  1. Sigh... it seems like Great America has gotten worse this year! Whirligig didn't look like it was open, American Eagle didn't open with the park (and has recently been running only one side... boo, hiss!), AE only is forwards now, Triple Play's center is down in SFOT for this season, they crappified their IMAX theatre up, and... ugh. It's just bad.
  2. No matter what, the ride will not flip more or less with people sitting in different areas... the program will be exactly the same. If it did change, then the operator must have changed the program. I've only been on one so far, King Chaos at SFGAm. I really enjoyed it. It had a pretty good program- it held you upside down for about 10-15 seconds (while still moving) then flipped you upside down about five times in a row. The rest of the ride was pretty slow though, but it was worth riding just because of the five flips in a row- really intense and fun. The only bad thing about the top spins are the ball-crushing thing that pushes the harness down tighter... and tighter.
  3. Ooh... golden fastpass. Sounds nice. What a great idea on Disney's part. They'll get great publicity from this, and it's a really nice thing to do for the guests.
  4. For those of you saying that USF Mummy has a sudden stop, it was designed to be that fast (at the portion where the track stops) because it is supposed to simulate running into a wall... Although I could agree that the midcourse is a pretty sharp stop. For me, some of them are: Raging Bull, Viper, and Whizzer.
  5. Hmm... I wonder if the new Big Brother is on there again. That show is on one of the channels (I forgot its name) about 24/7. Last year, when we went to the UK, it was on about every single time we turned on the TV. There were these two gay guys on the show and one was a total drama queen and tried to get "his love" (aka the other gay guy in the house.) To fall in love with him. And he cried... ugh. It was totally funny, yet totally dumb. Anyone who saw it last summer knows. Whenever we were on the bus, we'd talk about that stupid show, just because it was so terrible. Anyway, remember that TV isn't censored very much after 8PM (or something like that!) Fun for the whole family! You'll see things you'd never see on regular channels in the US.
  6. Nice reference to Weird Al... Anyway, great TR.
  7. I like how they all put their heads down for the drop... exactly what they tell you not to do in line. It's almost like they're doing the airline "brace position." Yay! The T-Rex! (Large amounts of applause.)
  8. I'm pleased that it's a flywheel launch. None of these non-reliable launch systems that break down for extended amounts of time (such as hydraulic.) Looks like a fun, twisty ride. In addition, it looks more comfortable than the Vekoma Booster Bike.
  9. No American Eagle backwards? That's so depressing. First of all, backwards was fun. Secondly, the red side is far better than the blue side, with considerably more airtime.
  10. ^Well, it's good you said that. Because you never drink, never ever. Especially because you would never be able to see a beer bottle in your avatar.
  11. Is the ACE ice cream carrot ice cream! Ewwwww... No wonder no one has touched that one ice cream. Anyway, I want to try paella sometime, but, being stuck here in Iowa won't get me any. Hopefully I'll go to Spain after high school... I'll have five years of Spanish by then. What's funny is that we had a chapter in our Spanish books called ¿Cómo se hace la paella?- How does one make paella. It never actually told you a recipie for it.
  12. Looks like the movie is back online! This is probably the funniest theme park-specific film ever. (You and Your Studio wasn't aimed directly at the parks... it was the entire UCS company.)
  13. ^^ Steel, I am sure that Sidewinder was by Moser. It was the first one of their frisbees sold. And, if I'm not mistaken, the one at Knobels has the exact same theme. Also, Splash Over was made by Moser. They make really good replicas of Huss rides (Sidewinder is great, hopefully Splash Over will be also.) Anyway, great TR. I'm heading to Mt. Olympus next Sunday, and Adventureland the Friday and Saturday after that.
  14. Some of the high capacity rides at Universal Studios would be stressful. Because, if you don't dispatch in time on rides like Mummy/Men In Black/ET Adventure, everything backs up, and gets stuck at various points along the course. And, you have to work your butt off to get back to normal operation without stacking more than one train. This is also vaild for Space Moutain, Dudley, or any of those rides. In addition, I think that "spieling" could be stressful at first (on rides such as Jaws at USF or doing long preshows by yourself (Shrek 4D.) However, after a week or two, when you're comfortable with the script, it becomes far easier and enjoyable.
  15. I truly hope you have a good time at Adventureland. It's a very underrated park. It has a great atmosphere, great employees, and fun rides. Prices are also very fair, in theme park terms. Enjoy both the Tornado and Outlaw in the front seats... they are truly front seat rides, although both have great first drop ejector air in the back. You get considerably more air in the front of the Tornado and ejector "lateral" air on the hill after the first drop on the Outlaw. That alone is worth it. Don't miss: The Falling Star- one of the only to be run as they should. G-Force- one of the few Huss Breakdances in the US The Log Ride- a log ride that features rapids, also! Sky Ride- Great charilift ride- open air, and you are surrounded by trees at points. Very nice and relaxing. Have fun! (Adventureland is my home park, along with Six Flags Great America)
  16. The Gulf "Creamer" looks fun... I mean, who doesn't want to ride a Gulf Creamer? Nice update; funny as hell.
  17. ^^ I think I know the solution to your problem... go to a gay nightclub. I'm sure guys would buy you drinks there... That's a way teen guys can get alcohol. (If you couldn't tell, I was kidding.)
  18. Looks like user who submitted it changed it to private mode! I'm really sorry...
  19. Damn, I need to get to a ghetto park soon! Great TR.
  20. While this could go into the Random forum, I thought that it was relevant enough to go into the Theme Park forum. Anyway, I found this while browsing YouTube. It was created after Jaws was shut down for it's "off-season" in which many thought that Jaws would close... forever. But, it didn't. The video has edited (parody) versions of songs from the following musicals: Chicago Annie Rent Grease And a few others. It's a great laugh, and quite professional! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pUWj3w9Pm4&search=jaws%20musical
  21. I like the "It's WI law" scribbled with Sharpie onto the Cyclops sign. Nice. Anyway, Opa! looks pretty good, and it has the new funky lap bars from Zamperla. How was Hades/the new stuff? I'm going in two weeks, and am very excited. Cyclops' drop= x 1000 Nice TR!
  22. ^ Good. And that's the way it should be. Loose articles+Roller Coasters= Accident waiting to happen.
  23. Great TR! The horse ride looks really random and LOL @ "coaster splooge." Anyway, I've always wanted to go to Spain, especially now that I have two (soon to be three) years of Spanish under my belt. Looks to be a very nice, beautiful country. Julie, have you tried paella? It's one of the strangest Spanish dishes, and one of the most common.
  24. It was a pretty good waterpark... I liked the body slides through the caves- most of them were nice, long, and quite fun. Everglides was insane, as was the Caribbean Corkscrew. My favorite, however, was the bizarre Key West Rapids. I've never seen a ride like that before. It must be costly to support/fill all the pools above ground level.
  25. Elissa, will you change mine to: ¡Vamos a Seis Banderas!
