  1. Very cool to see something being built from the ground up like this. I hope the place does well.
  2. I totally get that people have different opinions. Heck, my (non-enthusiast) boyfriend rode El Toro, Thunderhead, and Gwazi for the first time this year and liked Gwazi the best. He also likes Ghostrider better than El Toro. And we had night time ERT on El Toro at the ACE Riding of the Bull event. And he was not stapled into his seat. There are always going to be some people who have opinions that we think are weird or crazy, but that doesn't mean they're trying to intentionally throw the poll. I think that a few honest votes that are way off the norm are good to have in the poll because it reminds us that not everyone has the same likes or things they look for in a coaster. Plus, it's not going to impact the poll THAT much. I also think people that say TPR try to throw the poll are funny... cause if you don't vote, then you really don't have a say in the matter do you??
  3. ::drool drool drool:: I'd totally be in on that one. I haven't ridden that many wooden coasters but I'm glad to say I've been on 6 of the top 12!!
  4. The last coaster I rode was Space Mountain at Disneyland, around 11 pm Sunday.
  5. Those may just be the coolest trains I've ever seen. They remind me of Cylons...
  6. Wait, Matterhorn is closing AGAIN!? Dammit, it was closed when I went there this summer and I was hoping to ride it next weekend.
  7. The last coaster I rode was Alpengeist a week ago Saturday. The next I will ride is Matterhorn in a couple of weeks.
  8. WOW, the construction itself looks bigger than the current Fantasyland!
  9. You're kind of the anomaly when it comes to coaster enthusiasts because you're "little." Ha, ha, ha. Actually, I have thought about that before. There are just so many...men in coaster enthusiasm. I know I'm late to the party but - on the other hand, when big guys get stapled into steel coasters and complain they're not comfortable, we don't have that problem!! ::edit:: just finished my poll: El Toro SFGAd NJ,y,y,1 My Favorite Steel Anypark Anywhere **,y,n,2 (Nemesis) Ravine Flyer II Waldameer PA,y,n,3 Thunderhead Dollywood TN,y,y,4 Phoenix Knoebel's PA,y,n,5 ... 10. ^I also really can't remember it accurately. Maybe I'll have to go back and watch the video to refresh my memory. All I remember is floating out of my seat pretty much the whole time.
  11. Sadly, I'm going to have to leave my Europe coasters off my ballot this year, cause I just can't justify ranking something I rode one day 5 years ago, no matter how much I liked it. Sorry, Balder.
  12. ^Long distance is HARD... I'm glad things are going well for you. I have a boyfriend... we have been together for almost 2 years.
  13. Wow... I am SOOOOO looking forward to riding this thing next year.
  14. ^LOL You're ALMOST in the right place for mating behavior. Mine is one of the owls at Dollywood. I think they're adorable. And when I was there a group of people had their picture taken in front of it, and one dude was pretending he was the momma bird puking up food for the others who were the baby birds.
  15. I like Death Note and Elfen Lied. And it's all someone's fault on these boards.
  16. Mine is usually about 65, but the other day before I gave blood it was 62. Maybe I have the opposite of white coat syndrome.
  17. I think it would be hilarious if they used the track to begin with to be cheap, and then the track was giving out and that's why they had to rehab the front.
  18. So far this off season I have "coped" by swing dancing, and floating in a pod like an astronaut. (No, seriously.) Really the off season has only been going on for a month, and I'll be visiting BGW soon, so it won't really hit me until like February. And I have a billion other interests anyway.
  19. Sweet, maybe I'll actually go to USH now. The closest I've gotten to it was flying past in a helicopter.
  20. A third one does still exist, or at least did as of 2008. The people who run Shocktoberfest in Sinking Spring, PA had found one and set it up for their 2008 Halloween season. Still fully operational with plenty of working props. I only rode Devil's Den at Conneaut Lake once, but as soon as I got on this I recalled the very similar layout and the "riding in a shopping cart" feel. I don't know how many years they kept it or what became of it since, but I don't believe they used it this year. Loved that! It was a fun surprise. I felt a tiny bit unsafe on it though, didn't you?
