  1. Hey Robbie, I got picked for one of these programs too. However, I'm going to China, in late July/early August, which sounds really interesting for me. Now, I just need to learn some Chinese... and mentally prepare myself for the 14 hour flight from LAX. (And I still have to get LAX from here, in Bettendorf, IA.)
  2. - Viper: Double Down/Last Bunny hilll. Tons of air in both of those places. - American Eagle: Drop coming out of first helix. While there are trims there, they don't impede the total abruptness of the drop- total ejector air.
  3. Nice TR! I can't wait until I get to go to Walt Disney World with my band during spring break. I haven't been to Disney for more than seven years.
  4. I'm not really sure what the deal is with the corrput file; it's not working for me either. While I try to sort this stuff out, I'd just reccomend making your own scenario in the scenario editior of RCT2. It'll take no more than ten minutes, and you can choose everything in your scenario.
  5. If anyone thinks that the Hopkins coasters with lap bars are brutal, come on over to Adventureland, where we've got a Hopkins with OSTR's! Totally brutal ride- the helices are insanely rough. The only way to escape with a "that wasn't too bad" ride is to ride in the front row. The ride sucks; I hope it will be leaving soon.
  6. I highly reccomend making your own scenario, so you can put anything you want in it- I just put as many different things as I could in it. However, now I saved the file as a saved game this time; hopefully it will import the objects! Holiday Workbench V.2.zip Let's Try Again
  7. I thought that it would be really cool if a bunch of us made parks and one was released each day during the holiday season. Kind of like a 'TPR gift exchange' Here's the info: 1) Make a 50 x 50 or smaller park using the workbench provided or using your own workbench! 2) In your theme, answer this question: Where do you want to visit? Example answers could be: Egypt, Space, a generic Six Flags park, McDonalds, whatever! Just tell us with your theme what place you want to visit! It doesn't have to be Christmas or holiday themed at all! 3) Send your park to me by December 19 in order to release the first park on December 20. I'll randomly determine the order that the parks are released in. 4) This is not a contest! It's just a fun way to try to complete a given task. Thinking up RCT parks without any substance is very difficult. With the question, it is easier to come up with a park, and overall, more fun and entertaining! 5) You're not going to be held back with any workbench, however, I have included one. Make sure your park is 50 x 50 squares or less. Make your own workbench to suit your tastes. 6) We're looking for ten or more parks to be submitted. A person may submit more than one park if they'd like. I hope this sounds fun for you, and enjoy yourself making the park! Remember to answer the question: Where do you want to visit? The workbench is located below; make your own workbench if you'd like. If you use either of the expansions, be sure to tell me when you send your entry into me. If you have any questions, please let me know. Also, if you'd like to participate, let me know! Holiday Workbench V.1.zip Workbench- design your own if you'd like!
  8. I love Six Flags Great America's top spin- it has a pretty good program. You do six flips in a row, very fast, which is pretty crazy. One of the best flat rides I've ever been on.
  9. Another sale fare, this time from United for the people near Chicago. They have an awesome e-fare deal almost every week to LHR. (And it's a round trip deal, too!) Sample fares are for travel beginning December 5 through December 8, 2005 and returning December 12 through December 15, 2005. Additional taxes and fees apply.* Baltimore (BWI) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (GIG) $854 Chicago (ORD) Frankfurt, Germany (FRA) $425 Chicago (ORD) London, England (LHR) $296 Chicago (ORD) Paris, France (CDG) $429 Los Angeles (LAX) Los Cabos, Mexico (SJD) $109 Los Angeles (LAX) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (GIG) $915 Los Angeles (LAX) Sao Paulo, Brazil (GRU) $915 Phoenix (PHX) Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (PVR) $199** San Francisco (SFO) London, England (LHR) $371 San Francisco (SFO) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (GIG) $955 Washington, D.C. (IAD) Paris, France (CDG) $383 Washington, D.C. (IAD) Zurich, Switzerland (ZRH) $373 O'Hare to Heathrow round trip for $296? Wow... Thought I'd post these because they are some of the best international fare deals around, if any of you get the sudden urge to go somewhere soon.
  10. Yeah... this season sucks. I'm sure that the honchos at CBS won't ever make the mistake of doing another crappy Family edition. There is no point to this season. I watched TAR (Amazing Race) to see the amazing places and difficult challenges. Both of these are "eliminated" this season, making for a very boring season. Hopefully we'll get a good season next year. Right now, I'm just watching re-runs from past seasons on GSN.
  11. ^^ I don't think we allow "pre-calling" turns... we never used to do that, it seemed unfair. I think we should only allow people to say "WIP" if no one else is working on the project.
  12. ^ A common misconception among the coaster riding community. Flat rides can be just as exciting as flat rides, if not even more exciting. Give me a Top Spin or an Enterprise. Troikas are fun too. Flats provide a fun experience and are good for in between rides. You can have a ton of fun with your friends on a Frisbee... try it sometime. It's also fun to try and fit two guys in an enterprise or watch the wincing commence as the restrains on the top spin fall... crushing all beneath them.
  13. Six Flags shouldn't be the bad guy in this topic. They've kept so many Schwarzkopfs in a bunch of parks and kept them to their original standards. Mindbender, Shockwave, Greezed Lightning, and Whizzer come to mind. It's a great thing that Six Flags has kept these rides. SFMM probablyhad to put OSTR's on Revolution. I highly doubt that it was their choice. I mean, Whizzer runs with seat belts only. Mindbender and Shockwave with lap bars only. It wasn't in Six Flags' history to retrofit their rides with bad restraints.
  14. Eww... the Jet Stream water is disgusting. I guess SFMM can even mess up water. Does anyone know if Jet Stream is one of the hydroflumes (has one of the spine-crunching, knee-banging jumps?) I got so many injuries from Yankee Clipper at SFGAm this year... do not try to fit five people in that ride. Anyways, great TRs. Looks like you had a great time. Now I get to go clean 3D glasses four times at our IMAX and clean the theater after the devastation they call The Polar Express 3D Believe me, that theater is so disgusting afterwards, it'll about make you puke.
  15. Hmm... let's see 1) Deja Vu- no, I'm not going to wait in a three hour line for it when all the other coasters have 15 minute waits. 2) Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride- If I see the single rider line out of the door, or the Express line at the same spot, I know that it's going to be a 45 minute wait even in the 'fast' lines. (Which, suprisingly, was the same as the normal line.) I love Revenge of the Mummy, but I wouldn't wait that long for it when I could get five minute waits at night. (USF version) 3) Any wild mouse- the lines move very slow. Enough said. Wait for those is painful. 4) Intamin Impulse- I love the rides... except when they have long lines. They usually move fast, but the line at Great America is awful. No shade at all, Fastlane people get to go always ahead of you (they don't have a ratio at V2.)
  16. I love the entrance area- it's great! The structures, while simple, are very cool. I also like the realism of the coaster- where did you get the catwalks and supports? Great job, and I'm looking forward to see more.
  17. El Toro Coming soon to SFGADv
  18. Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England had the most airtime that I've had on a coaster... ever. However, Raging Bull's first drop in the back is one of the best moments of airtime; Cyclops also has some great air. Overall, Viper and American Eagle both have hefty doses of air.
  19. We have 20 people from Belgium here!? Go TPR! We have worldwide affection.
  20. The Mondial "High Speed Jeep" Thingy seems like a definite possibility for IoA in the Jurassic Park section- that land is dying for a new attraction, and the "JP Jeep" idea seems like a possibility, and with this product, it could become a reality.
  21. Iron Dragon wasn't that bad of a ride- I found it pretty fun. While it may not be the most exciting or intense ride out there, it's just fun. The finale is pretty good, and you swing quite a bit in the last car during the final portions of the ride, after the second lift.
  22. This is exactly why I don't want Cedar Fair to get some of the Six Flags Parks. You know what would happen at Great America? First thing, Whizzer is going to yanked. Themes would deminish. All of the parts of the park from the old days? Gone. At least Six Flags has some form of a heart.
  23. Great ride! But don't be fooled- the rest of the ride also has some pretty good pops of ejector air too. While small, it is mighty. The "OMG" drop is totally amazing- there is nothing else like it.
  24. There are quite a few that I enjoy: Chance Falling Star, Schwarzkopf Enterprise, Huss Top Spin, Huss Frisbee, Huss Trioka, Chance Swing-Around, and at Adventureland, there is a mini version of the suspended frisbees, which is amazing.
  25. Wow... it looks great! It looks like 2006 will be a good year for additions, unlike the crappy "Tornado" year of 2005.
