  1. This is going to be an amazing ride.
  2. OMG, they had a ride down for a day due to technical difficulties and one of the least popular coasters in the park (out of 17) had one train running for whatever reason (probably one was getting rehab'd or had issues). How baffling! I guess I could say I'm a bit baffled at how they keep so many of their coasters running throughout the year!
  3. The cool tunnel in Space Mountain (DLR) before the lift would have to be my favorite. It's even more awesome (and creepy) when they do Ghost Galaxy for Halloween.
  4. No, how is that possible? They're mostly wood with steel wheels. When soda worth pennies is sold for $5 at a theme park, it isn't too hard to imagine.
  5. Disney will always have staff at the entrance of the attraction when it is down AND will have it posted on their website when an attraction is down for rehab/extended downtime. Magic Mountain has staff in front of rides when they are temporarily broken down, and at the very least puts a sign up blocking the entrance when a ride is down for refurb, and..
  6. I like how Disneyland had RSR closed and everyone game them a pass for techincal difficulties but Full Throttle closed? The park should have told everyone and screwed up the operations.
  7. I'm definitely going to see Disneyland's Christmas stuff. Haunted Mansion Holiday makes the trip worth it to me by itself, but it might be the only park Christmas event I go to this year. I may visit Knott's though, as I have never been there around this time and would like to check out Knott's Merry Farm, as I'm sure Knott's will look fantastic as well.
  8. I don't know where you got the first part of that since in that area the park has only improved lately, maybe a steady improvement over the past year or two in fact. I totally think they could get way better, but let's not say they're getting worse when they're not. We already know X2 has been down while they replace the lift chain. So since on one off day Full Throttle and Ninja are down they're so inconsistent? Even with X2 down indefinitely, on any given day it is very likely almost every other coaster is open. Oh, and people talking about how disappointed people might be about Full Throttle not being open, do you forget that Disneyland closes down stuff all the time? I would imagine the tourists who paid to fly in from other countries would be pretty disappointed that Indy was down for rehab, Space Mountain was down for rehab, Big Thunder, Matterhorn, etc.
  9. Well, you can still see it in Florida and if you want to hear it in Japanese, you can do that, too! I wonder how the Japanese takes on "I'll be back" and "hasta la vista baby" sound like.
  10. This. I guess after riding it so many times you get used to the roughness, but it can certainly have good days and your seating on the ride can greatly affect it. The first drop still makes me ride it despite everything else.
  11. Not a coaster, but I thought T2:3D at USH was AWESOME; I always made sure to go see it when at the park. I'm sure Minion Mayhem will be good, but T2 still held up nicely IMO. I guess you could say it had a good retro feel to it near the end.
  12. I'd be surprised if they DIDN'T do something like that, we all know how much they love tearing things down and starting fresh.
  13. Let's just go to OTSR's, the leg restrains are really bad.
  14. I don't know why you would question the safety of the ride... If it got seat belts, I bet it will be because Six Flags wanted them, and not because Premier thought they needed them for the ride to safe.
  15. I'll be down at Knott's way more when that happens. Wrong SoCal park. Exactly; I think people are starting to have that mentality with Knott's, myself included. They haven't really done anything negative, but maybe everyone is just looking for a little bit more from them... Knott's, If you're not going to give us a big coaster, at least fix up Ghostrider.
  16. LOL, what happened to all the people saying that it was Rocky Mountain treatment or bust and that topper track wouldn't cut it? Anyways, I agree, I'll gladly take the topper track since it's better than nothing.
  17. It probably won't happen since there's going to be a heavy Star Wars presence, but I still have a hope that they will put in a Tron light cycle ride. Unrelated, I rode the Jingle Cruise today and found it to be pretty funny. I'd say it was definitely worth the 25 or so minutes we waited.
  18. It's great that they're doing this, and although it probably should have gotten taken down many years back, I think they should have taken care of other things first, like not having some of the worst bathrooms out there.
  19. I haven't been to central Florida, but it'd be hard for me to imagine SoCal parks beating Central Florida just by what's on the table. BUT... I'd probably still want to live here in SoCal for the weather, sports, and amazing Mexican food. Oh, and the lack of traffic! Can someone acknowledge something being better than something else but not have it as their favorite? I don't see my favorite rides changing much after visiting Central Florida (we'll see), so SoCal would be my favorite with more weak spots. I just love having X2, Tatsu, and Indiana Jones(best ride ever!) all within 45 minutes of me...
  20. I went last night to Fright Fest for the first time, and I came away relatively impressed (by Six Flags standards). There were two or three "bad" mazes, and the rest varied from okay to awesome. My whole group thought Willoughby's was easily the best maze out of all of them (the special effects!). We decided to get the express maze pass, and boy was it totally worth it. It was a crowded night, so there were very long lines for the mazes. With the express pass, we never waited more than 5 minutes for any of the mazes, with the high end being 5 minutes for Willoughby's. I would high recommend the pass for next year. The scare zones weren't bad at all, although one or two felt like there should have been more monsters walking around. The ones on stilts near Tatsu are around the park were awesome. Overall, I came away impressed with the park for once. Oh, and we left at 11:00 (long before closing) and on the way out saw one of the longest lines I've seen for funnel cakes. I couldn't imagine the line at closing...
  21. Can't wait to get out there and ride it! It'll be my first El Loco...
  22. I have a feeling that since Batman is going to be more popular with the trains going backward, they will get the effects going again.
  23. I am going to guess that if they are broken, SFMM probably won't waste the money in trying to repair them. I think the park said in their Q&A at WCB 2012 that they actually have someone on staff full-time who works on X2's speakers. It's just an always-losing battle, but at least there are stretches of time where the sound does work. It's better than nothing.
  24. That looked like a pretty fun trip! I'll be going to Fright Fest for the first time this month, and it looks like it'll be pretty good! But, shouldn't these guys be out at night? Beware kids, YOLO
  25. Agreed. Just bring on more Pirates fire lol. I'm definitely going to see this version with high hopes and will actually go get my fastpass in the morning.
