  1. Can someone explain to me why ride or steel is at 38 on the mitch hawker poll while s:ros is all the way down at 62? They are mirror images so how can the difference be that drastic?
  2. we are visiting on Sunday the 28th. I have a couple questions: how crowded will it be? And Will intimidator be open?
  3. Are there any rides that have one thing that really keep it being an awesome ride? Or another element of some sort that could be added that would improve it? Some examples that come to mind for me: - Millenium force's straight section should be a second ejector hill. I feel like it would add so much to the pacing of the end of the ride. - bizarros trains. What was wrong with roomy t-bars and being able to see in front of you? - skyrushs trains. Would have been fine with otsrs..
  4. ^if you don't like airtime then not at all! And you say 70 degrees as if its impressive.. Millenium force, build the same year by the same manufacturer is 100 ft taller and almost vertical.. and only has t-bars. That isn't lame in any seat.
  5. ^nope it's totally the opposite. Sfne is my home park so I have been on it enough to know, it literally isn't worth riding unless it's in the back and at night. If you ride the front after the back it may get more of a pop on the airtime hills but you don't get the slingshot sensation you get in the back where each hill gets increasingly intense until you suddenly pull out. Honestly the back just feels much faster and more out of control. Also, The first drop is worthless in the front.
  6. I am more than satisfied with the intensity of the first launch! Almost accelerates like it's hydraulic..
  7. Looks like a poorly designed nolimits recreation of batman at sfne..
  8. ^Now that I think about it a few seconds means quite a bit more speed since its so short. But putting the camera closer to the track does give the illusion of moving faster because the frame of reference (track) is closer. Either way this ride looks omfg crazy and I wish I had some excuse to head out there this year. Any good tech schools near SDC?
  9. ^Its about a few seconds faster, not much of a difference I think its because the camera is placed closer to the track on the newer one. It really does look nice with those trees filled in! It really gives it that in the forest feel..
  10. Looks fine to me.. Ive ridden timberliners on wooden warrior and they feel very fit to handle an inversion and the M&V trackwork looks almost gci quality. Should be interesting!
  11. Pretty sure the clicking is just the sound of the wheels passing over the track seams. Montu is the same way.. Anyway it seems like the ride itself is running much faster, and the pacing an intensity seems better than the other wing riders. Can't wait to ride this summer! Anyone else think wing riders would be more fun with traditional b&m restraints as opposed to the vests? How are the vests? Do they take away from the ride or the airtime?
  12. That is not the reason they changed the restraints. The other Superman's are still using the same restraints. The new ones are there to accommodate larger people.
  13. I totally agree. This was my favorite coaster for years, but it's barely in my top 10 now. As my first ride of this coaster was this past weekend, I can't speak to the pre bizarro experience, but this coaster blows the other [superman] ride of steels away, with or without the speakers. At least the trains don't have the shin restraints. I would FAR prefer the modified t bars than the thigh bricks that the current trains have. I remember I would easily be able to leave an inch or two of space with superman ros and the airtime was glorious. Now the airtime just plain hurts.
  14. Is the double down really that painful?
  15. Well if it were i305 that would be one thing, but I would not wait more than 30 minutes for bizarro. I would have gladly waited over an hour for superman ride of steel, which was most certainly one of the best ride experience to be found. Bizarro is just a rattly, thigh bruising, off paced ride with its new trains since the retheme. The should at least remove those awful headrests. I'm disappointed in how sfne has let such an awesome ride deteriorate.
  16. ^^that is not really ejector. That's just painful.. Maverick has ejector if you wanna know what that's like. For me its a question of forcefulness vs not forcefulness so I choose the prior.
  17. Just an observation that it is running painfully slow in that video
  18. Kings dominion is such a fantastic park and it has only gotten better every time I have visited! I enjoyed the park as a whole better than any other cedar fair park (even cp). Great atmosphere and balanced ride selection.
  19. ^why? I myself am a huge fan of flight of fear I think it is a fantastic ride!
  20. ^YES THE HILL! I also love every other "moment" of that ride.
  21. ^everything in that transition is totally deliberate and well made. I can recreate the same awkwardness with FVDs. it is mostly just the heartline that screws with that shaping.
  22. SOO MANY In no particular order- - Hulks beginning sequence - Volcano's Beginning sequence and large high speed turn - Intimidator 305's 3rd low to the ground hill where you get thrown to the right and dive back to the left and get crazy airtime, and the two following transitions - Mr. Freeze top hat - Flight of Fears launch into the dark tunnel with the blinding camera flash - Kraken's turn after the cobra and turn in the tunnel before the corkscrew - Nitro's diving drops and hammerhead - Cyclone's (sfne) drop into the structure next to the first drop - Titan's giant airtime hill - Hypersonic's launch sequence (BEEP, BEEP, BEEP (hissing) "face forward, keep your head against the headrest, your arms must be down, prepare for launch" (waiting) (hissing stops) Light turns gr-- WOOOOSHH!!!! (crazy airtime)) - Apollos chariots random turning hill - Alpengeist's cobra roll - Goliath (sfne) tower drops - Storm runners stengel dive - Great bears sequence of turns and corkscrew over the river - Kinda Ka/ TTD launch (still gets after 10+ rides during ert) - Uninverting loop on H:RRR - First drop on Sheikra (and griffon) - Boulder dash's huge drop midride and triple up - Lightning racers low to the ground sequence - Hydra's jojo roll - Cobra roll on DD: Ice
  23. ^i was reffering to the lap bars. I'm pretty sure they are higher just look at how they come up above the edge of the seat when before they were at the same level or below the edge. I hope so because that would mean that they fixed the main problem with them which was where they fell on your lap. Now they should restrain you more towards the waist.
