  1. And I missed this track completion by one week? I must say, the theming they were working on the day I was there looked great and it should be great when the ride is done. I too hope the ride ops are moving quickly by the time the ride opens, there is no excuse for the slowness I encountered when I rode Gwazi. Lion was the only side running, and because one ride op was moving slower than any ride op I've ever seen move before, the guy checking seatbelts on the other side had to go just as slow. I thought about complaining - once the ride was over you had to wait about 2 minutes or more for the next train to be dispatched and then to get back in the station. 5-6 minutes per train even with the double seatbelts was awful, and I think these ride ops didn't care much about the guest. I waited about 20 minutes for what should have been a 5 minute wait. Sheikra was a little slow when I went, and the rest of the rides were fine...seriously though, come on BGT.
  2. I haven't ridden Scream, but I would not choose RnRC based on my experiences on other B&M Floorless coasters. RnRC after the sidewinder/cobra roll thingy is a yawn...but I would choose RnRC instead of one of its outdoor clones. To add more to the theming debate, I would choose Dr. Doom's Fearfall over almost any S&S launch tower because of its theming, but would I choose it over at 200 foot or taller Intamin drop tower? I don't think so... As for the new TG, I am so happy for SFoT and even more happy that I'll actually get to ride it in May. This looks so incredible, and I'm glad to hear the ride lives up to its looks. I think a lot of the general public that rides the new TG won't really know what's in store for them by looking at the ride, and man I will love seeing the looks on their faces.
  3. I went there on Thursday and didn't even notice the individual lap bars vs shared lap bars, of course I hadn't been to Sea World in a year...as always, I loved JTA.
  4. Almost every rollercoaster dream I have ends with me not being able to ride the coaster, or there is some kind of crash. I've had this one dream a couple times, where I am actually on TTD and then for some reason my family decides to leave the park and I don't get to ride it (which ironically last time I was at CP I didn't get to ride TTD do to weather and malfunctions keeping the wait time at about 5 hours).
  5. When Buzzsaw Falls was still open at SDC, if you sat near the front or the back of the boat, it pretty much went underwater at some points. That may be an exaggeration, but water really did spill over the sides of the boat...worst of all, that was just as the boat came out of the station, while on the "finale" you barely even got sprayed by water - that is only one of the many reasons I hated Buzzsaw Falls, and I am so glad it has been replaced with Powder Keg.
  6. I leave for Florida on March 4th, so it better be open while I'm there. This is the greatest log flume ever, and I would be so sad to not get to ride it this year.
  7. I'm going to go out on a limb and say I'm the only one who has ridden "The Big Ohhhh!" - Nebraska's only rollercoaster, at Fun Plex in Omaha, or the coaster that is at what was once "Skate Land/Play Daze", but is now "Skate Daze" in Omaha. I know The Big Ohhhh! was relocated from somewhere else, but I don't know if a credit counts if it was ridden in a previous location - either way, I consider it rare.
  8. I just saw a picture of the zero-g-roll on the Flyer and it looks insane. It's basically 1 1/2 zero-g-rolls all at the same time. I found it on Screamscape, and I would post a link, but I don't know the terms of posting pictures or links.
  9. ^ I thought there was going to be a MCBR before the Rhino Rally section.
  10. SDC built a splash battle, and while the theming was impressive, it's not something that really makes me want to return to SDC...and SDC announced they are building yet another "playground" next year...they need to use some of that terrain for a good coaster, and not a Mystery Mine clone either.
  11. Huss Chaos rides. I actually enjoyed them, but they have disappeared from many parks...although we do have on in Omaha, randomly enough.
  12. Maverick! I-305 (though I haven't ridden it, it still looks incredible) The Simpsons finally got a ride (although I wish they had their own land at IOA)! Actually, Universal Studios Florida this past decade has been incredible. Expedition Everest and the Yeti were my favorite additions to Disney World, with Mission Space in a close second. Giant Frisbees and Screamin Swings are awesome. I have yet to ride El Toro, or any Intamin pre-fab, but I am so excited. Also I'd like to add that while Worlds of Fun is my home park, I haven't been there in about 4 years and I was excited to hear a few people put Prowler on this list. I'm surprised that it could be that good, and I am going to have to go to WoF first thing in spring when it opens. Nebraska got it's first rollercoaster in over 10 years back in 2006. There were a few in the early 90's at a small park, but that closed before I had a chance to ride any of those coasters...and I think I may be the only one on this site who has "The Big Oohhhhh" as a credit, at Fun Plex in Omaha
  13. I was riding Zulu (a Huss Enterprise) when I was around 10 and our cage opened during the ride (I was also riding with my older brother's friend who was 13 at the time)...the ride ops noticed it and did an E-stop and we got to ride again. We were near vertical when it happened, and it really didn't pose a huge threat because those things aren't that easy to fall out of, but it was still scary.
  14. I wish the drop out of the figure 8 was going to be as steep as in the incline up to the figure 8...but in reality I wish they had done something else there...even an overbanked turn would have been more eventful, at least at 60 mph.
  15. I really don't like that idea...if you've been to SDC, then you probably noticed how awesome it would be for SDC to put in a terrain coaster, and Ozark Wildcat really couldn't do that. Wildcat wasn't anything spectacular, and SDC could definitely fit something much better in their park. I went to CC three times, and the park was really just a dud in my opinion. The level of theme at the park didn't seem to be anywhere near where they wanted it to be and I felt like I was at a state fair with a pretty good wooden coaster on the side. The rides were still fun, but the whole idea of being open at night and wanting families to come after a full day at SDC just wasn't a good plan.
  16. Expedition Everest MOFOs!!! I also liked Borg: Assimilator or whatever it's called now.
  17. While I was at Cowboy's Stadium for the Big XII Championship last weekend, I got to see this ride in person from a bit of a distance, but it still looked very impressive. We drove right past the park, and the pictures are very accurate as to how crazy this ride looks. I was so excited, and just seeing the TG made me want to go to the park but I'd rather wait until next year when TG reopens...which reminds me, my brother graduates from Baylor in May so I will definitely be riding this beast then - I can't wait!
  18. So the third LSM launch is only going to be 40 mph? That's kind of disappointing...
  19. I think seeing the whole coaster in one video really puts the whole ride into perspective, and - despite the slow part in the old RR section (more of a let down than a dislike) - I think I am going to like it a lot. The various airtime hills throughout should make up for any slow parts. I'm extremely excited to have an Intamin coaster of this caliber in Florida (says the guy in Nebraska...but I do go almost yearly)...and yeah, it would be cooler if the ride's name was Cheetakah or something of the mythical/legendary-type names that Busch has used in the past. I don't get what is wrong with OTSRs on Intamin coasters either - I rode Maverick and thought it was just fine...I would rather hit my head on a restraint than hit heads with the person sitting next to me or wind up with whiplash.
  20. I wish they would have thrown in an airtime hill or two in those two straight-aways (like the last one on Maverick) in the RR section...that is unless they're still hiding something and just put a straight-away in the preview video.
  21. The tower element looks dumb to me, the only reason I can appreciate is because I'm sure it will increase capacity - otherwise the space could be used much better; so far I am still extremely excited for this ride, and it will probably blow most coasters in Florida out of the water.
  22. If you ask me that looks like a top hat in the distance...perhaps in the Rhino Rally area? Maybe my eyes are just tricking me into believing my wishful thinking. EDIT: I'm referring to the picture on what for me is page 74, with the "vertical section" behind the tree...conveniently the picture did not re-post itself when I quoted Steve.
  23. WOW! This looks phenomenal...I really hope it does incorporate a lot of quick changes of direction like on Maverick in some point during the ride; from what I can see in this video it looks like it is mainly about speed, which makes sense given the theme, and that is certainly alright with me. I can't wait to see more because this ride is going to be soooo SICK!!!
  24. I saw Jose Canseco at BGT back in the late 90's and Dan Patrick on the Disney Boardwalk probably 10 years ago. I also saw NSYNC performing outdoors at City Walk at Universal Orlando, when City Walk was brand new - and it was a free event. That was after a day at IOA when they had their soft-opening, which, I kid you not, was the day they were filming on The Incredible Hulk for the movie House on Haunted Hill. I was furious that the Hulk was closed the whole day, and even more furious when I found out that if I had been there at the opening I would have possibly gotten to ride it 14 times in a row while they filmed. I missed Will Smith by a day when M.I.B. opened at Universal Orlando
  25. Wow, this ride is going to be insane. We're looking at the future best coaster in Texas by far, and I feel that I can safely say that with only looking at a small portion of the ride.
