Europa Park Discussion Thread

Twisted Horseshoe Roll sounds like really tasty sushi. Blue Fire looks amazing and I can't wait to get to Europa to ride it!! -
Knoebels Discussion Thread

^I guess that's pretty much what I meant. I was giving background information for those who had never heard of Centralia. I think it would be cool if they could layer the ride - like the very top would be the abandoned town with steam coming out of random places, the middle indoors part could be the coal mine, and the bottom part inside the ride could be "on fire". -

I want them to put it over by Twister somewhere, because it's kind of a dead area and might draw more people over to ride Twister. I think a really cool theme for it would be Centralia. It's a real-life town only about half an hour away from Knoebel's. A ghost town over a coal mine that has been on fire for 40 years? How cool would that theme be! -
If by that you mean "probably have a song or two that gets radio airplay, gets played at every high school dance for six months, tries to recover her career with a new album, fails, then fades to black forever", then yeah, you're probably right. I have a lot of respect for Lady Gaga. She actually WRITES, and according to her bio online, she learned piano by ear around the age of 4, and at the age of 17 was one of only 20 students admitted early to the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. In addition to her own stuff, she has written songs for the Pussycat Dolls and Britney Spears. I think she's very talented (WAY more so than some of the disasters out there in popular music) and I hope she has a long, successful career ahead of her.

Why don't you call the park and ask all your questions? You'd get the answers a lot quicker than waiting for people to respond in this thread. Just write down all your questions, then call and ask.

Six Flags Season Pass Survey
niiicolaaah replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just took the survey, and am a little disappointed in it. When I answered that I had a season pass in 2008, but I definitely won't purchase one in 2009, it should have given me a text box and asked why I won't purchase one. Looks like they're not interested in true feedback, just testing out this idea for a (IMHO not very appealing) rewards program. Boo Six Flags! -

Huh? Pennsylvania screwed over Flying Turns? Or the state of Knoebel's? What?! -

That's exactly my reaction! I think that they will probably wait until they have Flying Turns figured out before they do anything with Golden Nugget. I hope that when they DO bring Golden Nugget back to life, they make it into a really cool dark ride. I was sad to see the ride rotting away earlier this year, I'm glad it will find a new life at one of the best parks in the US! -
LOL I can't wait to ride Dinosaur again and see if it really is as terrible as I remember it! Or I'll just close my eyes and pretend I'm on Indiana Jones!!

We did 3 parks in about 5 hours in March a couple of years ago (I would NEVER bastardize Magic Kingdom) and it was doable, although we were pretty much running around and it wasn't very fun. I imagine if you do it right, 4 parks in 1 day is possible. If it were me, I would just pick 2 or 3 parks, because 2 hours at most of these parks really isn't enough time. The "don't miss" rides at the parks are: Animal Kingdom - Expedition Everest Disney Studios - Tower of Terror, Rock & Roller Coaster Epcot - Mission: Space, Test Track, Soarin' (I think Soarin is extremely boring) Magic Kingdom - Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad As for your "2 parks in 2 days" comment, I would choose to do 3 parks one of the days, and Magic Kingdom in its own separate day. I would spend the first part of the first day to go to Animal Kingdom and ride Everest, and Studios and ride Tower of Terror and Rock & Roller Coaster. Then you could spend the 2nd half of the day at Epcot, and get to experience more that it has to offer. I really think you should take your time at the parks and not visit them all, and come back some other time! Like I said, we did the "rush around the parks" thing and it was so much less enjoyable than when we took our time!

The episode left me confused, and not sure if I liked it or not!

"Koi no Mega Lover" - Maximum the Hormone (such a weird band, going from a pop sound to like screaming metal and back again in the same song, I love them!)

Astroland is Dead
niiicolaaah replied to Cygnus12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This "Astroland is Dead" thread might soon turn to "All of Coney Island is Dead"... According to the New York Post, the new Coney Island development plans may include sacrificing the Nathan's Hot Dog location. http://www.nypost.com/seven/01202009/news/regionalnews/coney_is__plan_bites_nathans_151018.htm I will be totally disgusted if this really happens, why are they trying to destroy all of the history and nostalgia of Coney Island?? They say the plan protects the unique character of Coney Island, but it seems to me that everything that made it unique has already been lost or is on the way out. I am really glad I got to go this past summer, it will obviously never be the same. I could tell it was on its way down, but I guess I didn't realize just how far it would go! -
Wow, talk about old news... I can't believe this topic hasn't been posted before! When we went to the "goodbye Laser" event, all of the Voodoo merchandise was like 75% off. Also, at the park's Halloween event, there was a Voodoo grave marker amongst the others (Hercules, now Laser, etc). Voodoo's gift shop was called "Possessions", so I guess the new name for the ride works. They had to change the name because Six Flags owned the copyright for the name Voodoo. I just hope they don't change the logo or the sign outside the ride!!

Swashbuckler's Cove Here are some pictures of the first themed area I made in the park. And here is the station that took me forever to build. That's it for this year!! Comments and criticism on everything are more than welcome!! I already featured Cannonball in a previous update, so here is a POV shot. Part of the golf course is in a tower on the lake. Those poor children... LOL And now for some shots of Treasure Falls Mini Golf. And my first custom support/stairs work. I think it came out OK. Here is an overview of the sprawling layout of the ride. After that scene, we enter the coaster portion of the ride. Should I be concerned??? Headed towards the main ride building. Entering the dark ride portion of Davy Jones. Here is Bounty, which was the 2nd ride ever built in the park. This area is basically a circular town around a lake, which has been taken over by pirates. Entrance to the area.
