Video and Question about 4K HDTVs!
Midgetman82 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. Do you have a 4K HDTV? Yes/No (If no, jump to question #6) Nope. I don't really have the money for it, and even if I did, it wouldn't be very high on my list of things to get. 6. If you don't have a 4K HDTV, how important is it to you to get one? Not very. I hardly watch any TV nowadays, so don't really care for getting one. As for computer screens, I'm quite settled on large 1080p displays (and on seeing/providing content that works better for 1080p and mobile viewers) at the moment. I like higher frame-rate content more than higher resolution content, anyways, but that's just a personal preference. 7. If you were to buy a new HDTV, what feature would be more important to you? 3-D or 4K? Or both or neither? 4k, definitely. 3D is a neat feature on only certain things if done effectively, but why waste money on something that has few content out there to see it with? Of course, that would change with more content providers providing more 3D content to view... but I digress. -
Beech Bend Discussion Thread
Midgetman82 replied to Jonathan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Personally, I think this is a step-up from the dragon coaster that was there. Something new and fresh to replace something old, and something that has a twist (pun intended) to it. -
^He's probably the most openly biased RCT player on YouTube ( ). His bar was set pretty low thanks to mobile, so you can probably guess his thoughts on World, but he does make some good points throughout the video. One of those things include his notes about "realism" saying that unless they have the budget of a AAA game studio, certain developers (including Atari with RCT) should stay away from it.

I built the alpine coaster in my now larger-than-life park. Also, I'm finally experiencing lag as well as game crashes with this park in particular... I could only guess why. North side Alpine coaster is the tiny track in the top-left within the dense forested area. Alpine coaster zipping along I made a little separate station since guests couldn't exit until they made it to the end. All of the guests seem to slow down as much as each other, but the weird thing I'm noticing is that an empty sled will run full-speed down the course. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KL2I5tlxQw8

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
Midgetman82 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Since its 2015 and everything is "offensive" or "culturally insensitive", I don't see St Patrick's Day happening From that type of thinking, the Thanksgiving area should be completely changed to something different! -
I was crazy about these toys as a kid, probably because I pretended the big toy tracks were roller coaster tracks. And now, they're finally picking up on this?! They look pretty cool, I must say!

Somewhat following KyKingdomMike's template... 10-31-15 - Halloween Day! Mark Brunner Storm Chaser Photos on Facebook Mark Brunner Storm Chaser Photos on Facebook mobile "Getting more ledgers set." "the entrance into the stall turn. it will be a quick transition." "Closer view of the transition." "Yes you will be upside down here." From the looks of the photos, it seems they've started prep work to install track after the airtime hill starting from the first big overbank, all the way to where Top Eliminator Dragsters' area is. Take note of how close to being inverted it is!

Strongest/Most forcefull Launch
Midgetman82 replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dodonpa looks frightening, but I'd do it... TTD tops my list for strongest launch. First time on it was front row with my oldest brother. He later told me he was never prepared for it to be that strong! (I bought the ride photo right after!) Second place goes to Rock n' Roller Coaster, then (surprisingly) Thunderbird. Honorable mention goes to Backlot Stunt Coaster considering it gradually gets stronger the further down the launch strip the train progresses. -
First Defunct B&M?
Midgetman82 replied to 11slataus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Same here. I was pretty surprised to see photos of parts show up at a scrap yard, including the trains! My initial thought was "how could they?!?!" But then I think back to the complaints I hear of the ride having a bad rattle and being a little rough in some seats. Plus, if they're doing anything with the launch system (especially after Thunderbird's success), then I'd bet it's because the park is sick of having to replace all those tires! Who said the new trains had to have OTSR? No one- just saying that the First-Gen trains that Hulk ran are preferable to the Second-Gen trains found on Wildfire, and if it's between the two, I'd rather they stick with what worked well all this time. Yeah, I have to agree. I don't like the idea of Hulk without OTSR. Just...no. Vest restraints? Sure! Overhead lap restraints, plus the ride following the same course as before...? Maybe. -
Where Are You Going in 2016?
Midgetman82 replied to ytterbiumanalyst's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Definitely: -Kentucky Kingdom -Holiday World Most Likely: -Kings Island Maybe: -Dollywood -SeaWorld Orlando The top three are my usual regional hits, with Kings Island being a minimum once a year trip if life allows it. I no longer have an excuse to not visit Dollywood and need to make plans to visit there sometime next year. Gotta see if my car is up for that far of a drive first, but it is hot on my radar as "must-visit-ASAP." Orlando is a relatively easy place for me to fly to, so I might have a chance at popping into Orlando for SeaWorld (Mako! ). Also, I'm very surprised at seeing how many people now feel the need to make an expedition to Dollywood next year for their first times! It'd be icing on the cake if it was a full-out TPR event sometime in the summer! -

While not defunct, is The Incredible Hulk Coaster the first to have its track and trains scrapped? -

This was originally made on my Macbook using bootcamp to run a Windows parallel. After my laptop crashed and had to be wiped, the original coaster (along with another I was working on...) was wiped with it. Skip to this year, I got a PC desktop and immediately put NoLimits 2 onto it. I re-downloaded my coaster and made a video out of it, so those of you who don't have NL2 can also experience it. Saving places / re-entering the line
Midgetman82 replied to LuminousAphid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I see the bathroom problem happen pretty often in at Kentucky Kingdom. Some people feel like they can jump out, use the bathroom, and hop back in with their friends who saved their spot. Only twice have I ever seen others raise hell about it, but every other time people have been okay with just one person in a group of, say, 4+ people who do it. I'm not exactly for it, because I can't see why people can't stop to take breaks in between hopping on rides. I did witness a line ejection for the first time the last time I was at the park. Two teenage girls cut a huge portion of the line at T3 and thought they would get away with it. Some time passes before we're all in the station, and I spot a security guy stationed on the exit platform who waited until the queue gates opened before traversing through the line and past me to confront the girls and escort them out. -
My thoughts exactly. If it ends up being excellent, then I guess I'll have to live without the pre-order panda and pay full price when its out. Otherwise, I'd sure be kicking myself if I dropped $50 on a game that ended up bombing. Comparing that to the £19.99 (roughly $30) on Planet Coaster makes it tempting to support the latter, but I'm still holding the same standards until we get to see more from them too.

^^^Just my two cents, but you should really consider putting a forewarning before linking to such images. I'm certain 'you know the rules, and so do I.' Apart from that, seeing the roll head-on makes it look like it'll have some very strange zero-g sensations depending on how high people sit above the tracks. I can already picture a train full of people with their hands straight up!

Darien Lake and Six Flags America. Both need new coasters... not hand-me-downs. Oh when oh when will a U.S. park buy a megalite? I will move right next door to it. Probably comes down to marketability. It's even difficult to advertise (or convince) Lightning Run as an extreme coaster to certain hard-headed people.
