  1. I wouldn't be mad if they built a new park which was all Nintendo themed.
  2. That first element looks amazing with the train running through it. I really can't wait to see the rest of this ride!
  3. Basically. I still say the Wacky Worm is unbeatable but if it has to be an adult coaster I'll say Farenheit just to annoy the Intamin fanboys. It's just as forceless as any forceless B&M you can name but much like the forceless B&M's I still enjoy it and see no reason to complain about it. Obviously, we all know that there are hundreds or thousands of kiddie coasters which are less forceful than your B&Ms or any other large coaster, so I'll just list a few that left me slightly disappointed. If it wasn't for their pretzel loops, I'd say the S:UF clones. Manta is a little better with maybe one good moment of speed after the first in-line twist, but most of it is slow and a bit of a let down. That being said, the pretzel loops make up for what else these rides lack. Patriot disappointed me. After growing up on the Florida B&Ms (pre-Manta), it just didn't stack up against the others I had ridden. I did re-ride Patriot this summer though and it's definitely better in the front seat, but the back seat rides have nothing on Kumba, Montu or Dragon Challenge. Patriot basically trots through a dandelion field while these others gallop on a mountain. Raging Bull was also disappointing. I wish there was a trim brake smiley, but this one will do: I'll probably be flamed for this, but there are some rides that I haven't ridden but was disappointed about after reading lackluster reviews: Oziris, Cheetah Hunt and Helix come to mind. Oziris was a hope for return to the classic B&M, but it doesn't sound to have made that cut. Cheetah Hunt, while often praised now by many for how fun it is, was not the big, bad Intamin coaster I was hoping for. Helix just looked so awesome, and the test run videos made it look crazy and intense, but the reviews say otherwise. Like Cheetah Hunt, I'm sure it's a great, fun ride, but it doesn't sound like it can compete with Maverick - my all-time favorite. I do hope to ride all of these one day, especially Cheetah Hunt and Helix, but I'm no longer on the "OMG get me there now" bus. Thunder Dolphin would also fit this category, but the setting makes it a coaster which is still on my must ride list.
  4. While Small World is the obvious choice, I'm really not a fan of the song on One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Also, I don't know if it's changed since I was there about 5 years ago, but Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit's queue had some of the dumbest, most annoying videos and songs (maybe it was just videos) in its queue that I've ever endured. While calling out Universal Orlando resort, I've got to say they're home to some of my favorites: Jurassic Park and Harry Potter. Of course, those were original scores for movie soundtracks...so that's not too fair. I'll go ahead and throw in that I don't care much for Disney songs from their cartoons, so Under the Sea (Little Mermaid) is up there. Splash Mountain, while not a Disney cartoon, has some great music though.
  5. I threw up the last time I was at Cedar Point which was about 5 years ago. My friends and I had stayed at Breakers the night before and I got very little sleep. The next morning, I basically chugged a Mountain Dew and ate one or two Pop Tarts for breakfast. We got in to the park an hour early for ERT and entered at the gate near Magnum, and then we ran all the way to Millennium Force. While I was a skinny guy, I was also very out of shape. Though I asked my friends to slow down as I was out of breath by the time we were passing TTD, they just kept on moving. As I was walking up to the ramp to Millennium Force's station, I lost it and puked on the side of the line queue. I got a lot of strange looks from other guests, especially when I boarded the ride just minutes after throwing up. I was a little shaky until about halfway through the ride, but I felt fine afterward. We then went straight to Maverick and I was still fine, but if I hadn't gotten some water after exiting Maverick I am confident I would have puked again. So technically no, I have never gotten sick after a ride.
  6. Did anyone notice how similar the color schemes are between Cobra's Curse and Mako? Sea World Entertainment is just adorable.
  7. The ride will only have 7 cars. Well that's just stupid. If only it meant more intensity... I'm still very excited. Can't wait to see more track going up!
  8. If they removed Dragon Challenge to replace it with something with a level of theming like Taron at Phantasialand, I would be all for it. It's still got to have some intensity though.
  9. I think the single element with the most dropped items has to be pretzel loops on B&M flying coasters. That element has the power to take everything out of your pocket. I personally lost my phone on Superman Ultimate Flight at Six Flag's Great America and during the same lap my brother lost his wallet. Luckily, we both got our items in the mail a couple weeks later. Ever since then I've been sure to put everything in a buttoned or zipped pocket. Vertical lifts would also be killer, but the only one I've been on is Rip, Ride, Rockit and they make you put all loose articles in a locked compartment before entering the line.
  10. How about a drop that is 90 degrees or steeper? The way it is now is just so anti-climactic after the 90 degree lift. I'd probably also make the treble clef element end with a roll and throw in a zero-g roll on the long, straight but kind of curvy section between the second and third break runs.
  11. Those airtime hills are being taken at pretty great speed. I don't think this ride will disappoint at all. Even if the airtime hills end up being drawn out, look at Titan (SFoT) and Goliath (SFMM)...those airtime hills are drawn out and they are awesome.
  12. ^ I thought that the back row was great and I wouldn't think of riding in any other row. It wasn't rough on any of the rides I've had and I actually got airtime on every drop!
  13. Bold claim, considering that 2013 brought Outlaw Run and 2015 brought Fireman's Landing. Elaborate. I'll elaborate for him. Outlaw Run was the first of three major additions planned for SDC, Fireman's Landing was the second, and now we wait for the third. While I'm not sure if 2017 is the year, something big is coming and it's probably not too far away. Quote from this thread on July 4, 2012: Swoosh sure was right about the second installation, and three years prior to its opening at that. Time will tell, but I think 2017 is likely a safe bet.
  14. I'm guessing not Cedar Fair, seeing as they haven't done anything with RMC to date, but maybe Six Flags. However, I would actually guess Herschends would be the first to try it out, probably at SDC.
  15. Wow, I can't wait to hear reviews of this ride. It looks a little short in length but nothing short of incredible in terms of ride experience. If only this was opening at Sea World Orlando under the name of Mako...
  16. I'm not going to waste this post and say something like "Wacky Worm." I have to say Titan at SFOT solely because there is no airtime, and I also must say that Kraken's drop is similarly disappointing.
  17. I visited Great Adventure this summer for the first time, and I was expecting Skull Mountain to be just like SFOT's. Then I got to the station and realized the train was different, and I am so glad I went for the back seat. That drop caught me so off guard...wow. I'm glad I didn't know what to expect! That said, El Toro blew my mind. The airtime throughout easily beats any other coaster I've ridden. Sure NTAG and Outlaw Run, along with most of the RMC coasters, have some intense airtime, but none of it is sustained like on El Toro.
  18. Wow, this looks like a great addition for SFOT...a frisbee? FINALLY!!! I can't wait to try out this Zamperla model.
  19. Very well put. I am from Omaha which is roughly a 3 hour drive from Worlds of Fun, and while almost everyone I know has visited the park, few have visited since before Prowler was built. There's just not much that is new for ages 10 and up. However, I do think that their family area needed improvement just by the looks of it. Also, those I know with families would rather save up for a vacation to Disney than take their kids to Worlds of Fun, and perhaps this addition could draw back that demographic - at least from my soon-to-be-former city. I, for one, am looking forward to moving to Virginia and finally visiting Kings Dominion. Even if I visit this fall, at least I've got a great reason to go back and ride their Giant Frisbee in 2016. Nothing for the gays this year. Worlds of Fun better build something new and build it quickly to compete with Fireman's Landing!
  20. It's probably not likely that they will get a Top Spin since they already have one. A Top Scan would of course be cool, as would an Air Race, a Giant Frisbee or a large Screamin Swing. The park has enough older flats and I'd love to see something modern. Hearing that Cedar Fair was scouring Europe for classic flats, I'm not sure a modern flat ride is in Worlds of Fun's near future.
  21. Seriously, these two are the same people: uncalled for and snarky ass comments out of nowhere, claiming to have inside knowledge, and the username "PhantomPoster32." Maybe I'm just reading way too much into what's going on, but please tell me I am right. Might I add that if I am right then the two back and forth arguments you had with yourself were pure genius.
  22. The way he looked from one side to the other makes me think a coaster is on the way!
  23. I think changing the name would make sense if the coaster was going to be called Flatline or something like that, but Valravn, as noted above, is derived from Danish folklore.
  24. After watching that POV, I really can't wait to see what RMC can do with Roar's layout. I imagine it would be Wicked Cyclone-ish, but you never know!
