  1. Valleyfairzone is a fansite that posts a lot of satirical stuff about the park. It's not meant to be taken that seriously.
  2. B&M: Mantis by far, as someone who has also been on Riddler numerous times. Intamin: Green Lantern GCI: Gwazi
  3. ^What's unfortunate about that is that addressing it means putting that plastic stuff over every wood surface within reach, which is seen in the first half of the queue. I just wish people didn't feel the need to damage what was once a nice-looking queue and station.
  4. ^^ If you know how to work the thing, it can become possibly the most intense flat ride you'll ever experience. If you get the outside seat, and start the full rotations on time and hold the wings that way, the speed just keeps increasing until you let go, at which point you get thrown all over the place with no sense of direction. It's the closest I've ever come to vomiting on a ride.
  5. How about back-to-back "dueling" zippers? It needs to happen.
  6. I am a huge zipper fan! The only flat ride I've ridden that comes close to knocking the zipper out of first place is the Gerstlauer Sky-Fly. Even then, it doesn't steal the crown because there isn't as much variety in the forces as there is with the zipper
  7. I believe so, because nothing is supposed to restrict the rider from moving side to side. Bummer.
  8. Valleyfair: Really open-minded. Would love to see a big coaster, an update to the waterpark, or even a dark ride of some sort. As long as whatever it is brings something the would fill a hole in the park's lineup, I can't complain. Idk about 2015, but I still hope to see a flume again someday. Knott's Berry Farm: Dark ride or coaster, so long as whatever it is doesn't damage what's left of Ghost Town. Recent years show that management is being careful about retaining this now, which is encouraging. Six Flags Magic Mountain: Bring on Iron Colossus! Or clean restrooms. I'd take either.
  9. Valleyfair: Renegade's first drop, back seat Nickelodeon Universe: Log Chute's second drop Worlds of Fun: Ripcord Cedar Point: Top Thrill Dragster Six Flags Great America: American Eagle's first drop, back seat Mount Olympus: Cyclops's drop of death, back seat Silver Dollar City: Outlaw Run's first drop, back seat Six Flags Over Texas: Giant's first drop, back seat Sea World San Diego: Journey to Atlantis, first drop Belmont Park: Giant Dipper's second drop, back seat Knott's Berry Farm: Formerly Perilous plunge in the back seat, currently Xcelerator's top hat (back seat again) Disney California Adventure: Either Tower of Terror, first double-drop Disneyland: Indoor drop on Splash Mountain Universal Studios Hollywood: Jurassic Park Six Flags Magic Mountain: X2's first drop, row 7 California's Great America: Freefall tower (can't remember the name) Six Flags Discovery Kingdom: Superman's vertical drop after the barrel roll, back row WDW: Tower of Terror Busch Gardens Tampa: Montu's first drop, back row
  10. WHAT? There are literally no true statements here
  11. Something to keep in mind is that while the park hasn't necessarily been adding huge attractions the past few seasons, it has been making major infrastructure upgrades that would be greatly needed if the park were to grow substantially. Legitimate kids/family areas, higher-capacity locations for group meals and events, etc. were needed for the park to be able to handle bigger crowds. I don't know what Cedar Fair has in mind for the park long-term, but I certainly am keeping an open mind, especially having seen how the park has changed the last couple of years.
  12. So excited for this! I love that this has been in September recently, because it's during those first easy weeks of school. Plus that means parks are getting ready for haunt, and last year's tour was amazing.
  13. What I appreciate about Highroller is that it truly feels like an old wood coaster without being too rough. I generally prefer drops and airtime to loops, which is why it's ahead of corkscrew. Plus, I also am not a huge steel venom fan, so that explains where it falls on my list.
  14. ^That theater gets used for a number of private events, even though they don't typically have a show in there.
  15. 1. Renegade 2. Wild Thing 3. Excalibur 4. High Roller 5. Steel Venom 6. Corkscrew 7. Mad Mouse 8. Cosmic Coaster With every Arrow corkscrew or loop-screw I ride, I appreciate VF's even more for not trying to murder me.
  16. There's always rumors of things being gone, and people have always though Excalibur is on the chopping block, though no legitimate information has come out to support that. People just figure it's old Arrow coaster that's (generally) not as busy as other rides in the park. Does it make it more likely to be removed than something like Renegade or Wildthing? I suppose, but nothing solid has led people to believe it's going anywhere as of now. It could be on the way out, but something like the removal of an old, dilapidated drink stand from the area doesn't strike me as a sure sign of anything. As a fan of Excalibur, I always have an "enjoy it while we still have it" mindset, but nothing about the drink stand makes me particularly worried.
  17. Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland last week
  18. I've felt unsafe on a number of chance yo-yo's over the years.
  19. I asked the ride operator that exact same question, he said it had to do with the parks electricity bill or something I highly doubt that's the case. That would be a horrible decision from a guest service standpoint.
  20. At least this one won't be multiplying. True, most Chance Skydivers have reached sterility. They're definitely on the endangered list
  21. Over the last 8 years or so, I've come to realize that nobody really can pinpoint what the park will get. Everyone's been talking about a B&M since 2009 if not earlier, and here we are in 2014. I'm really happy with what the park has been adding, because it rounds out the park, but I think we're taking shots in the dark when it comes to something so specific as coaster styles. Especially when we try to guess based on how much money the park supposedly makes. For all we know, we could expect something even bigger, because they mentioned that VF is a park they see as having room for substantial growth. I also find the "there's another ______ x miles away" to be a bad indicator, because there are plenty of examples of those things happening (although I would definitely be bummed if the park got a eurofighter) Any time we try to guess more than a year or two out, the odds don't seem great. Things change fast in this industry. The most we can really do is look at what we feel the park is missing (Good waterpark, decent sized new coaster) and guess based on that.
  22. Ditto to what others have said, and Renegade is definitely a back seat ride. Just my two cents.
  23. CHURRO FACTORY! I hope this happens! The one at Knott's is amazing.
  24. I've ridden a handful of these and haven't seen one that has that.
  25. That said, when the new area opens this spring, it won't be an isolated area of the park. I would think if anything changed, the ridership would be higher as a result. I'm sure whatever they end up doing with it will be sufficient.
