  1. I don't think I would say I'm embarrassed at all about being a theme park enthusiast... My family doesn't really mind it one way or another. My partner finds it funny and "cute" as he puts it, and occasional will tease me about it, but he secretly loves roller coasters more then me As for anyone else... well most of my friends are all enthusiasts as well... and when it comes to strangers, why should I go through life caring what they think of me? lol
  2. Yeah, Jungle Cruise is not a dark ride, although that doesn't make it a bad ride! haha
  3. ExtraTERRORestrial Encounter was very clever, and very scary my first time... well, even my 6th time really unnerved me. The Stitch replacement, like Nibbler said, was disney's way of making it more family friendly... only I don't think it exactly worked. Is it scary... well for me, I would say no. But for the many kids I've heard screaming and crying the last few times I've visited, I would say overall yeah, it maybe a little to scary for some kids. (I will say that not all children are alike and I have seen many really love it). Its not thrilling enough to be considered a adult or even teenage experience... but it may be a little to intense for some to be considered a family friendly. I think it would have served the place better to maybe just do an updated ExtraTERRORestrial Encounter... Stitch's Great Escape doesn't do it for me... and thats coming from a HUGE Stitch fan! lol
  4. Finally making my first trip to SF Magic Mountain next Saturday. I know crowd wise it probably isn't the best time to go... but its my only opening for the next 2 months, so I'm going for it!
  5. ^ Well it seems the pier has got a new lease on life. Lets all hope that now being owned and run by a group that really seems to treasure, the pier will see some big things in store in the future.
  6. Mine is me kissing Patty at Universal Orlando... or is that Selma??? oh well, its one of them lol.
  7. Not to surprising to see "House of 1000 Corpse" returning this year. It was already "unofficially" confirmed to return last month. Someone taking some video of the haunt construction caught floor outlines that described an area as having "Dr. Satan."
  8. ^ Well, if the article is correct, it possibly wouldn't take that much money at all. It says that there is still staff that works at the park, maintaining the rides and running them occasionally to make sure they stay in good condition. I for one would welcome seeing the park come back. Granted, I never made it during the Freestyle Music Park days, I did visit the park when it was still Hard Rock Park. It really does have a lot of potential, if it had only lasted long enough to work through its growing pains. What it really lacked in my opinion is a stand out theme to attract a more diverse crowd. While Led Zeppelin/The Time Machine was a fun coaster, there was little else in terms of thrill rides to attract hard core thrill seekers. On the flip side, themeing the park as Hard Rock Park was probably a bit of a deterrent for family's. Hard Rock Cafe isn't overly know as being the go to place for family time. I think if they can bring in one or two more big attractions, and do some overhaul in terms of themeing on certain areas of the park, it could become a hit.
  9. Biased indeed. The park is years from being complete. Opening a new park is always a risky move. Just look at Hard Rock Park/Freestyle Music Park. It looked like a win/win idea. Build a park with the world known Hard Rock brand in a large tourist area... and it failed. Its not easy to predict these things. And if it does indeed take off and become a huge success, then good for it. But what does it have to do with Port Aventura? Sure, there attendance may take a slight hit in the first year the Paramount park is open, but calling it the end of Port Aventura is extremely presumptive. Where does it say that only one theme park can thrive in any given area? Its almost 5 hours driving distance, over 320 miles, between the parks alone... there are many large thriving parks all around the world with closer proximity to each other then that.
  10. It's great to see how much Coney Island has been cleaned up and refurbished. The new rides add a lot to the place... And boy oh boy do I wanta ride Spook-a-Rama!
  11. Gluten is a protein found in foods made from wheat, rye and a few others. people choose to eat gluten-free products for different reasons, though a big one is allergies.
  12. So my partner found it funny to play these songs, "All Together" and "Don't Stop" by Patrick & Eugene, over and over again simply to annoy me. But after listening to them for the umpteenth time, I thought they might be a rather fun songs to add to one of the TPR video's. They are quirky... yeah, thats the best way to describe them lol. You should give them a listen! Edit: You want something even more bizarre, check out their song "Llama"... I still am trying to wrap my head around what I just listened too
  13. Another quick tidbit. While the link above doesn't give an open date, this artcile: www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/whats-in-store-at-russias-new-megapark-2327352.html , claims the parks grand opening will be sometime in 2016.
  14. Something I came across, and looked around and noticed no one has posted about it yet, so here you go. Russia is set to build it first "Destination resort theme park." According to the article I found, which you can read here eon.businesswire.com/news/eon/20110721006696/en/Magic-World-Russia/Gene-Moshkovich/MIG-2000 , the park will cover 600 acres and include the following: *Major Hollywood Studio Branded Park – where guests participate in the action, “entering” their favorite films through a diverse collection of extraordinary ride experiences. MIG 2000 is currently in thorough discussions with a number of major Hollywood studios, with Paramount and Universal priority choices of MIG 2000 due to the popularity of their film and television properties in Russia as well as their experience with theme park development and operation. *Magic Family Park - dedicated to families with young children. *Nanopolis Children’s Park - will offer children a real “edutainment” experience that will combine the fun of participating in grown up “jobs” with the fun of learning what it’s like to be a real fireman or doctor or chef. *Separate Waterparks for families and adults with enclosed beach resorts. *Park Russia - will draw on the rich Russian culture and folklore as well as Russian accomplishments in the areas of space and Arctic exploration, film and cinematography, and science and aviation to develop rides, attractions and live events to entertain guests of all ages. *Thrill Ride Park – will feature pure adrenaline driven coasters and rides that defy gravity and offer unbelievable thrills. *Extreme Sports Park – will combine extreme sports attractions such as skate park, rock wall climbing, indoor sky diving, and other extreme sports under one roof. *Winter Garden Magic Fountain Park – will feature a spectacular symphony of fountains which will defy imagination, exceeding anything that currently exists and serve as a stage for nightly entertainment and amazing parades. *St. Petersburg City Street – a retail shopping and dining experience that will recreate a classic St. Petersburg with its magnificent architecture and provide opportunities for local as well as global brands. *Amphitheater/Concert/Performance Hall - designed to be a 15,000 seat live performance theater. *World Without Boundaries Special Needs Children’s Park. No other park in the world has been designed to serve special needs children such as the World Without Boundaries Park at Magic World Russia. Drawing on the leading special needs children medical and therapeutic experts in the world, the rides and attractions will be designed specifically to entertain a diverse number of physical and mental handicaps offering special needs children no matter their handicap, a memorable and fun experience. Sounds very interesting. I must say I'm most impressed with the World Without Boundaries park. Definitely something I would love to see, given my line of work. What are everyones thoughts?
  15. I'm SEVERALLY regretting not breaking down and trying to grab one of the last minute tickets that became available... alas, there will be more trip. Looks like a blast!
  16. Ohhhh and how could I forget my big birthday last year! Got to meet the MILF herself, Jennifer Coolidge. She even bought me a birthday drink! "... It makes me want a hotdog reeeeaaaalllll bad!"
  17. Found a few good ones I like from my trip to Knoxville and Dollywood this past November Chillin in Knoxville for a day to meet up with some friends before heading to Dollywood. Single handedly the gayest picture I've ever had taken! ... I think I spoke to soon
  18. Having lived there for a few years while in High School, I can say West Virginia could really use a theme park. They do have Camden Park, I small park in Huntington that is currently the states only amusement park. Of course, they are suppose to be building Wild Escape near Wheeling, but I haven't really heard much about it recently.
  19. Oh Fiesta Texas how I miss thee... I have so many great memories of this park. Superman Krypton Coaster was the first coaster I ever rode. Thankfully I'll be visiting family in San Antonio next summer. I plan on taking my little sis. She is starting to get the coaster itch
  20. After doing a little thinking, and I know this is a stretch, could the Eli Roth maze be based on The Last Exorcism? While he didn't direct the movie, he did produce it, and its a much more recent film then Hostel. I know its probably going to be Hostel, but in the off chance that it isn't, its the only other movie I could find that would match the clues. The code name for the maze is 3DN. Three Dog Night has a song Eli's Coming, and that coupled with the fact that Eli's involved with the short film contest makes it a certainty that we will see an Eli Roth maze. The hint given was Break Necks. When a lot of people think of exorcism movies, its hard not the think of Linda Blair and her 360 degree head spin in The Exorcist... Or maybe I'm reading way to much into it and really hoping its not Hostel
  21. I would love to see Scream at HHN and I think it would be one of the more high profile mazes of the year with Scream 4 hitting theaters earlier this year. Unfortunately, it seems to me like Universal is wanting to put a big spotlight on The Thing, which kind of diminishes my hopes for a Scream maze. And I've had pretty much no luck really connecting any of the code names or hints to Scream. Have you had any luck with that? With that all being said, maybe we could see Ghostface making an appearance as the Terror Tram host?
  22. Well, most signs seem to be pointing to the rumored Hostel maze being the one announced tomorrow. I'm sorta hoping thats not it. Hostel is hardly a classic, nor has the long term popularity that would suggest making a maze out of it 6 years after its release, 4 if you consider the remake that few seem to remember. Then again, they did have a HOTC maze last year (rumored to be making a reappearance this year), so I guess it shouldn't come as a shock.
  23. Nutcracker The Ride? That just screams Spain to me Beautiful park... and one I had never heard of before. I'm thinking more and more a trip to Japan is in order
  24. Well, according to HHN Hollywood's twitter, the announcement of the next maze has been postponed until tomorrow
  25. hmmm. I see an inverted coaster... the train at the top of a loop.
