  1. A guitar player that is one of the reasons I started playing, and that I have had a "guitar crush" on for 15 years, facebook chatted me earlier.
  2. Just found a Starr Hill "The Gift" WinterBock left over from last winter... so I figured it had probably gone bad but I needed to get rid of it anyway. So I opened it up, poured it, took a sip, and YUM! It was still good.
  3. Oh, you know who I am. I was on the 2006 UK trip. I was "with" somebody else on the trip.
  4. Hi. I'm Nicole. I was here and then I was gone. And now I'm back. Some of you may remember me from the very first TPR trip, the 2006 UK trip. But you probably don't. And that's ok. But HERE I AM!
  5. Favorite steel coasters that I have ridden in the past year: 1. Intimidator 305 2. Intimidator 3. Apollo's Chariot 4. Nitro 5. MONTU! 6. Mystery Mine 7. Cheetah Hunt 8. Fahrenheit (really grew on me this year!) 9. Griffon 10. Top Gun (carowinds. I refuse to call it by its new name) Favorite wood coasters that I have ridden in the past year: 1. El Toro 2. Phoenix 3. Ravine Flyer II 4. Thunderhead word
  6. Hi there! Who remembers ME??
  7. I don't really "get" Leviathan... just looks like Behemoth on steroids. I guess I need to ride it when it opens.
  8. I'm very excited for KD's halloween stuff. I went there last year (for the first time) and thought the haunted houses were WAY better (scarier) than Busch Gardens. My favorite was the slaughter house one. I can't believe they are still doing Elvira's Superstition... that thing is so old and not fun.
  9. Hershey is a 3 hour drive from NYC, while Dorney is about an hour and 45 minutes. Based on coasters I'd rather go to Hershey. Dorney's B&Ms aren't that great, especially Hydra which is pretty rough. But based on distance I'd rather go to Dorney. Have you considered going to Six Flags Great Adventure? It's closer to the city than both the parks you mentioned, and has a lot more coasters. Depending on when you go though, it may be more crowded.
  10. Bring back the turtles!!!
  11. I saw Mick Foley at Knoebel's PPP last year.
  12. Wow.... $40?!?! Seems they've learned nothing from the previous owners' mistakes. Looks like I'll have to get there again this year, because 2010 is not looking good.
  13. I don't think the name is that horrible. Freestyle Parks I suppose is the name of the chain they are trying to create. So really, the name of the park is "Music Park". Just think, there are water parks out there called "Water World"... is it really that bad?
  14. Nice pics. I hated the new area though. Like how the scenery looks like big cardboard cutouts on ugly concrete footers, and the paths are very narrow. Like can't fit two strollers next to each other narrow. Also, why doesn't the queue for the coaster have handrails? When we were there, kids were wandering all over the landscaping, and I even saw kids pulling the buds off flowers and using them like chalk to draw on the planters. Great thinking, Busch Gardens. Oh well, I guess the cheap approach goes with the whole cheap approach Busch Gardens has going on for it. Another thing I've noticed is that they totally changed the food - Das Alpine at the Festhaus uses different bread and is only about 1/2 the size it was last year, and at the ice cream place in France, they no longer make the waffle cones, they use pre-packaged ones. One of the best things about Busch Gardens was that they never cut corners, but I guess that's going down the drain now!
  15. It's 79 degrees here in Fredericksburg VA.
  16. The snow is my fault. Hours after being told "It never snows in Virginia", lo and behold it started snowing and we got somewhere around 6-8 inches around here. The local schools were all cancelled Monday and Tuesday, and on a 2-hour delay today.
  17. I think Charlie told Hurley where to be. Not sure how he got out of jail though. I also think Kate killed Aaron!
  18. Purplepills - YES!!!! TIMMAHHHH the ride!! I would totally ride that all day and just keep yelling "TIMMAHHHH!!!"
  19. Ugh... people are so stupid. This society is so sue-happy. Maybe I should sue the tree that fell across the road for pain and suffering due to making it take longer for me to get home. Or sue the firemen for not getting it out of the way fast enough.
  20. Wow... couldn't you have waited until you had more than a drop, a loop, and 2 pictures before you made this thread?
  21. Knoebels is less than an hour from both Hershey and Dorney, and has one of the best wooden coasters on the planet, Phoenix. It would be a real shame if you were to miss Phoenix, especially since you're doing Dorney which doesn't have any outstanding coasters. You should really think about going to Knoebels... Oh, and Niagara Falls is 2 words.
  22. Nice pics! Dominator wasn't open yet when I went to King's Dominion last year, but I rode it at Geauga Lake and did not like it. I will give it a courtesy ride this year though (before heading back for my PKD favorites, Volcano and FOF), even though I can't count it as a new credit.
  23. Yes, the ride will be the same... terrible! I waited far too long to ride this thing last summer. It was very rough and not much fun. I far preferred the one at SFA.
  24. I have never played paint ball but it sounds like a lot of fun and I would love to play it some day! For some reason, it reminds me of Capture the Flag, which I used to be obsessed with when I was younger.
