  1. Perfectly normal! It took me a lot longer to get comfortable with drop towers than rollercoasters, and I still get a little bit nervous when riding if I haven't been on one in a while.
  2. Not surprising to see more of these rides popping up. Great reviews, small footprint and highly marketable with a very high "wow factor". Should be a great addition to LC!
  3. I'm planning a trip to Liseberg in the second half of August, either week 34 or 35 (park is open Thursday-Sunday these weeks). Anyone interested in a meetup?
  4. Will be interesting to see if it will be scrapped or relocated. I cannot imagine there being a huge demand for old standup coasters, but considering that SkyRider from Canada's Wonderland soon will re-open in Italy I guess anything is possible...
  5. I cannot think of a single defunct ride/rollercoaster I have been on that I miss. From the top of my head these are the now defunct rollercoasters I have been on (not counting those which have been relocated): - Sierra Tonante - Gwazi - Great American Scream Machine SFGADV - Rolling Thunder And probably some kiddie coasters.... I think my ride on Great American Scream Machine may have been the least terrible, but it was only one ride and it was back in 2008 so honestly I cannot remember much of it.
  6. ^I must say that I have seen prettier colour schemes, that's for sure! It seems like they really like single-coloured rollercoasters at Belantis, Huracan is all red and Drachenritt also looks like it has the same colour for for track and supports. I guess every time they build a new coaster they look for what paint is on sale...
  7. How'd you know that? Any renderings, 3D simulations? ^The original concept art showed a double corkscrew. Look at the picture at the bottom of this page http://www.coastersandmore.de/previews/speedmonster/speedmonster.shtml It even says "4 times upside down".
  8. Awesome pictures! Great to hear it rides as great as it looks, hope I can make it over to Finland again some day...
  9. Wild Train @ Erlebnispark Strasswalchen (now Fantasiana). The most violent ejector airtime I have ever experienced!
  10. Lol is this the longest it has ever taken to do a trip report on TPR?? Anyway, I enjoy reading it very much! I haven't been to Gröna Lund since 2011, but I can safely say I have not experienced anything like Insane in those four years... Oh and Ikea is always fun. I'm fortunate to have Norways largest Ikea only 15 minutes away!
  11. Backseat on Kumba is a must! For SheiKra I would do front row first just for the view , then go for the back row for a better drop sensation.
  12. Well SpinSpider, the Zamperla frisbee at Tusenfryd still hasn't opened for the season due to long lead time for spare parts from supplier. It's 2 months since the park opened. I guess with 2 frisbee rides they will always be able to have one ride open...
  13. ^It would have taken me longer if I hadn't read the description under the picture...
  14. The projection mapping looks fabulous indeed, love the effect with the paint peeling off the wall.
  15. At first glance I thought this was a picture of the real coaster, took me a couple of seconds to realize it was not. Well done, keep it up!
  16. Definitely looks like it could cause some arm-brusing unless you keep your elbow close to your body. Looking forward to the reports on how it is to ride. I have never seen this amount of enthusiasm for an SLC opening, one of the very first ones even. But if it's able to satisfy the GP (and maybe some enthusiasts even) I guess it's money well spent...
  17. ^ Haha I didn't notice that. That is funny indeed!
  18. Just played through the classic House of the Dead 1, 2 & 3 arcade shooters. Great fun!
  19. I remember after Balder opened I was sure we would see clones appear, considering the great ride it delivers in a small footprint.
  20. Coaster looks like such an innocent ride... incredible how it can provide such a crazy experience! (haven't been on it myself, but I trust your reviews ) Haha that is an awesome picture!
  21. Waterskiing zombie and burning zombie on a jetski? That is so amazingly awesome!! Cool trip report! Good to hear that Expedition GeForce lived up to your expectations. I really have to get down to Germany some day...
  22. Watched San Andreas last night and was pleasantly surprised. Sure this was helped by the fact that my expectations before the movie were low. Yes, the storyline is ridicilous and extremely over-the-top, but when you go to see a distaster movie you go to see massive destruction, and this movie definitely has a lot of it! I also watched Jurassic World two weeks ago. I thought the movie was good entertainment for a saturday evening, but nothing memorable. The CGI was well done, I liked the references to the first movie (like the scene when Claire lighted the flare to make the T-Rex follow her) and I also thought the trained raptors were cool. Unfortunately I found the overall experience and characters to be somewhat lacking, and found myself not caring for a single one of them. I just wish they could make a JP movie without annoying kids... Oh, and a single teenage operator on the gyrosphere ride?? Did they create that scene just to annoy us?
  23. ^This! I'm sure it will ride great, but it is faaaaaaaaar from pretty. Also has there been much negativity when it comes to how the ride experience will be? I haven't really seen much... The theming may not be finished until next year, but there isn't a whole lot they can do with that support structure. Maybe that could put up some banners like on Cheetah Hunt? That might look cool...
  24. Cool trip report, thanks for sharing! I really like how the various rides and rollercoaster supports are painted to look like wood, really nice touch!
