  1. More I305 ERT is always great news! Thanks, Robb!
  2. If they've installed Desperadoes . . . . . . they're definitely improving. Glad to hear that they're trying to spruce the park up a bit.
  3. One of the most insane "playgrounds," ever--a huge funhouse.
  4. ^Yeah, the best you can say is that it's meant for some park, somewhere--that's about it at this point.
  5. ^That's what I was thinking, too. Sometimes, we're all a bit too worried about dying from embarrassment (emphasis on the third syllable).
  6. ^Yes, if Dracula liked flume rides, he would sleep in that boat.
  7. ^I think you'll be fine. I kid Verbolten, but it seems more dependable now that it was in June. They sell them in the pretzel bakery next to Mach Tower (across from Verbolten).
  8. I'd guessed that Voyage would end up "winning," but that ride is pretty inconsistent. Catch it early in the season, and it can be great; ride it late, and it's rough and painful. More of a Raven fan, myself. But El Toro runs great all season.
  9. Obviously, you've never ridden Verbolten. (But it seems to be better now that it was in June.)
  10. It should've won the poll on Insane Coaster Wars last night.
  11. ^Soft-style pretzel. Both rides may be back up by today, for all I know.
  12. ^I was at the park for a few hours early this evening, but I didn't time the wait for Verbolten with five trains. It broke down long enough for me to grab a pretzel dog and a beer (about 15 minutes). Mach Tower was down again, and Alpengeist was out of action, as well, with a train stuck on the lifthill.
  13. That is, pretty much, the X:/ experience--yet I find this ride endearing in its stupidity. I'm not a big fan of Colossus, either.
  14. Perhaps someone was just very ill (for example, had a seizure). I didn't see anything about it in the local news, either.
  15. ^Summer Saturdays are usually very busy--you might want to spring for Quick Queue.
  16. This is a good example of the real-life consequences of a mishap that would happen to the Three Stooges on a regular basis. I hope the guy pulls through, and that a valuable lesson has been learned.
  17. Aww . . . that's just because Raptor loves you so much!
  18. ^If the Verbolten queue is full, the wait is about 40 minutes with four-train operations.
  19. Every year it seems the people visiting the park early in the season discuss the improvements they have seen in attitude and operations, but as the season wears on everything seems to gravitate to the norm at SFA. I think SFA is a "springtime" park--that is, visit it early in the season before the hordes arrive and the staff and rides get particularly grumpy. Glad you had a good time at BGW. I think your take on Verbolten is pretty close to my own (not a huge thrill machine, but a lot of fun)--and it's a hit with the public.
  20. Obviously, all their brains have been shaken loose and are rattling around in their skulls--hence, their dopey expressions.
  21. I just kicked in 10 bucks to each rider--where are the rest of you? Give something to Give Kids the World, or . . . . . . Angus will ship himself to your house! Do not cross Angus!
  22. ^I agree that Mindbender is the best coaster at SFOG.
  23. The scariest thing about it was all the noise the car was making.
