  1. I would drive all the way from new England to ride a megalite if they built one. That plus voyage equals the best lineup ever
  2. ^^No drops have given me that sensation in years except maybe lochness monster in the back row so I don't really judge drops based off of that ^What? Also I305 is steeper than skyrush. Im pretty sure its the steepest drop there is that isnt a dive machine or a beyond vertical drop isnt it? (85deg)
  3. The back is awesome because of the massive airtime you get on the first drop. There is absolutely no other drop that has ever given me the same sensation as I305 in the back row, not el toro, mf (maybe comparable), or skyrush. The airtime is so intense and you keep falling for what feels like forever.
  4. ^what? I think you are confused about what he meant. He means to say that he would prefer if the vests werent there, it doesnt require that the bar changes position at all
  5. I still don't understand what exactly about Banshee could be as exciting as Montu... I really would like it to be, but realistically it doesn't seem like its actually possible.
  6. Regardless of whether seat is touching you or not the force acting on you is the same. Negative force feels like negative force.. The only case where I can argue that this isn't the case is with floater airtime, in which case the only way to really sense that the airtime is taking place is when you lift out of your seat.
  7. ^I don't think his intention is to avoid properly using the restraints. His post is regarding the ride operators that apply unnecessary force when securing the restraint. A couple inches of give would (or at least should) really never be enough to put the safety of the rider in jeopardy. I do, however, agree that it is wrong for him to promote doing this in the case that someone does not realize exactly what he means. Edit: I guess I was speaking for myself sort of since im smaller to begin with but I can see where people of different body types might be at a high risk in trying to get extra space with the restraint.
  8. ^lol yeah I'm pretty sure they just flat out can't fit them. This is good news for hyper with the traditional seating arrangements.
  9. STORMRUNNERS PAINT JOB!! How are they running it this year? I know there have been years where it crawled over that tophat and others where it flew the whole way.. The latter is in my top ten.
  10. ^It seems to me like poltergeist is running the best of the premier spaghetti bowls. What makes it so good?
  11. ^me neither, the track color is okay but the supports kind of ruin the scheme. Regardless the ride will be fantastic.
  12. I really liked it personally but my head was above the restraints so I can't tell exactly how rough it was. Other people didn't seem to be as thrilled about it..
  13. ^Nope I totally agree. Just an average ride in my mind.. It tracks fairly well for some of the forces it offers in my opinion. I also found wildcat at Hershey to be somewhat enjoyable though..

  15. Intamin had to modify SkyRush's lap bar because riders slip back at the 50 degrees lift hill and leave a gap between the restrain and rider's lap. On a ride with extreme ejector air, SkyRush's lap bar definitely need to automatically tighten for safety so it is only an exception. Wait they fixed it??? I thought they just gave it softer foam..
  16. This is a total fantasy but I really want great adventure to get a full circuit intamin impulse.. It would just fit perfectly into the parks lineup in my opinion. They need another launched coaster in the park. It's bizarre to me that the only one ever made was Volcano.
  17. Ok, but it is to help strengthen the track, which is exactly what I said, so you're pretty much proving my point. Look this is really splitting hairs, and anyway the conversation is about RMC. I'm still pretty sure it's the steel in the track that allows them to do what they do. When a coaster is built with a dive loop using completely traditional track, no widened running plate, no nothing, then we'll talk, and I'm pretty confident that will be never. They only widened it to be absolutely sure that the trains running wheels don't loose contact with the steel. There is no structural strength benefit from this. Plus, most modern GG and GCI coasters have very wide running plates for the same reason when compared to older wooden coasters. It does not make them less wooden.
  18. Hydra had amazing pacing when I rode it a couple summers ago so I don't know what your talking about.. People comparing banshee to alpengeist should realise the fact that they are designed very differently. As you said, banshee has constant rotation and curvature in the layout. Alpengeist has long speedy floaty sections of track immediately followed by powerful rotations, changes in direction, and force. This is what makes alpengeist one of the best coasters I think B&M ever made, because it's moments of sheer intensity are in stark contrast to the sensation of speed and flying felt between them. In a similar way, dueling dragons needed sections of track that served the purpose of navigating between the elements that interact, and provide a contrast in force. The last corkscrew on fire comes right after a straight section and it catches me off guard every time and feels very forceful. Even Hydra had this type of effect to a certain degree. It's unfortunate that b&m seems to have lost this quality in their rides. They are always repetitive throughout the ride constantly doing something that is similar to what it just did with no moments of surprise..
  19. The steel takes the majority of the stress though and the wood just sort of absorbs shock
