Holiday Park Discussion Thread
Belgiumcoasterfreak replied to devol4's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That isn't so unrealistic. Steve (CEO) says it is going to be a ride that is recently build in the US and it's more common their than other places on earth. It's something very unique in Europe and back in 2011 they said they will build a new coaster right after the new Maja-land (which is completed this year). The new ride was going to be something thrilling and made for the teenagers of the family-group and Steve said it will fit perfectly next to EGF as size of coaster. My guesses: next year a RMC wooden coaster for 2014 with some inversions (2 ore 3 inversions most likely). Possible with the steepest drop in Europe to and the station building near ore at the location of Super Wirbel (the old Vekoma corkscrew). The forest behind Super Wirbel is property of Holiday Park and would fit perfectly for a RMC woodie. Why do I think at that location? Super Wirbel has a lot of problems throughout the years and in 2011, they confirmed that Super Wirbel isn't going to stay in the park much longer. It's at that moment, when they talked about the future demolition of SW, they talked about a very good replacement right after it's gone. What do you guys think? -
On Ride Photos
Belgiumcoasterfreak replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not very long ago, I decided that I want to collect onride photos. First I was against those things because of the high price for one single photo. But I found out you can get some pretty fun deals like 5 photos for 20 pounds in the UK, and overall not all the onride photo's are that expensive. Here is my collection so far. The next rides I want a photo of is Chiapas in Phantasialand (when it opens), The Smiler in October and one in Blackpool (maybe also one of Psyké Underground in Walibi Belgium, but I'm not sure if they installed a camera in the ride, I think not...) Enjoy : The Swarm - Thorpe Park (UK)- April 2013 Stealth - Thorpe Park (UK)- April 2013 Mammut - Tripsdrill (Germany)- April 2013 G'sengte Sau - Tripsdrill (Germany)- April 2013 (picture was very small to scan it in) Wodan - Europapark (Germany)- April 2013 :almost all six friends in one pic, sadly not for Jim (bottom left) Superman - Parque Warner Madrid (Spain)- September 2012 (by this time, I didn't bought many pictures... Sadly because I have ridden Goliath at Walibi World and Expedition Geforce by this time ) Oblivion - Alton Towers (UK)- November 2011 Shock - Rainbow Magicland (Italy)- August 2011 (Everybody in photo-position, just awesome! I'm the one front seat, at the left side (grey t-shirt) Katun (best B&M ever) - Mirabilandia (Italy)- August 2011: after ridden it a coplle of times (14 times) you can become a little mad, espacially at 10 PM Timber Drop - Fraispertuis City (France) - August 2011 (my first S&S before the one in Gardaland) Ending up with the best theme park in Europe: Silver Star - Europapark (Germany) - August 2011 (front seat madness) If I have a new one, I will post them here ! -

Holiday Park Discussion Thread

More news about Holiday Park and Air Force two: The deal to buy the plane is cancelled. They don't wanna sell the plane to people who don't live in the USA and they don't want to ship the plane to a foreign possible buyers... About the coaster/new attraction: A Intamin inverted launch could sound nice... But I think it will be more of a family ride then a real thrill-ride... -
I play most of the time fps like BF3 ore BF BC2. I'm not a CoD fanboy. The only thing I liked about the CoD games was the Zombie-games and the Co-op mode. The multiplayer isn't something I loved, mostly because of all the campers and the very small maps... I often play RCT2 (of course) and I'm a frequent Command and Conquer 3 player. C&C games are the most fun games of al (played mostly all of them: c&c, c&c Red Alert (also 2 and 3), c&c tiberian sun, c&c Renegade, Generals,...)

Photo TR: TPR's Italy/Europe Trip
Belgiumcoasterfreak replied to XII's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great you guys loved Fort Fun! The park itself is charming, but the most interesting part of it all is their Season Pas. For 48 euros you can visit all the CDA parks (all the Walibi's, Asterix Parc, some random French parcs) once for free, that's the best deal here in Europe I think! By the way, sadly enough, the Magnum and Pirate ship are gone for the 2013 season. It's replaced by a Top Spin . Thanks for your trip reports, fun to read! -

Hanno's picture of the day
Belgiumcoasterfreak replied to Hhappy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Love your pictures Hanno! The small indoor section of Mammut is amazing, but the ride itself is pretty tame. Although, I prefer frontseat in this ride, gives you the biggest feeling of 'speedyness' Btw: Love the Blue Fire, remains one of Europa Parks greathest rides and is one of the biggest reasons why I revisit the park every year! (of course, there are also a lot more reasons why you have to go to Europa Park à -
S&S or Intamin
Belgiumcoasterfreak replied to coastercrazy216's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There is only one of this things in Europe (god I love Movieland Studios in Italy!), and it's just amazing! Superb airtime and really intense! I really don't know why this types of free-falls are vanishing of the planet... Such good rides must last forever. My list: 1. Intamin first gen drop towers 2. Fabri drop tower with 'turbo-drop' (launch you downwards at the top of the ride for more airtime like Detonator in Thorpe Park) 2. Modern Itamin drop towers 3. S&S drop tower program (so no launch) 4. S&S shot&drop program The only thing that's good about the shot&drop is the launch, that's it. And even when they are high above (like the one in Parque Warner Madrid who's 100 meters high) they are still lame in my opinion... -
As a European that never visited the US, here is my list: 1. Katun : Forcefull as hell and a beautiful layout and theming 2. Batman Clones (Ridden Batman in Parque Warner Madrid): Intense and good theming 3. Nemesis / Monster : Also a lot of force, Nemesis better setting, Monster better force in my opinion. That's why they share the third place. 4. Stunt Fall (GIB) : Really intense, but a bit bumpy. 5. Black Mamba: Theming is outstanding, but the ride isn't that forceful 6. Nemesis Inferno: while I enjoyed the ride, the lack of theming and lack of force made him here. 7. Oz'Iris: Theming is great, layout looks great, ride was to damn forceless. I still don't understand why this ride was so lame... 8. All the SLC's. I think Vampire in Walibi Belgium is one of the 'better' SLC you can find, El Condor the worst.

Finally, the park is learning from it's mistakes! After several years of bad maintenance, Walibi is finally growing up through it's old problems. All the rides have a new coat of paint, all the old effects are up and running again, the operations are much much better then a few years ago (all the rollercoasters ride on full capacity, 2 trains each ride; Dalton all coaches,...) Some water effects working again on the track of Calamity Mine, that was about time! The best element on Radja River works again, the water ceiling! The most soaking element on this Rapid is back finally! Also other changes like this for instance: Covering the queue line of Loup - Garou against rain and the hot blazing sun in the summer They are still working on the renovation of Turbi... eeh.. Psyké Underground : Great thanks to Bobby Turbo from pretparken.be, WalibiBand.be and pretparkkriebels.be!

Thorpe Park Discussion Thread

I really loved Abismo in the summer of 2012, but i really hope Thorpe Park goes for yet again a B&M coaster. This type of attractions have really no capacity at all... -

Holiday Park Discussion Thread
Belgiumcoasterfreak replied to devol4's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Haha this isn't German, but Dutch (Flemish), just so you know . This is Steve van den Kerkhof, CEO of the Plopsa-parks (video is from the new refurbished theme zone of Plopsaland de Panne). You translated it correctly. They are planning to build a new ride for 2014 in Holiday Park and it's something you already find in the US and it's unique in Europe. I wonder what it will be... Could Air Force Two be a link to the new ride? Sounds pretty interesting... -
Holiday Park Discussion Thread
Belgiumcoasterfreak replied to devol4's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hmm, Really don't know. Where did you get your information by the way? A few days ago, Plopsa told the press they where interested in buying the, currently 'for sale', Air Force Two of the president of the United States. The plane is for sale since it can't be used for flying anymore. Plopsa referred that they want to buy the plane and set it up in Holiday Park to honor all the US guests and the US military who has a European base not far away from the park. It will be a part of theming in the park for a ride, which ride we don't know. I think it's just a promotional stunt of the group and maybe it's a referring to the new ride of 2014. Something to do with flying and airplanes... A flying coaster maybe? From B&M ore Vekoma? (not so many in Europe like in the US)... I don't know. What do you guys think? -
Aaah, Alton Towers, one of my favorite parks! Really love that place, sadly it can be really crowded out there. How 'big' where the lines? And why was Rita down, for maintenance ore something else. If i look closely to your picture it looks like a part of the queue is gone, ore am I just seeing that wrong? Alton Towers will get a second visit in October to ride The Smiler, can't wait! Thanks for the report again. The next park Blackpool?

Yes, until the end of may you can go to the guest service and when you show them your ticket of that day, you get one free! Have fun with your group!
