The Emerson, Lake, & Palmer version of the Peter Gunn theme song. (I grew up listening to this song, but forgot about it until this weekend when I remembered about it at Hard Rock Park for no apparent reason)
-
We just visited the park this past weekend, and did not encounter the "bad staff" you guys did. I only heard two employees with an accent and most were very friendly and helpful. I agree that the ticket prices are too high and there is not enough to do to get your money's worth. We were in the park for 2 hours and rode everything (Slippery When Wet and Maximum RPM were closed), but didn't want to leave because we didn't get our money's worth, so we rode the dark ride 3 times, Led Zeppelin 3 times (oh man is that pre-show painful after the first time you watch it), saw a couple shows, and played in the Punk Pit and the ball throwing room thingy. I liked the park simply for the dark ride (I have a weird love of dark rides and that song also, as well as the smell of incense so it just did it for me) and really hope they are able to stick it out...

Mmmm..... Robert Plant. Oh and you know "Nights in White Satin" is the best ride in the park. I say give HRP 6 or 7 years to grow and mature, and it will be a good park. At the moment there is not enough to do to fill up a whole day, especially with 2 of the 5 coasters down and the best coaster having a 5 minute pre-show. -
^Actually, Ms. is the title you use when you're not sure if someone is married or not. Miss = single Mrs. = married Ms. = in between! At least that's what we were taught.

I used to live about 2 hours from Toronto, and went to the CNE often. And honestly, I don't remember ever riding the midway rides except when I was a kid! Too bad the Schwarzkopf was not there when I was, or I wasn't tall enough to ride! The thing I love about the CNE is all the vendors. They have these buildings where you go inside and people are selling all kinds of stuff. It's like a huge flea market but cooler. Also, if I remember correctly, you can park at Ontario Place and get a ticket that lets you into Ontario Place as well as the CNE. Ontario Place has a few cool things like a huge maze (it's actually a few mazes put into one, and you carried around a card and had to swipe it in each maze to get points, but last time I was there the cards were gone), and a log flume that I love, and a small water park. Have fun!!! -

LOL I love the picture with the lion drinking fountain... so cute! That, and the elephant one by the river near the games section, are my favorite. Ah, the memories! -

Oh yeah well I can buy DelGrosso's sauce at my local supermarket. Nyah nyah! Great pictures, it's nice to see CW finally get some love! -
There was not nearly enough danger and fire in this report, but looks like you produced something edible. Good job!

I laughed when I saw the Predator boob-defense riding strategy, as I have employed that one myself on that ride! (And Minebuster at CW... and I'm sure there are others!) -

^Yeah, and my work is an hour away from Hershey. Seventeen miles per hour is the part that got me. -

Today someone at work said that Fahrenheit has the steepest drop in the USA, and goes 17 miles per hour, "which is fast for a coaster." (And yes, I'm sure he said seventeen and not seventy) -

Dude, bobsled coasters are the best because they are so freeform. And they let you slide and things. lol Just so you know, the coaster is called "Bobsleds", but it is NOT a bobsled coaster. The cars run on a tubular steel track. They are themed like bobsleds though. -
This thread is hilarious. I guess it's time for me to submit myself to the will of the Title Fairy.

Cedar Point admission rises

Wake up, guys, the price of EVERYTHING is rising. It always does. Nothing to freak out about. -
We just saw the movie yesterday. I liked it a lot. Heath Ledger was awesome. I didn't care for the ending though.

Favourite Vekoma!
niiicolaaah replied to Sasquatch's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My favorite Vekomas are Velocity (the booster bike at Flamingoland) and Expedition Everest. Not all Vekomas are bad. Just like not all Intamins and B&Ms are good. -
$1 for a can of soda from a vending machine at a park? More like $3.50 if you're lucky. I've never been to King's Island but I remember never getting a can of soda at CP last year because it was so ridiculously expensive. I assume the prices are the same at King's Island. Just putting it out there. Visit 1 more CF park and your pass is worth it.
