  1. Just letting you know... the American Eagle rocks. The red side in the front means one of the best wooden coaster rides, ever. And, with Great America running it how it should (with minimal trims), the positive G's in the helix are great. And it's really smooth in the front, and has tons of airtime.
  2. Those globes are so damn ugly... They totally ruin the great-looking view across the lake.
  3. Well, the amount of stress that is put on a ride that goes 120 mph+ is enormous. The smaller rockets are obviously going to work better as less stress=less maintainence/downtime. Though, of course, some blame would have to be put on the parks. I feel the rocket coaster system is only good for smaller rides at this point, until the technology becomes more reliable.
  4. I love EPCOT... so much. Too bad I didn't get to ride Soarin', though, because it had just opened and had a gigantic wait. Nice TR!
  5. ^ At least Kraken is a good ride, though. Who wouldn't want Kraken to be whored out? The EE guy is creepy... I can't believe he has a family!
  6. At 8:30 PM ET/PT on Sunday, September 17, 2006, The Amazing Race will have the season premiere of its tenth season. And, from the looks of it, it will be a good season. Just wanted to make sure everyone knew about this. The Amazing Race just won an Emmy for the ninth season, making a total of four Emmys for this show. More information (including the teams and a preview) can be found at the official website here: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race10/
  7. Damn, That's a really good deal. Disney, though they usually don't take many hits, may actually take a hit from this... that is a darn good deal.
  8. I would seriously die on that rapids ride... too many waterfalls for me. I don't like to get off rides like a drowned rat, unless there is a reason to (ex: Popeye's and Dudley's) But, I do like to go on water rides that just get you "wet", not "drenched." (I like Log Flumes a lot). Nice TR.
  9. ^ I like it also. Also, I really like the "new" Pepsi One. Very close to regular Pepsi. (I like both equally well).
  10. Aww... even though my dog can't swim (he's a pug), he loves to go in the water where he can just walk. And, he likes drinking the chlorinated water (I know, WTF!) He would've loved that.
  11. ^^ Pterandon Flyers has a god-awful capacity. This, along with its popularity among children and families probably made it the longest wait in the park. Dueling Dragons looks really good now. And, I love Spaceship Earth, so it should be a credit. It has a hill... and a steep one at that. Really steep, actually, and it's backwards. But the warnings truly ruin that climatic ending to the ride.
  12. ^^ Ooh... abstract art. Seriously though, tell us what it is! Or, take a sharper picture/scan the image in.
  13. I like processed peaches more than regular peaches also. Actually I really don't even like 'real' peaches, but I love processed ones. And, yeah, Poupon is the best word ever. Nice TR.
  14. I am sure there were warning signs telling you to keep your head back. Every single roller coaster that I've been on (with headrests) tells you to keep your head back. Almost every single theme park in the world has a "ride at own risk" policy either by the state, country, or park itself. Perhaps looking into this policy for the UK could assist you. The problem seems relatively minor-- like a neck pain after sleeping wrong. Tylenol or Motrin should be able to solve the problem, and try to move your neck as best as possible, as it is probably a muscle that is messed up.
  15. Nice TR. I want to go to Knott's just to get on Montzooma's. Silver Bullet doesn't look that bad- far from forceless, but I guess it's a matter of opinion, and I haven't ridden it yet. It would be totally awesome to have those ops following you.
  16. ^ Of course. As with any business, you'll have situations similar to those on "Airline." In fact, we had an intoxicated passenger on my NW flight from MSP-SFO. I was sitting right across the aisle from her. She passed out on both passengers next to her. They rang the call button, and the lead flight attendant told her to leave or they would have to call the police. The woman, of course, used the "gimme a breathalizer" argument, but in the end, she angrily left on her own. I was suprised at how professional the crew was in comparison to similar incidents shown on "Airline." The gate agent didn't just march down onto the plane and basically grab the passenger. In fact, the gate agent never made an appearance on ours, because the gate agent had nothing to do with it. The flight attendants handeled it in an extremely professional manner, and not a huge scene was created, unlike on Southwest.
  17. ^^ I'm sure if you really wanted that you could get it embroidered for not much money.
  18. I'm also extremely frugal. Outside of necesities (gas, food, etc.) I hardly spend any money. That's what allows me to get really nice things when I do get things, or go on fun trips. It's just a matter of what and how you spend.
  19. It's too bad that the Airbus A320 is about 100x more comfortable than the 737. The 737 is cramped, dated, and not really a great experience. The A320 has quite a bit more room, and has better amentities.
  20. Did you ride Scat II? Anyway, nice TR. And for the record, Pepsi is better than Coke, but Cherry Coke owns all.
  21. ^ Elissa hit it. Right now, Southwest is testing assigned seating, and it is virtually confirmed that Southwest will be updating their computer system to allow for assigned seating and international flights. NWA seems to have the cheapest fares (from what I've seen) currently, across the board. Everytime I compare prices from airline to airline, I find Northwest is the cheapest by a significant margin. It's quite interesting. I enjoy NWA- they're pretty good. The service leaves something to be desired, but I absolutely love their hubs. Minneapolis, Detroit, and Memphis are all very passenger-friendly and face minimal delays, compared with other major hubs. Delta just announced that they're upgrading their service to our airport from CRJ (ugh...) to ERJ-170 (yay!) The ERJ-170 is the best regional jet in the sky, and perhaps one of the most comfortable across the board, even more comfortable than widebodies. So, I'll probably start flying on them some more... Also, I enjoy flying United. It's just their hub (O'Hare) truly is a hell-hole.
  22. FP does need to go. Even though I hate the idea of it, it's necessary for me to use it just to avoid the terribly long stand-by lines. If FP was eliminated, it would make the stand-by lines much, much shorter, making everyone happier. Anyway, nice review! I really enjoyed reading it.
