  1. ^ Yeah, but if you have their (SWA) cheapest ticket, you still have to pay the change fee.
  2. I just sent him 95. They're written in Spanish and they say how handsome and pretty he is, and that the ladies want to do him. Probably one of the scarier things, because I assumed the identity of his "amor enterno"- eternal love.
  3. ^ You saw how Nagin managed during Katrina. There was no management. He was horrible! There was no good disaster plan and no one to run the pumps in the city. He's not a good guy for a mayor (he's pretty dumb!) I wish that he wouldn't have been re-elected. Anyway, as Six Flags said, the park isn't (and never will be, especially now) be profitable. It was the epitome of the Six Flags experience. Rides closed, rude staff, etc. It was a fun day, but there was something that was missing that made you to not want to return. It's called atmosphere. Kyle, who's just happy he got the credits, and won't shed a tear if SFNO closes.
  4. From everywhere I have gone, AED's are only to be used by those who have been trained on it. Otherwise, it is simply too risky.
  5. I actually got the decapitated ET at Universal Studios Florida. It was only like $10, so I had to get it. It's a great hat- everyone looks really weird in it. And it actually is pretty disturbing. LOL...
  6. Marketing. Medusa has nothing to do with cars. Nitro, however, does. I wouldn't be suprised if the other coasters being sponsered would change their names also.
  7. ^ Airtran is strange in that regard. Their prices are either cheap: - Way before the trip - Right before the trip (not during holidays, though). Not in the middle. It's really bizzare how they do that. Whenever you check on a travel site, they are either the cheapest or most expensive. I can usually find cheaper fares on Northwest though. They have really cheap fares anymore. I have to admit, I'm glad that Airtran is at our airport. Even though I don't like flying them, they drive down the fares a ton at Moline (our airport). Compare our fares and Des Moines'. Ours are always cheaper, unless you get a special. While we don't have all the routes or the number of people Des Moines has, and almost all our planes are regionals, our airport is nicer and cheaper.
  8. ^ Exactly. It is so dissapointing to see what was once a great eatery to turn into just a boring, normal, over-priced place. Yes, they still have some good dishes, but many of the things they have are pretty normal, but with some foo-foo added in (like their pizza and cheeseburger). The customer service was also pretty bad. I thought that the waiters were fine, but the fact that they only filled half of the restaurant when there is an hour wait.
  9. Introducing Derek's Beer Tapper! Play as Derek in this frenzied, fast-paced game! Serve beer as fast as possible to crazed TPR members (including PhishyBrewer) while making sure you drink enough beer yourself! Derek's Beer Tapper
  10. I agree with Elissa. It used to be sooooo good, but now it's just blah. Nothing special about it anymore- it has a really tiny menu, and all the great dishes are gone. I don't go there anymore.
  11. I had to do this, even though I wasn't on the trip. You've started a TPR tradition! Happy Birthday! With my awesome ET hat. The Universal Characters say "Dude!"- Thing 1, Thing 2, Gingy, and ET
  12. I hate Airtran. Usually the fares aren't lower than normal carriers, their delays suck, as do their seats and in-flight service. Anyway, I'm a United guy. They're probably my favorite so far, but Northwest is also pretty good. (But I really miss TWA! They were the best, and American sucks.) However, in three weeks, I'm flying on Cathay Pacific to China. I've been told that it's the best airline in the world (it has won many awards), so I'll have to see how it is.
  13. Hmm... at least it looks cool. (Kind of like the beta version of the new Windows Media Player), but it doesn't match the new version of IE. Kind of weird. I'm sure it will get better. I actually like Windows XP, so I'll probably like the new one.
  14. Maurer Shone either needs to improve their X-Car design or go back to designing their awesome (spinning) wild mice. It doesn't look like much fun.
  15. I want to see it because they filmed a lot of it in... IOWA! And the guy that plays Superman was from IOWA! And they had the premiere in IOWA! We get excited when our state is featured in anything, let alone a Hollywood Big-Budget film. LOL...
  16. That's great! Nice pictures and TR. It's really enjoyable to read.
  17. ^ Allow me to explain the IMAX 3D thing. In order to play normal movies in IMAX, reformatting is a must. Otherwise, the picture will be fuzzy and distorted, and the sound would be terrible. It would be like a fuzzy TV channel. IMAX DMR digitally re-masters films for showing on the IMAX, and converts the film from normal 35 mm film (at normal theatres) to 70mm film (for IMAX). They did this for Superman: Returns. But they added in a twist, also. 3D. 3D is a whole different story. Showing 3D requires either two projectors (the most common) with polarized glasses or electronic 3D glasses with one projector. Before, we could only show in 3D what was filmed in 3D. However, IMAX found a way to digitally create 3D without having to film in 3D. This is the first time the technology has been used. It cost over $1 million just to convert 20 minutes of normal film into 3D. However, these 20 minutes are Superman's flying sequences/main action sequences, the only ones that would interesting in 3D. I'm sure money was an object also. So, Superman Returns has visual cues as to when to put glasses on/take them off. We all find this a little strange, because it would be considerably easier just to run the normal film through both projectors and keep the glasses on the entire time. However, this was not done, hence the necesity to take the glasses on/off. IMAX is truly worth the money if it is available near you. The superb film quality and sound quality should bring you in alone; the icing on the cake is the 3D that you can get. IMAX usually only costs a dollar or two above the normal theatre, so go if possible. It is a far superb experience, and it is the best way to see films anymore.
  18. Overall: Schwarzkopf Currently making rides: Premier
  19. ^^ The number of calls vs. the riders that have been on it makes that number seem incredibly small. Mission: Space soft opened in August 10, 2003, and has been operating ever since, other than the two death investigation days. I did some math, and here's what I came up with. This assumes that Mission: Space has 10,000 riders per day and has been open 1050 days. For every 1,050,000 riders, about 14.55 need paramedics/emergency room. When you look at it in perspective, that is not very many. The article just makes it sound that way.
  20. Sounds like the XP blue screen of death. I just had my desktop fixed because of that. It would boot up, but anytime you tried playing a game or DVD (or even view mildly large photos), the blue screen of death would appear. It turned out to be a motherboard/graphics card problem. It can be any number of things. Take your computer in to professionals.
  21. Whoever wants to see Superman Returns: See it in IMAX 3D, if possible. Or even non-3D IMAX or Omnimax/IMAX Dome. The quality of the experience is far worth the $2 extra or so it usually costs to see in IMAX. Crystal-clear picture and amazing sound. It is the first 2D movie to be converted into 3D, so only twenty minutes of it are in 3D. However, these are all the flying scenes and a few others, so it should be worth it. Apparently, it cost over $1 million to convert 20 minutes. Just a recommendtion! Anyway, I have seen a few movies recently. Poseidon: 8/10. I was truly suprised how good this film was. It was a very intense disaster movie, and not laughable (a good thing). Good score. However, the characters should have been developed more. The Omen: 6/10. They were striving for the right thing, but they didn't get it exactly right. It always seemed a little off. However, the performance by the Nanny is downright scary, and worth it just to see her. The Da Vinci Code: 9/10. I read the book prior to seeing the movie, and I was suprised at how well the filmmakers stayed to what the book had in it. They changed very few things. Kudos. Nacho Libre: 6/10. A tad dissapointing. Nothing real bad about it, but it just didn't work for me.
  22. ^^ I thought exactly the same thing. LOL. Those encloesed green body slides look pretty darn good. Looks like a nice park! Great TR, nice photos!
  23. ^^ It's more of a dark ride than anything. It's gravity powered, therefore a credit, but very slow with very few drops. CCI built it. It has show scenes and a bizarre plot, but it's pretty good theming for a park that never does theming on rides. (More than cardboard cutouts).
