  1. My parents have some eight-millimeter footage my Dad shot there back in the 1950s. It's so weird being able to see the then-burning settler's cabin from all sides, thanks to the still very young trees and bushes planted on Tom Sawyer's Island.
  2. Thanks for the help! It's much appreciated! I have never posted on the forums before but I have been following the site and Facebook page for a long while now. Figured Id register to forums to extend my thanks to you for the donation, and Naina for her help as well . You're welcome! Go have good time for a great cause.
  3. ^More pictures of food! Tell your story in your own way, Joey--that's the way to do it.
  4. I don't hate Hershey's ride, but having that ride system just so people can shoot at plywood cutouts is like driving a Ferrari around a strip-mall parking lot. Besides, can you shoot your opponents on the Hershey Cup Challenge and make them spin out of control? I think not! Now if you could shoot the "sportscasters" and make their heads explode, that would be something. Meanwhile, it sounds like Movie World might be getting a world-class shooter.
  5. The best way to criticize someone else's trip report is to write your own damn trip report. Your opinion has been duly noted and logged.
  6. Yes, Alice has been around the block a few times and become an "elder statesman" of shock rock. But his core 1970s albums (Love It to Death, Killer, School's Out, Billion Dollar Babies, and Welcome to My Nightmare) hold up pretty well.
  7. Flowriders do eliminate the "drowning" aspect of wipeouts, and they are like landing on a wet pillow. But you can still wrench your back pretty well on a Flowrider, as I found out on a cruise last year. Lots of fun, though.
  8. I remember back in 2008 that I loved GeForce and the dark ride, but thought that the rest of the park needed work--nice to see that it got it courtesy of Plopsa.
  9. Am I seeing things? "Followed by Men in Black"? Well, to each his own. Is this the ride system that Sally's been showing at IAAPA? It sounds like just the ride that Movie World needs.
  10. ^KD has sold beer in a some of their restaurants for quite some time (for example, the pizza parlor in the Grove). The last time TPR held an East Coast Bash there, they had a keg of Sam Adams.
  11. And in case you need even more proof of Joey's incredible appetite . . . That was an excellent day--even by Knoebels standards!
  12. All should heed the moose. Is Calaway sort of the "Lake Winnie of Canada"?
  13. GASM was running very well last year--I think of it as Rebel Yell on steroids.
  14. I never rode the Pack Mules, but I remember them being there when I was a kid (I think they got rid of them sometime in the 1970s). As I recall, the Pack Mules' trail used to cross over the Mine Train's tracks somewhere in the "Living Desert" (via a "natural bridge").
  15. Yeah, that's what I thought they were saying, too--either that, or "TROY! Turbo Nazi!"
  16. And he was asking people to sign an e-mail petition to send to the Six Flags "prime board members"? Yeah, not buyin' it.
  17. Yep, this takes me back. I recall the Mine Train through Nature's Wonderland used recorded commentary back when I was a kid (I loved that ride). Thanks for sharing the pictures!
  18. It's got to be better than Spin Bullet. Then again, being dragged behind a bus would be better than riding Spin Bullet.
  19. ^^I can see where it could be a good thing (for example, getting the Alice Cooper house without having to travel to LA, or if it helps make both events better). We''ll see how it goes.
  20. As much as I'd like to check out an Alice Cooper maze (been a fan of his since I was in jr. high school), it does look like were getting nearly identical events on either coast.
  21. Yes, it looks like they were lucky no guests were wandering around under there at the time.
  22. BGW and Water Country USA are running some new promotions for the second half of summer.
