  1. Exciting! Summer can't come fast enough.
  2. Not a terrible impact, but you will feel it on certain rides. Waits should still be quite minimal though. Especially in the morning right at open. Fairly Odd Coaster, Log Ride, and Rock Bottom Plunge had the worst waits when I went a couple Tuesdays ago. Most stuff is going to be single-op, which really slows things down if they get any sort of rush.
  3. That actually looks quite fun!
  4. People arguing persistently with the ride operator when their kid isn't tall enough to ride. Consider the liability that you are asking the employee to just shrug off.
  5. Very few rides will do this to me. However, the following have made the best attempts: -Chance Wipeout -Gerstlauer Sky Fly (If flipping at full speed throughout the entire cycle) -The backwards portion of your typical bouncy-bouncy carnival ride -Zamperla Balloon race (if sitting backwards)
  6. I honestly would not give that article much weight. Doesn't 15 mil for a Cedar Point version of a Dive Machine seem low? It could be in the works, but they haven't really come up with anything more solid than you'd find on a standard rumor site.
  7. Nothing about the nearby family attractions was in the article. It was just something some butthurt commenter brought up (not that the article is any more credible than the comments section anyways). Could it happen? I guess. But really... 15 mil for a dive machine? A dive machine that Cedar Point would be building? I'm calling BS. Aside from that, I agree that a flyer would add more to the park's lineup than this. Again, it certainly could happen, and I'm not one to rule out a coaster because of what a park already has (Carowinds, Canada's Wonderland, countless other examples) However, I will be surprised if they go with a dive machine before a flyer.
  8. I would hate to lose TC. It's basically the last ride that's got a lot of nature around it, and is an amusement park staple as far as I'm concerned. Plus, we have an unused amphitheater covering plenty of space to be used for a new coaster, and plenty of vacant areas for new flat rides. I hope they quit removing functioning rides and fill those other spaces in first.
  9. Magnum at Cedar Point. It's possibly my second favorite coaster there (just below Maverick). I love the feeling of flying out towards the lake, and then all of the ejector air on the way back. Plus I think Arrow lifts sound the best, so that's part of it.
  10. I don't think so, at least with their current style. I'm sure they're going to keep doing well with parks though, as they are very good at creating reliable, smooth attractions that the majority of guests will like. If only they were still building stuff like they did in the 90s. I just rode Kumba and Montu for the first time in 10 years this week. They still are better rides than a lot of what is out there today. Having ridden both fairly close together, Montu kicks even Banshee's ass at nearly 20 years old. *Banshee is still a great ride though! Its the closest to a "return to form" that I've seen from them in awhile.
  11. The park recently added a zipline to the ropes course. It looks like that picture was taken during the construction process.
  12. On the Twisted Colossus B-Roll video on youtube...
  13. These sims keep getting better and better! I love the new Test Track.
  14. It gets used.... the parking lot isn't even half full in that photo, so it makes sense that nobody chose to pay for it at that time of day. Also the concern with it being a season pass upgrade is the insane amount of season passholders that the parks have these days.
  15. I think they had some kind of meeting over there today. Mike Fehnel from Carowinds also tweeted something about it. I wouldn't read into it.
  16. Come on people, everyone knows size doesn't matter. It's how it's used.
  17. This is not a trend VF needs to hop on. I wouldn't mind a skyscreamer, but I would hope that the company isn't thrilled about adding more troublesome windseekers to the lineup.
  18. Intamin: Maverick B&M: Montu
  19. My top three (in no particular order): 1. Scream 2. Drop Tower 3. I think it's somewhere in asia, and roughly translates to "Super Super Cool Cool Bear" or something like that
  20. I don't care that much, but it is true in my experience that a lot of people look down on me for it. It's perfectly acceptable to be insanely obsessed with sports, but tell them I'm a coaster enthusiast and they think I'm a loser haha. At least out here in SoCal, there's tons of people at my school obsessed with Disneyland. I often wonder how the industry would look if amusement parks had the following sports has.
  21. It could be possible, but something to keep in mind is that there's still a good deal of space that can be used within the existing park right now. With the various relocations and removals of flats over the years, and the SBNO amphitheater, they've got awhile before they will really need to expand the current boundaries of the park. Also, last year was one of the first years in a long time that Renegade has been under water during the actual operating season, if I remember correctly. I just don't see a justification of the cost of such a huge project right now. Maybe it will happen eventually, but I don't see such a huge investment taking place when it's still largely unnecessary.
  22. You are correct. Some give better rides than others. Valleyfair's has gotten terrible, but the one at Knott's runs really well. CP's is somewhere in between.
  23. The orange/yellow building is a changing facility with showers and bathrooms. My guess would be that the hole is for the splash pad.... possibly for new pipes or something. I would assume the supports will be steel, as that's what most modern structures have been.
  24. 2 - I actually would be devastated if it left, because it's one of the two best I've ridden. Ours and WOF's seem to be positioned in a way that allows for more slack in the lines, prolonging the free-fall. I don't really see it leaving anyways... I'm sure it makes enough to justify using the space, and there is still much more space leading up to Route 76 that should be used first. That area still feels separate from the rest of the park. 4. I actually would rather they keep the water. It is a water ride, and that's what helps make it fun. Knotts' doesn't ever spray you, and it really does take away from the experience. That said, I wouldn't be terribly opposed to Riptide just being removed to make room for nice things. 5. We can only hope.
