  1. I do NOT like tornadoes. Severe weather has always freaked me out to heck and back, and even if there's just really high winds I tend to get a little scared. If there's a storm you'll usually find me close to people checking the weather every 2 seconds to see when it'll stop. I have to say I have been lucky with them though... I grew up in Ohio and the closest I've seen to a tornado was the clouds starting to swirl (it touched down a ways from us). I also managed to not experience an earthquake even though I lived in L.A. for six years. I can't imagine how scared I'd be if there was actually a tornado in my area someday. :shudders:
  2. I guess I should ask here. I found Psyclone to be rough as f**k. I was laughing when we pulled back into the station as to how much the coaster had lived up to its reputation. It hurt, but I was expressing more of a "OMFG that sucked" pain than anything. What can I expect from Mean Streak, possessing this mentality?
  3. Here's a new one. I need to dye my hair though.
  4. If you look on CP"s website, it says the bonus is $.35 an hour for every hour you work March 3 through November 2nd, and $1.00 an hour for Halloweekends (starting September 8th). You have to work through your entire contract to get the bonus though. Also, I hope you said you wanted housing when you interviewed, because I don't think you can just walk up when you process in and say, "Hey, I want housing". Hope that helped.
  5. I've always loved amusement parks. When I was four my aunt and uncle took me on a mini road trip which included the Cleveland Zoo, Conneaut Lake, and Cedar Point. Unfortunately all I remember from this trip is throwing up twice. Also, my family didn't have a lot of money growing up, so when we could manage trips to Geauga Lake it was pretty much the most awesome thing on the planet. I rode my first coaster at an end-of-the year field trip in 5th grade; my mom was chaperoning and I remember dragging her on Corkscrew twice. (Actually, I rode the 2nd time while she waited at the exit...lol). I don't know why I rode it... I just felt like I really wanted to. I guess I was born to love coasters. After that the rest was history... I worked my way up to riding everything I could, and still do now.
  6. Awesome pictures, it's really cool how you managed to zoom in that much. I can't wait to see these rides in person
  7. 1. What do you find most useful about the front page? The links across the top of the page 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? Really old updates 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? Nope, it's laid out pretty well 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? Maybe about 1/3 of the way 5. How often do you look at the front page? If something catches my eye that I'm interested in 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? I think I did once when I was bored...sorry. 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? Nothing 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? Nah, I'm good.
  8. What the... I laughed when I read this. I usually just laugh at other people's photos, and I'd have to say I'd never consider buying someone else's just because they were hot. Besides, I can't see how it would ever come out good anyways. Those cameras, I swear, are strategically placed on the ride for the exact moment that you look like a TOTAL retard. LOL. My final 2 cents: A little creepy, but amusing.
  9. I'll also add the TV movie "KISS meets the Phantom of the Park", the movie "3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain" (I think that was the name), and the opening credits of the show "Step by Step" to this list.
  10. If I didn't have a season pass, I wouldn't spend the $60 (or whatever admission is this year) for just an hour in the park. Maybe too many idiots bought tickets before they realized the park closed only an hour later, then complained about it? But I agree with Robb, they should at least let the passholders in. An hour is definitely enough time to hit up a few rides, but I don't think it's worth paying a full day's admission. (I hope that makes sense.)
  11. ^^I was just going to say that... I don't think you're going to get away from spieling at CP, LOL. On the other hand, in my case, if there's one thing I've always wanted to do, it's spiel... 42 more days
  12. Yeah, but you still have to have the right frame of mind. I worked at a food stand in USH for a few months and loved it, just because I knew I was working in a theme park. The only reason I left was transportation issues at the time. I'm not saying you guys don't enjoy what you're doing, I'm just saying you probably won't get transferred to the ride you want if you're standing there all day like "Oh, man, I hate working this ride, I wish I was on a coaster". And as for CP, in my interview I said I loved coasters and I wanted an "adult" ride... I got put on the train. They'll place you guys wherever there's space needed; getting the ride you want is pretty much luck if you haven't worked at the park before.
  13. That's a good question... I wouldn't mind knowing the answer either. I know that the company that made it is out of business and it's not up to code, but did something break, or what?
  14. There's your problem. I had a Gateway once and had nothing but problems with it. Just get a new computer and save yourself the hassle
  15. Can I hurl now? Please? I could go on for pages, but let's just say, IMHO, this is the stupidest idea I've ever heard of and I really don't care for it. I thought the "opening ceremony" thing was bad enough... What are they going to think of next? Wow.
  16. I just have two in each earlobe. I always wanted a third one up in the cartilage, but most jobs now (or at least places I've applied in the past few years) limit piercings to what I have now, so why bother spending the money if it's going to be out half the time? I don't think I'd ever do anything more extreme than that.
  17. I don't really remember having an actual sled when I was a kid, so my worst sledding experiences would probably involve trying to use stuff as sleds that didn't work: -garbage can lids (even if they didn't have handles, they always got stuck) -boxes (got wet too fast) - And I remember one particular winter... our driveway had a slight slope to it, and there was leftover vinyl siding in the garage... so we tried to snowboard. It actually kind of worked!
  18. I remember posting a Photo TR from this carnival I went to last year and not knowing the name of the Octopus... cool. And the Rock-O-Plane of Doom... thanks for reminding me of that. Oh, and now I remember puking on Monster at CP when I was four. It was one of the few things I remember about that trip, and I couldn't remember whether it was at Conneaut Lake or CP... the color of the cars triggered my memory for some reason. Lovely.
  19. It's technically a "4D" coaster, but now with the tunnels and stuff it's being called "5D" (if I remember right from the press release). This is a stupid request, but can someone hug one of the Tatsu supports up on Samurai Summit tomorrow for me? I miss my favorite coaster
  20. I'm sorry that this is almost horrendously off topic, but does anyone have a quick link to the "Viper Line" video from a while back? I'd appreciate it, thanks
  21. Yep (disclaimer that should have been posted before: I meant virtual cookies. ROFL. )
