  1. Chance Rides has some very neat ride footage of Lightning Run, check it out! I'm really impressed whit what Ed Hart and his team has accomplished in such a short time. This park is on my bucket list for sure! Can't wait for more updates and new/improved rides for the upcoming years !
  2. Here is a commercial of 2014. At 0:22 they pronounce the name .
  3. Not really news about the new coaster, just a random thing: Today was/is a very busy day for the park. There was a 16 km (I guess 9 miles, almost 10, if I'm correct) long traffic jam, just to enter the parking lot. The park must be pact! - Just curious, but are there American parks that cause far worse traffic jams on busy days?
  4. That would be cool though. Yeah, but very expensive I guess. Another fun coaster fact thanks to Vijfzintuigen.nl: Wodan, the GCI wooden rollercoaster in Europa-Park (Germany), wasn't the original name for the coaster. They planned to name it after 'Thor', but because Marvel has the rights for the name 'Thor' (thanks to the movies, they claimed the name for everything, what is kind of silly because it's a Gods name/Myth) they had to choose another name.
  5. In the time that the European division of Six Flags still existed, Stuntfall, The GIB from Parque Warner Madrid, was normally planned to be build in the formally Six Flags Belgium (now Walibi Belgium). The rides location was on the spot next to the waterpark, Aqualibi (nowadays you can find Cobra over there). But, the neighbours refused the original plans and demanded to cancel it (it would be to noisy, to high, etc.). In substitution for the GIB, Six Flags build the original Boomerang, it was less noisy and high so the neighbours approved it. But then again, today, the whole neighbourhood still complains about everything like the noises the park produces on normal operation days. That's the reason why Psyké Underground, the Shuttle Loop, had to be fully unclosed. Otherwise, it had to be shut down. Yes, the park has some idiots next door (Some of them even demanded to fully enclose the Intamin Freefall 'Dalton Terror' for it's noisiness. Luckily for the park, they don't have to do that... ).
  6. ... If your family keeps asking you to join them on a visit to a park that's new for them, so they have a guide... ... On each family party, there is one member of your family that keeps lauching because you visit themeparks that often.
  7. I don't know if it's officially mention before, but what's the opening date of Falcon's Fury? I know it's delayed for some days/weeks, but is there an official date?
  8. ... You imagine yourself in the future as chief of your favourite local park and you announce a brand spanking new roller-coaster with a mega show (with light effects, fireworks, awesome concept arts...). Since the announcement of Banshee in KI (I really loved that one), I think of this all the time...
  9. Simple question: have you ever seen (in real life or on the internet) an opening ceremony for a ride/themepark that would blow our minds? Please share them! I always love it when a park opens a new ride with a bang! My all time favourite is the opening of Cobra in Connyland, Switserland. A small park that opens a PAX coaster in style! Now it's your turn! Share share share ! Ps: I didn't find any topics that already had this subject. I'm sorry if I missed one...
  10. BREAKING NEWS! The Efteling announced a new signature ride for 2015! They will build a Dive Coaster (builder unknown, but most likely B&M) with a 37,5 meters first drop. The ride will cost 18 million Euro (only the ride itself without theming I guess) and gets it's own storyline and theming (and we all know how great Efteling theming is!). The location and other statistics are still unknown, but this is a big announcement for the region! Source (sorry, it's in dutch): Brabants Dagblad They will invest 36 million Euro in the coaster and more chalets at Bosrijk (400 extra beds). They still want to build the mysterious 'Hartenhof' in 2020. Man, first the big Kolmarden announcement and now this... So exciting!
  11. This Topple Tower was working in 2013 for a little while after a big refurbishment by HUSS, but it was still down most of the time. The new owners of the park choose to remove it and replace it for a new ride in the nearby future instead of leaving it SBNO like the old crappy owners did.
  12. Little update: Some artworks of the theming inside (spoiler): And here some pics from Universal Rocks: Photos thanks to pretparken.be. The ride will have some soft openings for construction workers and press this weekend. 1 April, this baby finally opens up for public!
  13. It just another simulator ride: Thanks to pretparken.be I love the theme but don't know what to think about the ride itself. But I'm curious about the first reviews ...
  14. The ride is done! Can't wait till April to test this thing ! Source: Sky Scream Facebookpage
  15. I've heard they will open it with the season start in April (and I thought they already confirmed this some time ago). The theming of the ride will be ready in summer, but the ride will be open for the guests. Isn't that what I wrote? Ow woeps, sorry my bad! Silly me
  16. I've heard they will open it with the season start in April (and I thought they already confirmed this some time ago). The theming of the ride will be ready in summer, but the ride will be open for the guests. I'm going mid-April. As a European, I'm very excited for my very first Premier coaster!
  17. ^ I thought they asked Mack to do the job because the Intamins model was to expensive.
  18. Not that I've been to many UK parks (Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Blackpool), but there was one ride that gave me some nice props of airtime :Revolution in Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
  19. 1. Walibi Belgium: 28 Km (18 min.) 2. Plopsaland Indoor Hasselt 75 Km (45 min.) 2. Bobbejaanland: 85 Km (57 min.) Plopsaland de Panne, Bellewearde, Efteling and many more are in a two hours range of my hometown.
  20. I think Ireland is getting Europe's first inversion woody (hopefully RMC)! Why: Source: http://www.meathchronicle.ie/news/roundup/articles/2014/01/08/4019012-roller-coaster-plan-for-tayto-park/#sthash.TuCChepI.dpuf
  21. My homepark is Walibi Belgium because it's just a 30 minutes drive from my hometown so... Yes, I know it's not an outstanding park but in 2015 it's getting 40 years old. At least I hope they are going to build something major for that anniversary year because the last 'big' new attraction was Challenge of Tutankhamon in 2003. I heard some rumors that Bobbejaanland, only 45 minutes away from me, is going to build a new attraction in 2015 (they say a new roller coaster) so I think 2015 is going to be an interesting year .
  22. Star Flyers, most evil ride ever. Every time I ride one of those things, I think one of the cables will snap and I'm screwed. Most scary one that I have ridden so far is the one at Plopsaland de Panne. Not because it's the highest of them all, but the fact that the park is right near the Belgian coastline. You have an awesome view up there, but you swing like hell because of the heavy winds. While my little nephew is launching and enjoying the ride, I'm pissing my pants and almost crying .
  23. I really love frisbee-rides, log flumes and Vekoma Boomerangs. But my favorite ride has to be Space Mountain: Mission 2 at Disneyland Paris. The mountain itself is just superb to look at and the whole theme is just plain fun. Love it (ride it at least 4 - 5 times each visit, just for the fun of it). And no, weird enough and don't get the Vekoma bumpiness on this ride
  24. Yep, I think so. Mack sells GCI woodies in Europa and GCI manufactures them. So I thinks it's something like this. Hopefully we can expect a RMC in Europe, would be awesome!
