  1. I'm trying to think of a hilarious response to that video, but I'm speechless. That looks amazing! I'll be up there June 10th to ride it. Can't wait
  2. I've seen Ovo, La Nouba, and Saltimbanco. While all of them were great, Ovo is my favorite.
  3. ...took a biscuit out of his coat pocket! Tom Jones always keeps a handy supply of biscuits in his coat pocket just in case...
  4. In order for the ride to be successful, it would probably need to spin a little slower. Very interesting concept, though.
  5. Hey guys! I just got back from seeing Cirque du Soleil's Ovo in Frisco, TX, and it just hit me that TPR doesn't have a thread for discussing these amazing shows. So, here ya go! Use this thread to ask questions about the shows, review them, etc. Well, I guess I'll get us started. I have seen three Cirque du Soleil shows: La Nouba (WDW), Saltimbanco, & Ovo. La Nouba: Every aspect of this show is great. The music, acrobatics, choreography, costumes, and lights were all some of the best I've seen. I don't remember much about this show, but I do remember the giant "see-saw". An acrobat would get on each side and when one acrobat jumped, the other would soar into the air! My second favorite show. Saltimbanco: While I liked Saltimbanco, it struck me as a play more than it did a regular Cirque du Soleil show. That wasn't a bad thing, though. The acrobatics done in the show were perfect - I don't remember one error. Like all of the shows, the music was live and sounded very mysterious. I'd say this comes as my third favorite show. I just wish there was more dance/acrobatics. Ovo: My favorite show! The main story was based around insects: an insect finds an egg and wonders what to do with it. Sounds fun, right? While the plot is very simple, this show is amazing. There were quite a few dance numbers, each of which had some of the best choreography I've ever seen. TONS of acrobatics - everything from a metamorphasis 3 stories off the ground to riding a unicycle on a high wire, pedaling with your hands! However, I'd have to say my favorite part of Ovo was the music. I LOVED IT! The tone would sometimes sound relaxed and at other times sound like something out of an action movie - with a Cirque du Soleil twist, of course Go see this. Now. Overall, I think Cirque du Soleil is WELL worth the ticket price. Don't even think of it as a circus. I can't even begin to try and fit this into a genre. MOD EDIT: We have a search function on TPR, it's not difficult to use and took me 15 seconds to find a Crique du Soliel thread and merge your thread with it. Albeit old, a Cirque thread exists. Embrace the search function.
  6. Wow, I didn't even know Turbine was SBNO! I'll have to go with plan A. Shuttle loops are becoming rarer and rarer, and I'd hate to see another one get scrapped.
  7. In my opinion, the first Cars wasn't really that great. I agree, there are other Pixar films much worthier of a sequel.
  8. Just got it verified that I'm going to see Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, and Anything Goes on Broadway. What does everyone think about these musicals?
  9. ...his mother used to gorge his siblings' eyes out with the peels. Instead, monkey slave ate...
  10. It's good to hear Barnstormer is staying. It sure is a shame Snow White's Scary Adventures is going, I actually liked that ride.
  11. Eh, it's not that big of a deal. At least those stupid kids can't stand up on the drop anymore
  12. In and Out Burger? Full train on Texas Giant? I'm about to have a happiness overload!
  13. That's hilarious! Thanks for sharing.
  14. You get some Bean-O. *Inserts a 20 dollar bill*
  15. Tower of Terror has always struck me as strange. Well, it is strange! The tower is from an actual gold mine, the drop is tilted... it's just weird. How's the ride itself?
  16. I recently had a dream about SFOT. The first thing that happened was the New Texas Giant opened earlier than the scheduled date (imagine that ). I was going to be on the second train. I was watching the first riders on the coaster and, all, of a sudden, the train derailed! The park was much smaller, Mini Mine Train was a dark ride that took you through a... nursing home? Yes, you read that right - a nursing home. Probably one of the weirdest dreams I've ever had.
  17. ^I completely agree. But the GP usually judges by the quantity, not the quality.
  18. This is awesome! I'm ordering one when I get home. Great job on this one!
  19. You might be on to something here. Many people want to go to Cedar Point simply because they heard it was the coaster capital of the world. If SFMM reclaims that title, I'd think attendance would rise quite a bit and drop or stay the same at Cedar Point. I know people who haven't seen ONE coaster at CP, but still tell me they want to go because it has the most coasters! And, as we all know, there's no telling what CF could do next
  20. As a few have said, Valleyfair or Michigan's Adventure would both be great choices of where to relocate Invertigo. As for CGA, I can't really see anything new coming in. According to a vast majority of posts, CGA has lost its charm. While a new coaster would bring back some charm, I can't see the new coaster being anything large enough to draw a major crowd.
  21. Wow, some of those are very well themed! There are so many of them... which brings me to my apocalypse theory. In December 2012, all the wacky worm trains will come to life and consume all of the human race! They will then proceed to conquer the world and make the children in "It's A Small World" their loveslaves! That is all.
