  1. ^ aw why not, jesus turned water into wine ?
  2. My Lard, what the heck is that monstrosity ? ( excuse me if I'm not up on the latest cartoons, but that is scary)
  3. The only thing that keeps Knoebels from being my top of the world, OMG I want to live there park, is that I can't enjoy a beer with those to die for pierogies. But then again, there's always a way around that.
  4. Oooh, yum. Food and wine. Did I ever pick a good weekend to come up from Fla to go to KD. The 20th or 21st.
  5. It looks like a wonderful trip, but can we address the white elephant in the room? I would love to go to UAE , but as a gay couple, same sex relations are punishable with up to 10 years in prison there. Wonderful looking places that look like a lot of fun, but not worth risking our lives for. Maybe one day it will become a welcoming place.
  6. You really need to check out Conneaut's Blue Streak. It is a short detour to CP and directly on the route from Waldemeer to Kennywood. An arm band only costs 5 bucks, or ten, but you will never forget your experience. The wall of gum dark ride, priceless. The coaster, Oh Boy. We were in line for the front seat. The Beautiful classic NAD train rumbled in and as the train stopped, the seat fell onto the floor of the car. Everyone else loaded but we pointed to the operator and asked if the front seat was actually in use. He looked at us like we were crazy and said of course it is. We pointed and said, but the seat is on the floor of the car? He walked over, picked it up, put it in place, I guess, and said, there you go. Seeing as I like front or back seats, I said, Oh what the hell, if I die, this is the way to go. Off we went. Every time there was air, The seat kept flying forward. We didn't know when our butts sat back down if there would be a seat or not. I would say, it is the best classic scary coaster out there today. You really have to experience it. Oh the memories. ( I would do it again in a heartbeat)
  7. ^ but the "airtime hill of death" is the most memorable and best part of the ride.
  8. Um, I'll just leave this one.
  9. It is about 2.5 hours travel time in good traffic at best. The mouse in a box is really quite fun and feels much different than a standard mouse. Noah's Ark , Kangaroo, Bayern Kurve, The flume , and not to be missed in any way is Black Widow. Tough call to try and do both in 1 day. I have always had a good time with a full day at KW.
  10. ^ Not at all. In fact, you probably gained more respect from others.
  11. ^ Plus it's just a , ahem, fun spot for us locals to drop in for a quick coaster fix without spending a day or fortune.
  12. I would love to ride Heidi , with the wood structure and compare it to White Lightning at Fun Spot Orlando, with the steel structure. Just to see if there is any difference in how the two ride. Well, and just to go to Plopsaland. Cool pics.
  13. OMG ! As if bacon on a stick isn't enough, Pork Chop, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut on a stick !!!!! If for no other reason (except Phoenix) to make a 1,000 mile trip this year.
  14. Chinese knockoff rides and coasters coming to a park soon ?
  15. Same trains? Making sure they pound the VR experience into your head.
  16. Is there nothing Knoebels doesn't do right ? They even know how to do pics of "theme parks and coasters in the snow" right!
  17. Screeeching Eagle was so much fun. As was their really scary fast, almost tip over Whip ride. Shame they couldn't stand their own against Kings Island as the relaxed family park.
  18. Magic balls says, considering Olivia did this in 1980, I say Xanadu.
  19. I'm sorry, but this thread would be so much better if there were pictures of the paint schemes. Words are fine, but a picture is worth a thousand words.
  20. ^ there's a taco stand in frontier town near the museum and not as far as the old chik filler. (now frontier Inn? ) that makes a pretty good stuffed burrito. It was pretty cheap by CP standards, 6.99 I believe, and we split it in half for lunch and were quite full. It may have been called Los Gatos Cafe? Pretty hard to find but worth it for the price and quality.
  21. I never knew Dorney could look so beautiful.
  22. What Coasterbill says. The Super 8 in Danville is about the closest. Easy drive to the park from there and the hotel is pretty much ok. When we stayed at the Super 8 there was some kind of monster truck rally or somthinoranother going on in the area and the crowd at the hotel was, um, well, interesting.
  23. Go during the week in mid to late August. We went 2 years ago the last week of 10 pm closing, schools in Ohio were in session, and the park was actually pretty slow. (we spent 4 days there). Didn't need fast pass at all. However, Beware The Weekends! We left from the Breakers on Saturday morning and the line of cars backed up on the Causeway, waiting to get into the park, was backed up onto the main road. That's like how many miles? Yikes, we thought and felt sorry for anybody who went there that day.
  24. Kangaroo is a do not miss ride. It is so much goofy fun. Don't miss Noahs Ark and Bayern Kurve. Also the Whip at Kennywood is better than Knoebels. You will probably find that you'll spend the whole day there.
