  1. ^ Cool, looking forward to it. I wish we could be there.
  2. I don't want to step on anyone's toes if there will be coverage of this event tonight. But, there is a live stream on facebook from a local Fla TV station of tonight's " A Frozen Holiday Wish " castle lighting ceremonies for any of you Disney Castle or Frozen fans. The live stream starts at 8:10 pm tonight. Here's the link for more info - http://wfla.com/2017/11/09/tonight-watch-a-frozen-holiday-wish-castle-lighting-live-from-walt-disney-world/
  3. ^ ^ Nope. Earlier this summer, Roar wanted to spritz itself up and applied liberal doses of Sun-In on to get that nice summer bleach blond look on.
  4. ^ Just a side note to say, I visited the Bay Area recently and was truly shocked that drivers actually paid attention to crosswalks. It took me a while to get used to the fact that I actually had the right of way, walking, in a crosswalk. In most parts of the US a crosswalk means- make the sign of the cross when trying to get to the other side and hope you make it.
  5. ^ Oh tell me. Even living in West Central Florida, with so many choices, it's getting really expensive and hard to decide where to spend the few precious dollars. I know there's the resident discounts but yikes, with Disney, Universal, Busch, Sea World and even now 2 Fun Spots, not to mention the water parks of Disney, Uni, Busch and Sea World, it is mighty dang expensive. They are all so good, but now I hear that song in my head from Pamela Stanley, that goes something like, So many parks, so little time, how can I choose?
  6. Wow. Nothing about that park looks appealing. The closed for the season water park looks abandoned and neglected, as well as the one operating ride side. Pretty depressing looking.
  7. Log Flumes, mimics, not real, just fun. Rapid rides, rapids, not real, just fun, Space Mountain, dark and empty voids not really in space, just fun. These rides mimic the real thing, excite the imagination and are what rides are all about. Just fun.
  8. Um, okay. Another ride simulator. Moving on now.
  9. I used to work on repair/maintenance of metal detectors. The sensitivity levels are set per the users standards. Ie, a courthouse has a much higher setting than say, a Chuck E Cheese. There are other variables too such as being able to mask metal objects so what may not have passed once will pass the next time. (again, sensitivity levels) Another factor is that the detectors do need to be regularly recalibrated. Again, that depends on the users needs of how secure and how often they need or want it to be. Basically a courthouse wants tight limits whereas an amusement park generally would have a more relaxed standard.
  10. Someone better be ready to call 911 when Coasterbill sees that pic.
  11. So cool. A place i am so sorry I missed a few years ago in the early spring when they were not open. Coaster looks so awesome . Right up my alley ride. Bucket list for sure. Night rides on a mostly unlit woodie ? Oh heck yes. Marathon time !
  12. Okay, that's actually pretty cute. I couldn't imagine from the original pic what that might be. I was thinking along the lines of a gross out candy or something. Kind of like "Dingle Bearies" Yeah a real thing. (googling that brings up a candy store that carries all sorts of oddly named candies)
  13. ^ when we stayed at the Breakers, we also booked early and did the payment plan. So nice knowing that when we got there the only thing left to pay for was for "the goodies" Made for a carefree vacation. With all the perks and advantages of staying on site, we had no regrets either. Sort of like staying on site at Disney, you really get lost in the fantasy world of the park for a few days.
  14. Looking forward to the pics. However, not so sure of seeing your tour of that stuff at the bottom of the pic, called "Cat Butt"?
  15. Another Screaming swings fan here. However I like the 2 passenger per side versions, ie funspot. Low capacity but boy do you feel like you are hung out there.
  16. Oh yeah, at 102 there ain't enough WD-40 in the world to stop them old bones from a creakin. Glad I am back and making up for lost time a'riding. (edit to add) Hopefully Mr M kicks it too. Too many coasters out there waiting to ride.
  17. Mine Blower. And yes, this coaster will blow your mine (d). Air time heaven, laterals heaven, non stop, no breaks once you leave the lift chain. Pure Coaster Nirvana.
  18. This is a little short on pics, but boy oh boy do I love Funspot. The staff is great and really wowed us several times. Our extended weekend started out with going to Orlando's Pride Fest Weekend. Friday we got to party with Ultra Nate backstage, and wow is she cool and does she have a ra..., sorry, I'll stop. ( pics if you want). So yeah, there was a parade etc etc on Sat, but the real fun was on Sunday. Stopped for brunch and bloody Mary's at the Hammered Lamb, ( oh wow) Then headed to Funspot in Kissemmee. Driving down I-4 passing White Lightning in O Town was tough but we had bigger fishes to fry, namely Mine Blower. Mind you, I haven't done many parks this year as I had 2 heart attacks and under went surgeries twice this year. I was dying to ride coasters. My Doc gave me the all clear and I was ready ! Now here is where we get to the awesomeness that is FunSpot. We get to the gate and we had 2 passes we bought back in 2014 for their anniversary celebration for 15 bucks. Didn't think they would be good, but, Surprise, they honored them ! Got our arm bands and rushed to Mine Blower and found, what? the line was down the stairs onto the midway. Holy Toledo, a line? Thanks to, here's the 2nd wow, the crew was pumping like crazy. We had a 3 train wait that only took minutes. That crew was hauling. Get in, pull down, check and out the door ya' go. They might even try to beat Knoebs loading, sorta. Mine Blower, like Coasterbill and XViceandvirtues said, this coaster will blow your !!! Ho;y Cow Is it amazing. Not rough, just waayy waayy intense. Rode every seat front to back. WOW. Then we rode next the other new hotness, HeadRush 360. OMG, I didn't think I could handle it, but I loved it ! Long story short, had so much fun, got a cheapy room next door so we cold stay all night. Had dinner and went back for more rides. Rode MB 10 times, Rockstar coaster 6 times, tilt a whirl, yo yo and other flats. Seeing as we got the deal on the ride bands we also had "several" adult bevs, munchies, bought a on ride pic and , my fave to leave by, cotton candy. At 15 to midnight my hubs found out why they call a ride a spin and puke. We had one last ride on 360 and thankfully he made it to the bushes. Hehe. I still got 1 more ride on MB tho. If anyone has the chance, Mine Blower is a must do. So now a few pics. Freaky furry for Rob at Pride gotta have your nutrients first Midway looking good Blurry but cool Station Sky Coaster lit at night Giant wheel Rising pumpkin monster by tilt a whirl
  19. I wish I lived closer to enjoy their next public day, Oct 8. It's only 12.50 to get in and it includes free parking, free soft drinks ,cotton candy, popcorn and sno cones. Wow. Plus they sell adult beverages too.
  20. Um, the fried jello, meh. I think I'll stick to Jello shooters. Cheaper and much better for you. ( they're not fried) Like seeing the animals at a fair too as I used to show horses at the fairs. Looks like you're having fun. Must be nice to be so close.
  21. I like the Halloween events. BGT is my home park. I get there early and do the houses before the crowds get there. This give me time to enjoy very short lines , sometimes walk ons and rerides, for night rides on some great coasters , a few adult beverages, while everyone else is standing in 1 to 2 hour lines for a house. Nothing better than riding Montu, Sheikra or Kumba at 1 or 2 in the morning.
  22. ^ Phoenix is also very sneaky if you are a first time rider. I had my hands in the air for the pleasant first drop. The kid/young adult , behind me laughed and said, you won't have your hands in the air much longer. He was right. Phoenix just keeps getting crazier as it goes on, right to the very end.
  23. All of that sounds cool except for #3. Feeding the birds is A-OK, but, oh no, really. ugh.
