  1. I love the ride. I know you have your own inspirations, but to me it's almost like Flashback from SFMM had a party with an El Loco and a Rockin Rollercoaster clone. Seriously though, how is the song not the inspiration?
  2. I really like the first drop on this one. It looks like it could good g's and even give some airtime!
  3. ^I'd be for an RMC in that spot in 5-10 years, granted they build a good steel coaster elsewhere in the meantime. Have any coasters ever done completely re-done with topper track? I don't see topper track as a great option for Timberwolf either way. If RMC did an Iron Horse version of Timberwolf, they could get rid of that crappy mid-course helix, make the ride taller and redo the first drop to be better and get rid of the pre-drop turn. Yet, I still can't see the ride being as great as New Texas Giant, Iron Rattler, or even Six Flags Medusa, so why not tear it down in 5-10 years and build something new?
  4. Probs pushin' it there, buddy. I've ridden Kraken and Sheikra (yeah, I count it), and Sheikra wins. Kraken is great, in my opinion, and looking at other floorless coasters, there aren't many that I think would be much better. I would love to ride Hair Raiser, Superman in Madrid, and Dominator and then give my answer!
  5. Iron Horse for sure..I don't see topper track getting any of the GP excited. With Iron Horse they could do much more, like make it taller, give it some heavily-banked turns and even add inversions - but even then, I really don't think Timberwolf has that great of a layout to want to keep it even in Iron Horse form. I hope they tear it down and build a steel coaster.
  6. It's a 300 ft tall Gerstlauer Wing Rider with a 7 degree drop. No B&M, no Intamin, just Gergie-gerg.
  7. BUT BGT HAS A 200 FT HEiGhT LiMit! Screamscape didn't really list it as a Gwazi replacement rumor, but the time frame listed makes sense. I really think Gwazi was truly great when it opened, but was disappointing when it stopped dueling and then got rough. I was also disappointed with the turnout with the refurb/Millennium Flyer trains, and at this point it does makes sense to me that they would get rid of it (though that pre-lift hill section will always be great). I would rather see them add an Intamin or RMC wooden coaster than maybe any giga coaster, as a wooden coaster still seems unique for any Busch park at the moment. I haven't ridden Leviathan yet, but based on reviews of peoples' opinions which I respect - and if Busch Gardens reps were at Canada's Wonderland doing any sort of surveying - I hope BGT was learning how not to build their own B&M giga coaster. I would really love to see B&M build a kick ass giga coaster, but I'm really hoping that any BGT reps surveying at CW were a little put off by Leviathan and would look to Intamin for something different. If they were there though, I have a feeling that they would have already made up their mind with B&M. Falcon's Fury just sounds like Insanity, and I am so excited. I'm still more surprised at the fact that that this drop tower may reach 300 feet (not to mention the tilting seats) than any rumors of a giga coater at BGT.
  8. This brings Dudley Doo-Right to mind. To begin with, the ride opened later than the rest of the park and it also seems to be closed for at least one month every year for maintenance. I really don't know whether or not they re-profiled the drop, but at least one or two different years the ride was closed for an extended period of more than a month. Then they closed the ride and added restraints, and then I think they re-did those restraints. *Topple tower legacyz* Cedar Point was specifically annoying in the events of ride breakdowns, or even rain, on both of my trips there. The ride ops never even seemed to speculate about the problem openly, nor would they give any estimate on how long the event could last. I feel like most other parks, Six Flags included, handle the situation better by being somewhat open and honest with their guests.
  9. Worlds of Fun really does have great flat rides. Maybe it's Cyclone Sams that pulls it all together, so Thunderhawk leaving may not be a huge loss. I would miss Thunderhawk and, while I don't necessarily believe you, it would be sort of funny because Omegatron[(s?) an almost fair-like, double looping ship) was in the same place and was removed probably 5 years before Thunderhawk took its place. That also shows that if it was removed, it could be some time before anything is put in its place. I would love to see another flat ride at Worlds of Fun, but I personally do not want a Windseeker. You may not see a lot of Giant Frisbees going in to parks these days, but that is still easily on my wish list for the park. As for a new coaster...the lack of rumors or hype makes me doubt anything in that department is happening for next year - but I'll always keep my fingers crossed for just about anything Intamin. *After actually reading the posts on the previous page, I am glad to hear Cyclone Sam's getting some love. Another indoor/themed flat ride like that which could grasp the same level of insanity, like a Booster or Top Scan, would be very welcome.
  10. I believe they have Accelerator(I think that was the name?) still standing at 85 feet at Celebration City which could be used for that fire station idea. That was quite a good and intense drop tower for its height! I don't really care what they add next since Outlaw Run was so great... I went to the park in June just after noon on a Tuesday, and the park was not very crowded at all. We walked on to Wildfire twice and waited a third time for the front seat, and I have to say that it seemed to be a bit smoother than last year which was a nice surprise. I rode Powder Keg 4 times, waiting about 10 minutes each time and twice being in the front seat. I have to say that I tend to forget how great the ride is...but really only the first half is great. It is also one of the very few coasters where I prefer to have the front seat over the back. The airtime/first half is way better in the front! Thunderation was also a walk on, and I didn't have to wait long for many of the other rides. Outlaw Run was soooooo good...mind-blowing, almost as expected. When I rode in the front, I almost lost my shirt. Everything about the ride is just crazy, but the craziest parts were not where expected. There's the "corkscrew turn" in the double down which gives a bit of airtime, but just throws you in to the left side of the train - but somehow not jerky like a normal wooden coaster or even Thunderation. The "twist & turn" curve that goes under the lift hill might be the second most intense part of the ride, and it has great airtime. The barrel rolls are just about as good as any zero-g roll, and leaves every rider laughing and talking about it during the break run. An easy 5 stars for SDC! I will say that I was not a fan of the ankle/shin restrains...what is this, a flying coaster? The only other RMC coaster I've ridden was NTAG, and I don't remember them being there but I understand why they're there. I will also say that I still liked Maverick more than Outlaw Run, but I'll give Outlaw Run number 2 on my list.
  11. I'll bet the seats are more elevated than on the old trains making the clearance level lower. Considering I'm slightly over 6'1", I really don't think I'd be able to ride. On looks, I'd still say there are better giga-coasters right here in America - so I'm not too beat up about that.
  12. To compliment the above irrelevant statement...Dairy Queen commercials, that's what I don't like about Texas.
  13. Believe it or not I had my own car on Test Track one night probably 9 or 10 years ago. In fact, my friend, my brother and I were the only ones in the station, so we each got our own car that round. Other than that, none really come to mind. I've had instances where my group was the only group on a coaster in various different numbers, and as cool as it is to ride completely by yourself, I would prefer a solo group ride to being completely alone.
  14. I don't see a problem with the 48 inch height restriction, but I'd be surprised if they market it as a family coaster. I'm still a little surprised that PowderKeg (also 48 inch height requirement) is marketed as a family launched coaster, but I'd say most kids who actually will actually ride a coaster like this are going to enjoy it. One of my cousins rode Millennium Force when she was five, and while she didn't have much to say about it, you could tell she enjoyed it by looking at her on-ride photo. I'd also say that kids being thrown around on Outlaw Run would be less of a concern than some of the roughness that occurs on Vekoma/Arrow Corkscrew coasters and many older wooden coasters.
  15. I think over the last ten years, I have seen many impressive things from all Disney Resorts. WDW is the only one I have visited, so that is where I've cast my vote. Although I regret never visiting any of their water parks, the fact that I can visit all four parks in one day and ride all the rides I desire at Disney, it is just amazing....the main obstacle was going to Animal Kingdom simply for Everest by 6 PM, but it was always worth it. Based on looks, Disney Sea is just amazing and almost got my vote based on its looks. California Adventure keeps getting more impressive, and I hope that WDW the other Disney Land Resorts will continue to develop to that level.
  16. ^I'll say that ride was a big surprise for me, and definitely worth riding if the wait is 10-15 minutes, and Space Mountain and RnRC are 3rd and 2nd, respectfully...but really I'd have to with ROTM as my favorite dark roller coaster. It was probably my 'most pleasant surprise' on any coaster and, despite the removal of King Kong, was (IMO) a big step forward for the development of Universal Studios Orlando with the park's first major coaster.
  17. It's a shame you didn't get a great ride on Kraken...surprisingly the first drop is one of my least favorite parts of the ride. It always lets me down with no airtime. I like just about everything else about it though...especially that zero-g roll! Journey To Atlantis wouldn't be so bad in the way of wetness if it wasn't for the water cannons. Usually that area is packed with people paying to spray the poor riders, and as a rider I think you are lucky to escape that part of the ride dry. Otherwise, it's actually a great ride!
  18. Agreed. I was thinking about a merge between the two TODAY. One of my big pet peeves with RCT3 was the "Peeps"...I'd rather see something more like what was in RCT and RCT2 in terms of park guests. Still, I'd say customizable rides/coasters with templates is enough for me. I hope it will include test ratings like in the RCT games. I feel like that was an integral part of the game that wouldn't be left out, but I thought I needed to share that idea!
  19. The ops could stand in the same place and check the seat belts as the seated riders roll by...I think the biggest issue here is with loose articles, though. If people still have to walk across a moving train to get to a bin, that could be a problem. Now if they enforce a policy similar to Rock It in which guests must use lockers prior to entering the queue, that would solve many problems. When I rode NTAG in August, they had a running count of lost loose articles and cell phones (maybe just for the year) up in the two thousands. **Wow, I didn't know actual word filters existed I think that would be convenient with any coaster in loading situations. I feel like most B&M coasters have buttons to unlock specific rows. I've seen many times on different B&M coasters in which a rider was too big to fit in the seat they chose, so the restraints in that row were unlocked so the rider could board in a different row the next time. Yet I don't see what was wrong with the loading system when I visited the park, so I don't see the need to implement this procedure.
  20. I haven't ridden many coasters with hang time, but I have ridden a lot of flats with hang time. My first ride on Phoenix at Busch Gardens was when I was seven, and I will say that it was terrifying. I've never been afraid of hang time since then, but then again I haven't experienced mentionable hang time on any coaster. I think the in-line twist on Superman at SFDK looks like it has pretty awesome hang time though!
  21. I think a skycoaster is more worth it if it is not at a traditional park, but at least worth trying once at a Fun Spot or something. I've only ridden one which was 150 ft. tall. On the way up, I figured we were near the top until I looked back and realized we were only halfway. It was a little freaky, but after the free fall it is actually pleasant. Whether or not I ride again really depends on who I am with if I am given the chance. I'm iffy on riding the 300 ft one in Orlando though...seeing that thing up close was probably enough for me. Slingshots are just pure awesome if you ask me.
  22. Maybe it really needed it. I've ridden this ride, and boy does it give some wild airtime near the end in the last seat but it was rough airtime. I'd say the coaster is nothing to rave about, but I'm glad to see that the park is staying open and that their main attraction is still worth keeping after such a long life. I may make a trip back after the work is finished!
  23. I don't know which came first, Kumba or Montu, but I know it took place in the year that Montu opened. You only had to be 52 inches to ride that year, and the next year I remember the height restriction being raised to 54 inches with me being barely tall enough to ride both years. I rode fearlessly.
  24. ^Yes, it would look much different if the picture was taken under the track, but really it's about level with the track and only allows you to see one side of the rails that the train will run on - we're only seeing the edge of the right side of the track.
