How many times the same ride in a day ?
dylanreich replied to mingsai's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That is impressive for the ride. On a similar note, I got 3 rides of Kingda Ka in a day. That was like a miracle, and all were under 30 minutes, (two under 5!!) thank you cool, rainy day. Last summer during our day at SFGAdv with TPR, I think we got about 7 rides on KK. One was even a rollback! Dude, that rollback was so killer. Love how the camera system took a picture on the way back (bought it too). -
Maybe because the "broken part" on the working train hasn't broke- yet, so why put it down if it still works safely? If it was a safety issue with the part, since the trains are the same, I don't think the other train would be running at all. It wouldn't make sense to me if they had a "let the part break before we do anything" mentality. My guess is that its something to do with the wear and tear on the train and keeping the trains in good condition.

So are there any concrete rumors on whatever's new for next year? Aren't the chain announcements coming in August, or am I incorrect on that? I know last year there was A LOT of speculation, this year it's meh. I guess no one's expecting much for next year after Full Throttle this year, but I still expect MM to be MM and add a coaster that they don't need.

Green Lantern at SFMM 36 times in one day. This was before there was an official single rider line and before they modified the ride (it was awesome at the time). What a day, flipped 6 times one of those rides. -
Sounds like "Now the Xtreme Park" and "Better than Nothing"-type thinking that's typical of SFMM... So the way to do business is to hype up your big bad new ride and then disappoint those customers who bought into the hype with terrible operations. And people wonder why SFMM draws the clientele that it draws. Since when is the choice between terrible operations and no ride, or no park at all? This is parly why SFMM is stuck in the rut that it's in. They spend money on these rides that they can't afford to run any better than one-train op, staff them for the most part with the scrap heap of the local teenager scene, and justify it by saying that's better than not having an attraction that can compete in the SoCal theme park market. It's a sad, sad way to run any business, much less a theme park. Any other self-respecting theme park would want to try to be better than that. Not SFMM! What was that line from Cool Runnings? "You're going nowhere...and you're thrilled to death about it." Yep, that about sums it up. Please do tell about these terrible Full Throttle operations. IMO only Tatsu still has poor operations along with Superman. Riddlers is getting it's third train back which should help that out. It seems to me they've worked very hard to have the best operations possible on their new rides starting with Green Lantern and Lex Luthor (which still has GREAT operations). I don't like defending the park much, but when it comes to things they're doing right and improving heavily on, good on them.

Goliath is just as great as it always has been. The MCBR is there for a good reason, if you went through there at full speed..you'd probably be injured, its a very sharp turn..it would be very very bad. The slow to a near stop is by design, and is actually one of the cool parts of the ride because it does a very slow dip/turn that hangs you out the side of the car before you start the helix portion of the ride. Agreed. It's pretty intense to me. Didn't they add the big MCBR stop not too long after the ride opened because it was actually too intense and people were commonly blacking out?

Lying Test Seats!!!
dylanreich replied to palmerleeberry's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In Dominator's case, did you ask if they had larger seats available? I know B&M usually does stuff like that, so maybe you had to find the larger seats (which maybe match their test seat). -
Would they have room near the back of the back by Scrambler and the bumper cars for that? I just REALLY want too see a Maxair in the YOLOPlaza. Or MM could continue the fair ride thing (weird portable Slingshot) and also put in a GRAVITRON, that would actually be really cool at a park like SFMM, but I guess they already have WW: Lasso of Truth (I crack up every time I see that name).

Why does everything think a wing rider will happen soon? They're nice rides and all, but I'm content with the existing wing rider, X2. In fact, I bet the GP would say that the ride is just a newer version of X2. If B&M starts making 4D coasters, then well... Something for Hurricane Harbor would be nice though. Maybe they'll do like a Maxair in MM and a water ride in HH, that's be sweet. I don't see them not adding something on the MM side of things.
