Spider-Man 3 in IMAX. It was better than I was thinking it would be, although the ending sucked - highlight this for spoilers (too much sappiness and forgiving and such... I mean, come on, out of all the villains he faced, only ONE was toasted?) - Also, I was reminded of how freaking hot Kirsten Dunst looks with red hair. Yow.

It's only morning, but so far only the little box that popped up on here and my husband have bothered to remember that IT'S MY FREAKING BIRTHDAY. I mean, I didn't even get a card from my parents. This has happened for like three fudging years in a row now. Rrr.

Ok, fine... some of those people can, um, flip and stuff. But I seem to remember when I was in high school, every cheerleader performance at a pep rally or whatnot that I remember resulted in a way-too-suggestive "dance" to hip-hop music. I'm sorry, but I don't consider the competition of who can do that better a "sport", no matter what grades they got (and yes, I knew some with good grades too).

Two words can only describe my response: "Hell" and "No". -Amanda "I really dislike cheerleaders; they're pretty much bimbos" V.

Wendy’s manager shot over limit on chili sauce
lapseofreason replied to BarryH's topic in Random, Random, Random
Yeah, but rich(er) people shop at Old Navy, and they can be pretty freaking stupid too. The manager should have just given the guy the freaking chili sauce! I mean, how many packets a day probably get stepped on, broken, etc.? Did the customer want a case of it or something? Did they have the sauce locked up in a freaking safe? Do they count the packets daily to ensure that the correct number has been dispensed? Sheesh!!! Customers can be stupid, but some managers are SO afraid of getting reprimanded for breaking policy ONCE that... well... this is a great example. What a bizarre incident. -
Who's Your favorite American Idol
lapseofreason replied to thrill_god's topic in Random, Random, Random
I don't like any of them. American Idol is just a bunch of stupid morons that think they can sing and love to show off, just like every other pop-music-loving kid in America...except these ones got to be on TV because they can badly cover pop songs better than most. Ugh. -
Homer's Compy in a sticky situation.

My old computer did that, shutting itself off randomly, pretty much always when my husband or I were in the middle of something important. Anyways, right around that time we also got hacked with adware, spyware, a virus that killed our ENTIRE system, etc. We were able to reinstall Windows and get it running... it worked for about a week, then it started shutting off again, then the hacker found us again.... In the end we just had to get a new machine. When it was randomly shutting down, we ran multiple virus scans and nothing came up, which might have led to us thinking it was the fan/power supply thing. I know I didn't really give any advice but I wanted to share my story; it sounded like the same thing that happened to me. I hope you don't have to get a new machine. -
Phrases or Things that make you Cringe!
lapseofreason replied to CoastersNSich's topic in Random, Random, Random
I work with food, and the phrase "I want" pisses me off the most, especially when people are ordering. How freaking rude, especially when they have their kids with them and the kids are little snotty rude jerks too. Get some freaking manners. ...As you can see, I had a bad day at work today. -

Ohio Parks

If you manage to get Geauga Lake in, either month would be fine. Just call ahead and check the website to make sure there's no special events (ie Cleveland Clinic day, which jams the park to no end.) Have fun! -

Maverick's Kooky Warning Sign
lapseofreason replied to HogarthOK's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've ridden SFMM's Viper a few times in the last few years, and they still have a few signs up with the no-earring rule (as you might have noticed). After a few times with studs (no dangly stuff... wow, that came out wrong), I don't see why they still have that sign up. Someone must have lost a gigantic silver hoop in the 80's or something. Can someone recall the reason why, as Robb called them, the Arrow multi-loopers, (AFAIK, SFMM's Viper and Geauga Lake's Double Loop, among others) have these signs? Did, someone, like, lose an ear or something? Gag me with a spoon! -Amanda -
Ooh, nice update. I don't mind paying for Johnny Rockets, but... $5.50 for a milkshake and $11.99 for their biggest combo? Looks like I'll still be going to Wendy's for my lunch breaks... ...Maybe if they filled my souvenir cup with a chocolate shake for $.99 I'd consider eating a combo there. (The last time I ate meat at a Six Flags was a burger in the 1990's at Geauga Lake and I spit it back up in my rush to get on Raging Wolf Bobs.. ROFL) Oh. Wait. I'm sorry... AMERICAN FRIES?! Is this like the Freedom Fries thing? (sigh)

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
lapseofreason replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I heard they're going to paint Superman at SFMM glow in the dark/UV sensitive, with blacklights installed along the track. Oh, and Wes, your avatar rocks. (Actually, that's all I wanted to say.) -
Death of Small Waterparks
lapseofreason replied to RollerC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^That reminds me of when you're driving up I-15 towards Vegas, there is this water park seemingly in the middle of nowhere (I think between Victorville and Barstow) that is NEVER open. I've passed it several times now in the past 5 years, and it always seems to be in a worse state than before... even though it looks like a cool place to stop and get wet. Shame... they must have been closed due to the "rude staff" thing, or it was more in the middle of nowhere than I thought. -amanda -
Nooo! I was JUST about to do an update from yesterday, but Jahan beat me to it! At least you got a few pictures of things I forgot to: Coldstone, the trams, the mister thingie, etc. Oh well... your pics are better than mine anyways. Thanks for the update! PS: The Wii Hut rocks. Now I REALLY want one.

^Yeah, didn't someone say Psyclone's land belonged to Newhall Farm & Land? Anyways, I think it's been said before in several incarnations: 1) Shapiro apparently said NO NEW COASTERS (if I remember right from another post) for a long time. That rules out Intamin and GCI woodies, Aquatrax (lol), spinning coasters, etc. The only things I see going in Psyclone's spot, assuming Newhall continues to lease SFMM the land, is either Flashback (if they decide to relocate it) or some unannounced as of yet project. 2) As said in the recent SF conference call thread, no Wiggles World or Thomas World either. I really think another kids world, unless Bugs Bunny World was toasted, would be weird, so this is a good move IMHO. Oh, and how is the land cursed? I don't know what was back there a LONG time ago, but Shockwave was part of the stupid "ride rotation" program, so it died for a reason. I hope they start work on Metro soon because if they're pushing for the end of the year, it's already May, and I haven't seen a lick of work at ANY of the stations. It will be nice to have another mode of transportation around the park though. But one more thing... someone else mentioned Metro's equipment being obsolete, and the company that built it is out of business... so how are they going to refurb it? Rip out all the existing wiring, etc. and make a whole new system to pull the trains? Sounds expensive as heck... Just a thought. I might go tomorrow so I'll let you guys know if I see anything weird. -amanda

So I decided to retry my "ask for a weekday off work and hit up SFMM" theory. It worked quite well. Aside from X being down all day due to the wind, and something being busted on Scream all day, by the time we left at 2:45 the first parking lot wasn't even three quarters full. (EDIT: OK, so I apparently didn't see anyone I mentioned before. How embarrassing.) Anyways, on to my second uploading of pics after Internet Explorer decided it was hungry and ate them. Enjoy. After Jet Stream and an empty Batman we rode Log Jammer again then left. Thanks for reading! Obligatory toasted Psyclone shot. Enough said. By the way, why did SFMM put new benches in the smoking areas and nowhere else?! (scratches head) Finally, Kentucky Rumbler Guy and Old Dude headed off to X with the promise of letting Business Casual Black Guy and ACE Polo Guy know if it was open. Ugh. If I heard the term "g-force" or "X is stuck on the lift hill" used in a "I know more than you about coasters" term ONE MORE TIME, I was gonna hurl But my ride was ruined by... ACERs! NOOOO! Look, the TVs were working today (at least some of them) We took Orient Express up to Ninja... I wonder what this lever does. Mike? Anyone? On the way back in some kid took our picture, it turned out okay After that, snack time.... chicken fingers, soda, cheese dip, Doritos, and avocado= better than eating in the park. Yum. Empty queue= our own personal ride on Revy. It rocked. Apparently back in the day there were signs that said what kind of tree it was. So here is an olive tree by Revolution. Trippy. But still... Classic SFMM(wooden cupola roof) + Extreme Makeover: Superhero Plantation Edition= WEIRD! Another shot, apparently I missed all the painting fun Oh boy, it's Superhero Plantation (and yes, those lights are on for no apparent reason) This guy was really pissed, it was funny And these people, though you can't see it that well These people got nailed After that, it was our ritual of finding people that got the most soaked on the final drop (or cheerleaders) and blasting them with water cannons... best waste of money in the park OMGWTFBBQ... THEMEING!!! ONE LOUSY BARREL OF THEMEING FUN! BOW DOWN TO ITS ATMOSPHERIC GLORY IF YOU CAN WHILE ZOOMING BY IT!!! What would one of my Photo TR's be without a Log Jammer POV shot? Uh... Goliath was only running one train. I had never seen one of these signs before at SFMM... so here is one. OMFG, is that man PASSED OUT ON THE TABLE?! Haha, nothing more to see here! On to my pathetic excuse for a Johnny Rockets update. Monday + No Spring Break= Empty queues all day. Woohoo! This duck was pissed because we got soda refills and not food.. soon after, he and his friends got into a honking frenzy over this fact Tatsu's McPretzelLoop through the trees.. just because I had to. Our first ride of the day, as always. 10:45 am and the lights are on... Noooo, I don't know why this park has budget issues... A busted Colossus greets me as we enter.. and oh, by the way, welcome to my Photo TR
