Isnt that the case with all Morgan hypers?? Judging from onride videos, it seems like all of them except Phantoms Revenge slows down alot before the final hills (Mamba, Steel Force, Steel Dragon,etc...)

Do you scream on roller coasters?
viking86 replied to Thrillrider15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I dont scream, but I usually say "Wow!" or something like that if Im on a good ride! -
Efteling Discussion Thread
viking86 replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Damn that ride looks fantastic! I knew the theming would be great after hearing all sorts of great things about other rides at Efteling, but this is way better than I had expected. And the ride itself looks very fun too. -
I dont mind if some people are screaming on rides because they are either afraid or just having very fun. But I cant stand when young teenage girls are screaming like crazy as the train slowly rolls out of the station towards the lifthill. It was awful at Thorpe park last summer, especially in the station on Colossus. With the park absolutely packed and extreme heat I feel very sorry for the ride-ops that day. I hope they had earplugs because the noise was awful.

Im not an expert, but I dont think its any harder on the wheels than ejector airtime (but that probably is a bit hard on the wheels). And from what I have heard, you can feel that the drop is beyond vertical on these coasters. But I havent ridden any so this is based on others opinions. -
Coaster Enthusiasts Clubs
viking86 replied to Eagle Rider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have been a member of ECC for 3 1/2 years now and like others have already mentioned, First Drop magazine is fantastic with lots of great articles and ride reports as well as many excellent pictures. Its also fairly cheap so I would say that the magazine alone is worth the costs of being a member. Cant comment on any of the other clubs as ECC is the only one Im a member of. -

Plus, it depends where you come from. There are regions where anything below 300m (~1000ft) is just another "hill". And what's "10-20 meters" (~30-60ft.) then? redunzelizer, waiting for them Norwegians to build the ultimate "Fjord Dive Coaster"! They shoud build a B&M Dive machine off this cliff http://www.norphoto.com/r/nor3499.php -

Yeah I know its not on a flat piece of land, but compared to many other coasters the location isnt that interesting. -

^And because it doesnt really do anything special and the location is a just a flat piece of land. -

Excellent trip report! Sounds like you had a blast. I rode the Starflyer in Prater park last summer and it was a fantastic ride. Best ride in the park in my opinion. I did not expect the up-down-up-down-up-down part either, it was awesome

Funky Boomerang Trains....
viking86 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I might be wrong, but isnt that the first Boomerang with magnetic brakes? Im pretty sure I read that somewhere. -
I visited a few parks in Italy this summer with the European Coaster Club. Canevaworld, Gardaland and Mirabilandia. The movie part of Canevaworld was pretty cool, but very small. The X-area was also really crappy. It wasnt hard to see where they ran out of money. The waterpark part was huge with many cool slides, but it was a bit too crowded for my taste. Gardaland was probably the best overall park with fantastic theming and atmosphere, but unfortunately the rollercoasters there were very average. Still I really enjoyed the entire day in the park as well as a few hours the evening before. It looked amazing at night. That park also has the best kiddie-area ever Mirabilandia was also a pretty good park. Katun was amazing! The park also had a great stunt show and some water rides that really made you soaked!

Whats the most involving coaster area?

Kanonen @ Liseberg The queue line is right in the middle of the twisted mess -
Pinfari 42 VS Vekoma SLC.
viking86 replied to krouvi's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My first non-kiddie coaster was a Pinfari 42 that came with a fair. Very intense coaster, but unfortunately too rough to enjoy. I have only been on 2 SLC's. The first one was Tizona @ Terra Mitica in 2003. I thought it was a very enjoyable ride, but I wouldnt bee surprised if it has gotten rougher now. The soft padding on the restraints probably helped alot. The other one was Blue Tornado @ Gardaland last summer, which was pretty bad. I wont say it was painfull, but it definately wasnt comfortable. The only smooth part was the extra helix. -
Which is worse, Arrow or Vekoma?
viking86 replied to MLRC7 CP's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Loopen is painful? You gotta be kidding me! Well maybe the front seat is, but ride it in car 5 or 6 and it isnt painful at all. My neck wasnt even close to hitting the restraints once. -
Coaster Roughness
viking86 replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You can have perfectly smooth coasters that are not heartlined. They might be throwing the passengers around a bit more, but I wouldnt call it rough. Just look at this picture http://www.yeah7.com/photos/2005/vidampark/imagepages/image54.htm Does it look heartlined? No. Is it rough? Not even close! -

Your 2005 Year In Review!
viking86 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
--Your 2005 year in review: Started the season with a trip to Liseberg in May with the Norwegian Coaster Club and had a fantastic time with some great people. In July I visited Thorpe park followed by a one week trip to Hungary, Austria and Italy with the European Coaster Club. Easily my best trip ever. I ended the season with a small trip to Tusenfryd in the beginning of September. --Your first coaster of the year: Balder --Your last coaster of the year: Cant remember if it was Thundercoaster or Loopen --Best new steel to me: Katun, with Wild Train @ Erlebnispark Strasswalchen coming in a very close second. --Best new wood to me: Balder --Best new flat ride to me: Starflyer @ Prater followed by Slammer @ Thorpe --Best new water ride to me: I really liked the rapids in Mirabilandia as you get absolutely soaked on it. --Best new dark ride/walk through to me: The ENORMOUS boat ride underneath the pirate ship in Gardaland --Best new water park attraction to me: The Black Hole @ Canevaworld. It was spinning like crazy and it was absolutely pitch black in there. --Best new park to me: I want to say Gardaland because of the fantastic atmosphere in the park, but the rides there were very average so Im saying Liseberg. --Best park "moment" of the year: ERS (or ERT as some prefer) on Wild Train with a crazy park manager. --Best overall park "trip" of the year: Coaster Rhapsody trip with ECC to Hungary, Austria and Italy --Worst new attraction (any kind) to me of the year: Volare @ Prater --Best event at a park: ERS on Wild Train --Best non-event day at a park: Prater after we were done with our Adventur Tour. The place was HUGE with so much to do and the atmosphere was fantastic. --Best non-park related moment of the year: When I got my first car a month ago --Favorite TPR post/thread of the year: Too hard to only pick one so I pick the updates from Robb and Elissa's coaster trips. --Best Amusement related news of the year: Speedmonster --Worst Amusement related news of the year: Tusenfryd is still far away from where I live --Ride that I had to rethink my opinion of in 2005: Thundercoaster. Not as rough as I remembered, but even slower. --Hopes for 2006: That Speedmonster will kick as much ass as it looks like it will -
Do you like RCT3
viking86 replied to petercoti's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I think RCT3 is a very fun game and you can make some very beatiful things with it using terrain and scenery. But IMO RCT2 is the best game in the RCT series.
