How do you watch your movies?
805Andrew replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Lately I've been watching movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix. If there is a way to put older Rollercoasters in the RAW films on Netflix where you could get some of the revenue that would be great, but I don't know how that works or if Netflix works with small independents. I haven't bought a Blu Ray or DVD in over a year, as I rent or watch most movies online or on TV. Red Box is constantly sending me free DVD rental promo codes which I'll sometimes use for the Blu Ray version and pay the $0.32 difference. I don't buy movies online, though I use Amazon and iTunes for music. I do watch TV shows online on Netflix, Hulu, or whatever network's website. I also use my DVR and my On Demand feature to watch shows and movies on TV, although only what's included in my cable package - no pay per view, etc. -
The Official TPR Video Thread!

It looks pretty shaky and rough, although with a decent layout. I can only imagine how rough this ride would be if it survived the storm and was running today. -
I've only been to the CF and SF parks on the West Coast, but I have to give the edge to Cedar Fair. Six Flags wins on rides (coasters specifically) because of Magic Mountain, but Cedar Fair wins on everything else: service, efficiency, cleanness, etc. And when you count all the CF and SF parks, Cedar Fair would probably win because of Cedar Point (but not only because of Cedar Point) being the best of all of these CF/SF parks.

Hawaii is a great place to visit but Oahu is my least favorite of the four Hawaiian islands I've been too. I still liked Oahu, but not as much as the other islands. Of all the people that I've talked to that been to HI the only ones that weren't crazy about it were the ones that only went to Oahu and spent most of their time in Honolulu. I can see why they built this on Oahu; most population, most infrastructure, and most flights. But I feel this resort would have also been successful on Maui. Maui and Kauai have nicer beaches and Kauai has a lot of nice things to see even if you don't like the beach and amazing helicopter tours. The Big Island has an active volcano where you can get really close to active lava flow which was a really cool experience.

I think in California Knott's and/or CGA would be good candidates for building a Mega Lite. Both these parks have the budget to afford one of these, the capacity wouldn't be too much of a issue for CGA, and for Knott's it probably wouldn't have worse capacity than Pony Express or Coast Rider. A Mega Lite would probably be a capacity nightmare for SFMM, but then again that didn't stop them from building Green Lantern.

This sounds like a great addition for HKD. Hopefully The Iron Man Experience is just a working title and they will come up with a better name. This got me thinking, they could change the Innoventions at California's Disneyland to a Stark Expo. Even if they can't fit a full ride, a Stark Expo would be better than the current Innoventions.

Knoebels Discussion Thread
805Andrew replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ That's not bad at all for a ride that has been highly anticipated for several years with low capacity. I can only imagine how long the line would be if this had just opened up at SFMM. I think it opening in October instead of during Summer also helped significantly. -

^No Panda Express in China? This is what we call Chinese American food. The Orange Chicken is a Panda Express classic. -

I'm glad Flying Turns has finally opened. I guess Flying Turns isn't a Urban Legend after all. And they opened before Undertow. -

Favorite Summers/Dinn Coaster Poll
805Andrew replied to djw44's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is there a such thing as a favorite Dinn coaster? I voted for Psyclone for the F of it because it's the only Dinn I've been on. -
Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
805Andrew replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, Epcot Food and Wine looks great! This kind of reminds me of a food truck festival I went to in SF were they were over 30 food trucks including many different nationalities which I loved. I would hit up all the different types of Asian country booths and I would probably hit up all the other country booths (except the Cheese one) before trying the Haggis. Was there a Spain booth by the way? -
I have a friend who's been here and he said it was great. That's cool that the Spongebob coaster is a Eurofighter and not some wimpy kiddie or family coaster. Sorry to hear you couldn't find good tacos in Minnesota (or least the Mall of America). I heard in some parts of the country good Mexican food is hard to come by. That's why I like to try what is good locally wherever I go. I also like to check Yelp to see which restaurants got good reviews, which usually steers me in the right direction although it isn't 100% perfect.

I have 12. Not that is anything to brag about. -
Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread
805Andrew replied to the_rock401's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This looks like a better version of what Knott's got. To be fair, they probably have more space than Knott's. I didn't know Valleyfair had an Impulse coaster btw, it will look cool in the background of the new family area. And I agree that a Disko is not a coaster, unless your counting it as a powered coaster. None the less, it is a fun ride whether its a coaster or not. -
2014 TPR Tour Questionnaire is out!
805Andrew replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I want to do the Mini Hotness tour, and if I could add one more it would be Texas. Hopefully nothing tragic happens next year and both RMCs will be up and running. I wonder if Schlitterbahn will be included on the Texas trip (if it happens) or be offered as a add-on? The only park that interests me on the NW trip is Silverwood so I'm out on that trip, although going to Vancouver again would be cool. And I live in CA so if I'm going to spend big bucks on a trip, it's going to be far away from here, so I am out of the West Coast trip. Although the West Coast trip would be great for those that don't live here or haven't been here before, so I understand the demand for that trip. Either way, I am most likely at least doing the Mini Hotness tour. -
^I won't listen to music on my snowboard because I want to hear if there is someone behind me and make sure they don't crash into me or I don't cut in front of them making them crash into me. Back on topic, I like the commentary on the POVs. I usually get a good laugh out of them. Sometimes the silent POVs can be boring. I mean, does anybody ever ride a rollercoaster and only hear the natural sounds and no one screaming in the background? The people talking/screaming on the ride seems more natural to me.
