*VOTE* GIGA COASTER CHALLENGE
pvcoasterguy replied to crispy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I voted for Sandstorm. I thought it was very good looking and very well designed. -
I may actually see this one. Also, it's being released in IMAX, so try to see it there- it's quite amazing.

EuroTour 2005 - Photo TR of Belgium & Dutch Parks
pvcoasterguy replied to captain's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great TR's! That whitewater rapids mat thingy looks pretty fun! (The one in the market dome.) It looks pretty good; how is it? -
I thought the boomerang at SFNO was a lot smoother than the Jester. The Jester was really rough, but, in a fun sense? I mean, it's fun because you're laughing because you're getting smacked around so much.

Best Turnround and drop on a coaster
pvcoasterguy replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
American Eagle Backwards, last car. The first drop is totally insane yet totally awesome and airtime-filled. The best turnaround? How about Superman: Ride of Steel's (SFNE) helix of death? It's pretty intense and I think it classifies a a turnaround. -
Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
pvcoasterguy replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Worst: Ice Dragon- "Let's take a really awesome ride and add two boring turns to the end of it!" Hulk- "After a totally unique first half, we'll need to end with a generic B&M ending" Best: Batman: The Ride- It doesn't let up. Viper- Total ejector air at the end. -
Favorite brand of bottled water!
pvcoasterguy replied to SonOfBeastSucks's topic in Random, Random, Random
Market Pantry (Target Brand)- It's very good, tastes like Aquafina, and averages out to about $.17 per bottle. I also like Aquafina. -
Um... my day was okay. I was sick on Friday, so I had quite a bit of make-up work to do, although I've finished most of it. I just finished a hard English assignment (I can never pick the theme out of a story) and right a paper on it. Fun, fun! Highlight of the day: Learning that my band is going to spend four days at Disney World during spring break. Lowlight of the day: Literature assignment

Where in the world ARE Robb & Elissa?
pvcoasterguy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Fun game. I enjoyed it, and some of the guesses were totally random and funny. I was got the AA clue (the only one I got!) Anyways, I'm looking forward to the TR! -
Where in the world ARE Robb & Elissa?
pvcoasterguy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have no idea where you guys are, however, you were in a plane. Those air vents toward the top of the picture are very characteristic of the MD-80 family, which American operates many of. But, those aren't American's seats- American's seats have winged headrests. So, what is part of the MD-80 family with those seats? Looks like AirTran to me. Top Ten Movies Of The Year So Far.....
pvcoasterguy replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
I've seen the top five on the list, and none of the others. (Weird.) Anyways, I work at an IMAX theater and right now they're playing Batman Begins, will soon be playing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Both are very popular and look even more amazing on the IMAX screen. -
Telling woodies apart.
pvcoasterguy replied to imbordisux's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Pianojohn, A bunch of Six Flags woodies are actually really good! Six Flags built Viper at Six Flags Great America themselves, and look how awesome it is! It's an amazing ride. Also, American Eagle has been running very well the past couple years (as good as Viper), and hopefully it's getting a refurbishment for its 25th anniversary. -
Actually, American Eagle is probably one of the most underrated rides- it's simply amazing in the front car, and good in other cars. People give it awful ratings for no reason. In addition, both of rumors are false. Iron Wolf won't be going anywhere. It got a train refurbished last off-season and recieved a new safety sign. V2 got struck by lightning, and they are currently are fixing it. (A bunch of the electric parts were fried.)

Inventions or Ideas that people came up with that SUCK!
pvcoasterguy replied to BelizeIt's topic in Random, Random, Random
The seat cushion flotation device. WTF? I'll sure want to bobbing around in the ocean with a seat cushion which had a billions of people's asses on it. They're also bad because, the ones that are used for flotation are pure foam, and aren't comfortable to sit on. -
Tips for Florida Trip and fastpass question !
pvcoasterguy replied to Skyscraper's topic in Ask Alvey
^ I'd definatly second that. The on-site hotels are very nice, and you feel like a VIP at the parks, with your key card. Waits for the Express lines are almost always fifteen mintues or less, and that's for the totally amazing rides at Universal. The parks are also walking distance from the hotels. -
Man dies after 50 hours of computer games

Wow... that's very sad. So what the lesson learned from this? Anyone? Anyone? Read the warnings in the game's manual... they're not kidding! -
Backward Coasters
pvcoasterguy replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been on The American Eagle backwards... if you go in the last car or row, the first drop is totally crazy. It feels like absolute freefall, kind of like the feeling on an Intamin Drop Tower. You're out of your seat the entire drop The rest of the ride is fun, but the first hill is amazing. -
Chance or Huss?
pvcoasterguy replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Huss, without a doubt. Troika = Awesome. Breakdance = Scrambler on steriods. Top Spin = Crazy, depending on program (SFGAm's is crazy... six flips in a row.) Frisbee = Weird, but a ton of fun! Enterprise (okay, the verison I went on was Schwarzopf, but, same concept) = Bizarre, fun, and totally awesome. Swing Around = Cool and Fun. Condor = Meh... Chance needs to be commended on their Falling Star... at some places, where they let it run full force, it's totally amazing, with a ton of airtime. -
Deja Vu isn't open 99% of the time anyways, so it's not like they actually need a ramp... they can just figure something out. (Or can't.)

If you want to sell something, go to Ebay. But, even if you do, the ticket will not be vaild, and you will have comitted a crime (companies take this very seriously now.) From my Six Flags ticket: "Only tickets obtained from Six Flags or offices authorized by Six Flags to sell/distribute will be honored. Ticket not valid if reproduced in any manner. Resale of this ticket is strictly prohibited (In California, violation of the Scalping Law, Penal Code Section 346, is punishable by up to $1000 and imprisonment in the County Jail for up to six months.)"

Julie goes to Indiana Beach and SFGAm Photo TR
pvcoasterguy replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I wouldn't always believe the queue time signs. They only post for the wait "when full." But, for some reason, they change them to totally random things. I share your opinion about the American Eagle. I love it. It is quite the classic coaster, and a ton of fun. It's great in the front seat going forwards, and back going backwards. It's my favorite ride in the park, followed by Viper and Raging Bull. -
Hated coasters you like.
pvcoasterguy replied to imbordisux's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have quite a few: - Arrow Loopers. I think they're fun. Demon, Python, and Shockwave all are (or were) great fun. Shockwave, when I went on it, was glass smooth, and better than B&M loopers. (I know, crazy.) - Iron Wolf. If you get in the refurbished train, you're in for a fun, smooth, and amazingly intense ride. Try to notice how fast Iron Wolf goes through its corkscrew- it's amazing. - American Eagle. It's my favorite ride at Six Flags Great America. It's awesome in the front row going forwards- tons of air. And, it's amazing in the back row going backwards (the row that goes down the hill last.) It feels like you're freefalling down that drop, and it's a sensation that you don't really get on many other coasters. - Gwazi. I really don't think this ride is as rough as people say it is. In fact, I find it very smooth for a wooden coaster. The overbanked hill on this ride is crazy, as are the suprises that this ride provides. - Schwarzkopfs. While they're not hated, they aren't talked about or loved enough. I find this man a genius, and even his smallest works are works of art. Scorpion may be small, but it packs a punch, and is forceful. Whizzer may be a little tame, but it's one of the most enjoyable rides ever made. Those turns are so cool through the trees, especially the one real close to the ground. The first drop may be shallow, but there's an awesome twist to it. I always tell my friends to put their hands up as we're first going down the drop, and it's fun to see them slam their hands down as soon as we turn. The Schwarzkopfs are still smooth, even after many years of constant use. The Whizzer is still the smoothest ride at Six Flags Great America, smoother than Raging Bull, which, really vibrates a ton at the bottom of the drops, which feels really weird. It feels like a massage chair, especially on your ass. Strange? Yes. True? Yes.
