I used to ski all the time, both downhill and freestyle. Terrain parks were my source of thrills during the amusement park offseason. Since moving to a much warmer part of the country, I haven't gone for a couple of years. I need to get back into it.

I get what you mean, but just be glad you don't have Goliath or Titan's lame, ramp-y drops. In the back rows, WT gives a few nice pops of air going over that drop, but you could take a nap during the drops on the Giovanola hypers (and many others). -

Now all they need to do is mount a Gravity Works Skyscraper on the side of the tower that loads from the top instead of the bottom. -

Probably not for decades, if even. It's a classic, it runs well, and is a great medium-intensity ride that almost everyone in the family can enjoy. Honestly, what tends to disappear from parks are aging Arrows. I don't think that even means anything at this point, but if we're gonna talk about what's most likely to be removed, that would probably be a better start. -

THIS Enough of all this nonsense about the supposed relationship (or lack thereof) between Cedar Fair and Intamin. Someone's either saying that Intamin is next because some guy on youtube thinks it will happen, or that CF somehow refuses to buy from them ever again. None of these claims have any kind of evidence to support them. -
Ride You Felt Was Unsafe?

The most afraid I've been on a ride that wasn't malfunctioning was the portable star-flyer type ride at the county fair. -

Basically everything between highroller and Chickies & Petes, behind Mad Mouse, Wheel of Fortune, The Games area where Mr Cleaver's Bloodshed is, etc -
Plans have been approved for a waterpark last I heard, but that doesn't mean that it's part of what is currently being worked on or even scheduled. It's in the cards somewhere, but I don't believe it's part of this phase of expansion. Great Wolf Lodge is a name that's been thrown around quite a bit.

I would lean towards no... from what I've heard, they just spent the last two years renovating the administration building and employee cafeteria, so I don't think those are moving in the near future. -
I would say the track won't be complete until early-mid April, and, barring setbacks, a Memorial Day opening, as Six Flags does (attempts to do) with all major ride openings. Rats, haha. Just a couple days after I leave college to go back home for the summer. I guess it'll be waiting for me next fall.

A longer launch means less force (per unit time), not more. That's what I said...the launch in the test run appears faster (shorter in duration over the same distance) than the animation and shorter than the originally announced 3.5 seconds so therefore the real life launch appears to be more forceful than originally anticipated (about 0.1G greater when calculated out). I think this is what confused people -
This is ridiculous. Even if they can fit one in, why would they want to build something that takes up that much space? I really don't expect to see any more coasters that aren't extremely compact, at least with the current layout of the park (if the great room or the american girl store suddenly goes, for example, that may change things). Never mind the fact that in most cases, a wooden coaster does require more maintenance than steel.

Wait, Valleyfair had a previous blog-type thing? Is there any way that I could read those? Idk if they're still up anywhere, but I want to say they had one in 2010 or 2011 that was written by two of the marketing people. They called it the "valley girls blog" or something like that. -

Okay, I want everyone to take a few deep breaths and calmly take a look at what Matt (the PR guy) posted just one entry ago You're all running wayyyyyy too far with the culinary guy's statements, all while ignoring the same kind of talk from Matt just one post ago. I think he just meant that as new food stuff happens at the park, the blog will update us on it. Along with new stuff across all the park's departments. I'm actually very excited that a variety of managers from the park will be taking the time to write for this in addition to the PR/Marketing people. We're getting a much more comprehensive look at the park than we did with previous blog-type things VF has done.
