  1. What would they need to close the ride for exactly?
  2. I remember having a ride back before they added weights to the ride vehicles or whatever they did, when I got put with a heavy-set man with two 9 or 10 year olds on the other side. Six spins in one ride. Wish they'd bring the ride back to opening-day status. ^LOL that's a positive improvement to the park.
  3. ^You have some very nice points, especially with the DC Universe makeover. I think the park has actually gotten very good with theming, at least with some of their latest rides (I thought the GL queue was good, and the Lex theming is maybe even better). I think the standards having been slowly but steadily raising for the park and people's expectations weren't met with the YOLO area. Maybe I just wasn't expecting much in the fist place. I just ride the coasters and ignore everything else (this includes being weary of which bathrooms I go too, hehe). I'm really looking forward to 2014 at this point, I have a feeling that whatever new ride or improvements come will make everyone happy.
  4. I agree with this completely. Who gives a crap as long as the ride is enjoyable? No one goes there for anything other than to ride "extreme" coasters. Don't like the music they play? Don't like how the area looks? Don't like the branding? You don't have to go there. When the park starts adding bad coasters (GL? maybe..) I'll have reason to slam the park. I just don't get people who complain when they keep going to the park; if you don't like what you see, don't go back. Most people would probably enjoy the park a lot more if they just accepted the weaknesses and enjoyed the positives, this thread plays out like a bad soap opera.
  5. ^^LOL of course, that's the best "attraction" at the park.
  6. Everyone talking about how SFMM should stop adding coasters don't realize that adding coasters is pretty much their only way of getting people to go to SFMM over any other theme park in SoCal.
  7. Wow, that actually looks pretty fun. IDK that I would have wanted it over YOLOcoaster, but maybe it could go in Dejavu's old spot.
  8. I'm really hopeful that Full Throttle will have a somewhat significant effect on the lines for the rest of the coasters in the park. It would just be an overall better day at the park with shorter lines for the big coasters.
  9. I think they'll definitely put another coaster in there at some point. No reason not to use that space instead of tearing a coaster down for that purpose.
  10. Let's keep in mind that the park doesn't have a full offseason to do construction work. They have to manage all of their normal operations and also keep working on the refurbishment schedules of all of their other coasters. As long as the ride delivers when it opens, I don't care too much right now about their construction time.
  11. I ask this question without knowing the true answer: Would SFMM go faster with the construction and opening of their rides if it would make them more money? I feel like they would. On the other hand, they don't have to have a rational explanation because they're SFMM, YOLO!
  12. The problem with that plan is that there are many more busy days when schools are out than there are when schools are in. Days like you experienced suck, but are much less frequent. Your odds are much better when school is in. I wish the SFMM passes allowed this, but they don't..after you reserve the ride the display just shows which ride you reserved and gives you the option to cancel the reservation, you have to cancel to reserve a different ride. The idea is that you queue up your next ride right after the park employee scans your FP, saving you possibly quite a bit of time as you can be waiting for some time after the FP scan point.
  13. Doesn't some sort of computer run the car/seat movements during the ride? (Not really sure that that's the case, just taking a guess here)
  14. I think the park is paying for licensing but choosing not to officially tie them together. Some of the letters in the two versions pictured are VERY close to their counterparts and the two logos overall are just too similar... My two cents.
  15. While the view in any row but the front on B&M inverts isn't that good, I still prefer the forcefulness that can be had in the very back, especially on layouts such as Batman.
  16. Actually that POV shows a pretty clear view of what a ride on Insane looks like. It has not been neutered, just adjusted so that it won't flip around (complete rotations) during the beginning and middle of the ride. Isn't being "adjusted" so that it doesn't flip the same as being neutered?
  17. ^Yea, Viper especially is a definite people eater.
  18. I think as long as it doesn't have any issues this is going to be really fantastic.
  19. To be fair, I highly doubt improving operations around the park would do much to improve their overall bottom line. That doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see that happen. There's always things that would be nice to have, and these thoughts/wants are what goes along with being an enthusiast; I'm sure you have your list of things you'd like to see from certain parks as well. Seeing a POV for an upcoming ride just happens to be one of those things for me. I never acted like the park owed anything to anyone either. IMO, I just posted a thought and wasn't trying to attack the park or say they owed anyone something, it's not like a lack of a full POV isn't going to stop me from going to the park when Full Throttle opens.
  20. ^It's a little annoying the other parks do this and not SFMM, unless it's a corporate thing and they just don't care.
  21. Is there even a real animated POV of this? I know the announcement trailer was labeled a POV and you basically get the whole ride from that, but still. Their other announced rides got full POV videos.
  22. Doubt it, it only went up yesterday. If you saw it yesterday on this page, I'm sure you would remember it. lol *looks at page 2908* I guess my sarcasm was missed. I was trying to point out that the same video was posted near the bottom of page 2908.
  23. I'm actually really looking forward to the flyers at Knott's!
