!
  14. My pick would be between Bizarro and Dominator. I'm going to go with Bizarro because I really enjoyed the effects, especially during my ride in the rain.
  15. Wow, this seems very awesome! More reason to head out over there.
  16. Both apps are currently awaiting approval from Apple. Here is a video demo of M2S! http://player.vimeo.com/video/49737080
  17. ^M2S : Music2Spotify and M2R : Music2Rdio will both retail at $1.99. Also, they have both been submitted to the App Store! Hopefully they'll both go live in about a week.
  18. Looks like *a* Big Thunder Mountain to me. If it is, I'm not sure which one...
  19. I don't know if this is just Magic Magic Mountain, but I'll definitely be getting the Gold Pass for next year... Way more benefits than the Xtreme pass including Hurricane Harbor admission (finally!)...
  20. Since they are also having a "themed area," I'm guessing that they are going to put the slingshot there. My only complaint about the ride is length, but it looks like they made the ride length smaller to save space for this new park area. Also, it looks like the top hat will have some serious airtime if it's really as steep as it looks in the video, which is something the park desperately needs.
  21. Unless the park gets shut down, I don't believe GR will ever go away. It really is a huge staple in the park.
  22. The app will hopefully be submitted in the next few days and launch in a week or two! Many design changes have taken place. We now have a Facebook page and website up and running if anyone wants to stay updated on the app's progress easily! The final name of the app is M2S : Music2Spotify. The app will be solely focused on Spotify, with M2R : Music2Rdio launching later. EDIT: M2R: Music2Rdio will be launching at the same time!
  23. I think the person was suggesting an idea for when Montezooma's Revenge reaches the end of its life cycle or can't be maintained due to lack of parts, etc. While a nice coaster, I would completely disagree with your statement calling it one of the best coasters in CA. I really don't have any complaints about Knott's building a large coaster, if they build one. This park needs something new, and as long as it's fun I won't care what they decide to add to the park.
