Do they have the whole lift tracked at this point? As in all those pesky holes are covered? It looks like they have at least gotten the track leading out of the station and up the lift as far as I could tell covered with a layer of steel now. -

I don't get why it would be a repeat...this rollercoaster was built in a very different fashion, and since RMC has helped construct many awesome, smooth wooden coasters (El Toro, T-Express), I feel that they learned well and that they know what they are doing. Designing their own trains is the only part that worries me. SOB was a very different track...it was also very long (4000 feet longer than Outlaw Run), and had huge, huge helices that looked unbearable...the loop was supposed to be the smoothest part of the coaster! -

I hope you do...I love your pictures, and I'd love to see you get some good rider reactions on Skyrush! -
I'm most excited to see what they're going to do with the drop. Looking at the drop from when the ride first opened, it would be awesome to see the drop extended if it is still possible. Maybe, like NTAG, they will even make the first hill taller so that it could have more speed going through the rest of the ride - but I'm sure new topper track/Iron Horse track would do enough to improve the speed.

Those statues on the boat ride are insane. The drop looks pretty good - so does the pterodactyl! -
Poll: Favorite Inversion?
The Yeti replied to timetrial3141592's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It was a tough decision between zero-g Rolls and pretzel loops, but I decided pretzel loops are my favorite inversions (Manta's, then S:UF). Kumba and Kraken have my top two favorite zero-g rolls! -

Wow, great pictures! That spinning coaster looks pretty good! -
So I may be going to SFoT on this upcoming Sunday or Monday (more likely Monday). If I go Sunday, I'll have to go in the afternoon, and if I go Monday I have to leave in the evening to catch a flight. Any tips on crowds, whether I go early or stay late? I know some colleges in Texas will be starting that Monday, so hopefully crowds won't be too bad.

Favorite roller coaster?
The Yeti replied to Christopoll's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My favorite coaster is Maverick. It changed what I look for in a coaster, which other than taking the number one spot really made me rethink my top 10. The intensity just blew me away, and I loved every second of it. Why don't more rides have Stengel Dives? Of course, I haven't ridden many amazing coasters, mostly just B&M, but big hills and lots of loops don't matter to me anymore - I just like a ride that packs a punch You don't seem to be keeping track of wood coasters separately, but if you do, my favorite woodie is Prowler. -

That's your opinion. Hahahaha. I feel like this will be the best Wing Rider in the world, based on looks I'd say it is without a doubt. Best coaster at CP, it's up there on looks...I'll just have to wait to ride it. The airtime hill is only 105 ft and the drop is 164 ft, that sounds nice...wouldn't be surprised to find it a little trimmed, but it has some big elements that follow. I really do like the layout, the more I look at it. This corkscrew looks huge, probably B&M's largest, and looks like it may give some air! And while that overbanked turnaround element just wants so badly to be a dive loop, I'll still count it as an inversion. I'm no CP fanboy, but if I had to choose from your choices, it'd be Keepsey. -

No, they went with 4-seat trains. Actually, the new RMC trains for Outlaw Run are 2-seat trains -12 cars for 24 passengers - similar to a 12 seat Millennium Flyer train.(according to the press release and rcdb.com). Initially I thought it looked like 6, but in the video it after looking closer it looked like 4...now RCDB is saying two? I agree that renderings can be misleading...I mean, just look at any park map. I hope they're as big as they looked in the video though! -

That's a tough call, I haven't been to SFSL, but I have ridden Mr. Freeze. If you haven't, I'd go to SFSL. The supports on the double barrel roll look sweet, and unlike anything I've ever seen on any coaster. I like that they went with the Intamin style 6-seat trains...makes me have faith that it will give a smooth ride. Did they say anything about the wheels? I know RMC wanted to use steel wheels at some point. -

This looks like a great ride. I think CP needed another B&M coaster, can't wait to see this thing fly! Two zero-g-rolls! How are they on Wingriders by the way, compared to sitdowns and inverts? The dive loop looks pretty sweet, and the first drop would be great being as tall as it is...and that corkscrew is massive. After the mid-course breaks, I'd be surprised if there isn't an inline twist like on X-Flight or Swarm. -
^You quoted it before I could...man, that was funny! However, the reality is not very funny. Reading those accounts of what happened at Knoebels, I am horrified. I had never heard of that happening anywhere, and I'm very surprised. Plenty of women get to ride Summit Plummet, so it must be something to do with the finish - as it did look like a rough finish in the video.

I'm not sure that they would turn this in to a whole themed area. Look at Wildfire and PowderKeg...both are located out of the way of everything else at the end of a path, and so is Outlaw Run as of now. The station really is not far from the Giant Swing, and it doesn't look like they've made a lot of room to build past the station of Outlaw Run - I could at least see them building paths near the double barrel roll, and maybe even the drop as a viewing area - sort of like they've done with PowderKeg and the viewing area for its launch. As far as coaster construction goes...I'm excited to see all of it! The double barrel roll is just one of the many awesome elements of this layout. I'm sure we'll get to see some great pictures come April 9th...and I can only imagine the headchoppers. I feel like the GICT and Double Barrel roll will have headchoppers that would rival X-Flight's in-line twist! I imagine they will build a very nice queue for the ride. Wildfire's queue is just great, and though it's never full when I go, they even had an upstairs area that was very cool and well themed. Powderkeg's queue is so-so, but looking at what we have for Outlaw Run's station so far, I'm sure it will be fancy. Edit: Does anyone else think that RMC has to have tested this already? They can't just be like, "Well, we'll finally get to see if it works!" right? I'm sure building the element on a pre-fab woodie work much better. -

Just saw some pictures on Twitter. They're now working on the double up (which isn't really a traditional double up, as the second half is an overbanked curve), which makes me think everything from the double down to the turn down by the drop is probably tracked at this point. Both the down and up look like they will give some good air, and the ride will surely be hauling through that portion. They're probably close to halfway done with the track! -
