  1. Yes, but at the same time it is sort of abrupt and awkward, kind of like cyclone at SFNE except with more painful restraints.
  2. The thread is pretty self explanatory. I say Intimidator 305 back row hands down! You are practically catapulted over that thing and it has an unmatched intensity that lasts so long! It feels like it pulls up much later than MF..
  3. YES. Overhead lap bars that retain the size and ergonomics of a t-bar or el toro restraint..
  4. ^Yup. The slow corkscrews is the best thing about anaconda. Such good hangtime!
  5. ^Awesome! Im always afraid when parks modify restraints, especially after the disaster restrain modifications that Superman Ride of Steel received when it became bizarro that essentially ruin the ride and kill my enjoyment of any airtime..
  6. Anyone notice the different restraint pads? What exactly did they change?
  7. I just want to say that between my ride on El Toro in the summer, and all the rides I got this past Saturday for the riding of the bull, I can safely say that it is running better than I ever remember it running! The airtime was almost skyrush level aggressiveness, and places that used to be dull (like after the turnaround and before the brakes) the train is hauling and I am getting great airtime and forcefulness. In fact i think one of my favorite parts on the ride is now the second to last hill because you get such an amazing combination of left laterals, ejector, and then right laterals. Just a couple seasons ago I remember it creeping through that, and i felt totally bored coming into the brakes. One thing I have noticed though is how rough the back row of the last couple cars have gotten, it's hard to tell if it's just because it is running so aggressively, but the turnaround and final section have some notable shaking. Again, those are some of the more forceful areas on any ride I have ridden, so they could be far worse. Has anyone else noticed any of this? Also, how the hell did this ride ever not slow down at the top? That sounds like it would be painful if they did that now.. Had the ride just not broken in as much? And why did they slow it down exactly?
  8. Interesting shaping on that first drop, very dive - like. Should be cool..
  9. ^I agree. Only a few B&M have really wowed me, such as nitro, montu, alpengeist, and maybe incredible hulk. On the other hand, Intimidator 305, my recent rides on El Toro, storm runner, skyrush, maverick, millenium force, top thrill dragster, and superman ride of steel all place above them, and left me completely speechless.
  10. ^^Well then how does bizarro at SFNE stop completely, have the brakes remain closed, and then open to let the drive tires carry it into the station?
  11. Judging from other POVs, this is a very difficult ride to get a good POV of, but yours does a great job at capturing the experience. I really enjoyed watching it so thanks! Question- What is so bad about the new trains compared to the old ones?
  12. 1. Kraken 2. Hydra 3. Sheikra 4. Griffon 5. Bizarro 6. Batman
  13. ^I sure hope not. Is it a bad Idea to suggest that we continue to complain?
  14. ^^Why does the drop look so incredibly deformed in that photo? It Looks like it comes to a point..
  15. ^Great report. I totally agree about Fahrenheit, it is really a great ride, but it is overshadowed by storm runner I think, since storm runner is just so outstanding. It's a shame to hear wildcat has gotten rough; last year when I rode it I enjoyed it more than lightning racer and only found it to be mildly rougher. And the millennium flier restraints have always bothered me too. They need better springs to keep their weight from crushing you. I also want to mention that even though Great bear is not quite as good as say alpengeist or raptor, i find it has enough character to compete with them. I personally fiind the section before the corkscrew to be one of my favorite parts on any b&m invert. The sequence of transitions as well as the bizarre support foot choppers make it really fun and interesting. Then the corkscrew really comes out of nowhere. I think its just that final straight track that gets to people.. But just think; its better than the brake run stretching out that far like some newer b&ms. I also agree that skyrush has so much potential killed by the restraints. They are mildly painful over the hills, and even more so by the end of the ride. I feel like if they simply shortened the vertical bars a bit on either side, they would be perfect. Just so that they rest on your waist instead of your thighs.. Until then storm runner will remain my favorite coaster at the park.
  16. ^^so is every seat on a millenium flyer. The biggest reason fro roughness on gg rides is that M&V actually manufactures the ride and they are not nearly as precise with track work as gci. So when the ptc is put on it, every imperfection is amplified every year that it runs with them. I'm assuming that timberline rs would prevent that from happening, considering that wooden warrior is just as "smooth" now as when it opened.
  17. I personally love alpengeist. And it's not that everyone eryone else hates it, but I place it far above any other coaster in the park, and consider it to be one of the best B&M creations. Also, again not that necessarily everyone hates it, I just consider it to be a top 5 rideand far preferred it to Bizarro. I think part of that is the awful trains that ruin the airtime on bizarro. But even so, nothing compares to the pacing and intensity of those final airtime hills. Even the first turn after the drop is just so much more unique than anything on bizarro.
  18. ^ONLY the outside seats in row 2 and 4 have been modified. And I am not sure whether that is both trains.
  19. Well since it just got retrofitted wwith topper track i doubt they will be removing it or redoing it any time soon.
  20. Yup according to other sites the outside seats on rows 2 and 4 have been modified not to lock.. Should be pretty awesome! If all goes well with those they may modify the rest of the seats by the end of the season.
  21. Yeah they were probably lubing it up.( ) Thats what wood coasters do sometimes, ive heard much worse on cyclone at sfne and hurler.
