  1. ^Well, here's to hoping that you can't pull it off in two weeks. This is pretty much as good as it gets from me.
  2. Yeah, I realized that. I was just stating what to do if the drop wasn't parallel to the view.
  3. ^Those methods would be impossible if the view wasn't parallel to the drop. If the coaster started with a lift, then 60-degree turn, then drop, then the side views would be inaccurate. I'm not exactly sure how you could calculate that, but you could start with highlighting the drop segment, copying the length, then making two straight supports that complete a right triangle at the same overhead angle (60-degrees) and recording those lengths to find a tangent or something of the like. It's like making your own plane. Other than do-it-yourself-math, there's no way to calculate the angle of a NoLimits coaster drop.
  4. ^Ahaha, that's a problem! Didn't think about different skin colors...(comes to show that Microsoft is probably like 99% white employees, or they would have spotted this...or maybe they're just racist). Go ahead then. Well...it's a video game...it's not real.
  5. ^Yeah, I could care less too.
  6. ^Nope, I still have time! *fortunately* You had me scared there!
  7. ^You're actually correct on that...some rides (namely, the Intamin hypers as well as Mega-Lites) have some 0.5G laterals on hilltops to get specific shapes. However, on Il Pitone, I didn't do any lateral G insertions (or even Timewarping), because it was unnecessary. Usually you don't have to do Timewarping because Quintic gets the job done, but there are those times of trouble in finding a transition type (and Timewarping lets you make one). Oh, and here are some pictures to show that I'm actually still working on this. And no, this environment won't be used in the final download.
  8. ^Except, unfortunately, the only way to get attention is to not sticky this topic. No [new posters] read the stickies.
  9. http://forum.nolimits-exchange.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=790&page=1#Comment_15785 I'm not finished yet!...
  10. Well, you might be low on contestants: - One week is far too short of a time period to make a decently good coaster. - There are already two other contests running as of right now. [just sayin']
  11. "N00bly constructed" means that the creator just took a section of track in Newton and twisted it to resemble a shape. They left the [most important part], the positive forces, alone. No airtime was factored in at all. In a loop, you experience near 0G moments (like 0.5) and in corkscrews you feel near 0.7G. This has to be plugged into Newton, or you get a super-snappy twist that goes 3G throughout the entire thing and feels like a sudden twirl. If you ride the coaster yourself you can see this, and how this is very unrealistic. No coasters do this type of maneuver because if you combined the high positive G's with the rotational G's caused from the overly tight twist, you'd get your neck snapped off (not really, but you see what I mean - whiplash). If only they were ride-able in real-life...they are fun to watch in NoLimits...but they are just terribly quick and unrealistic.
  12. Hmmm, if I *somehow* get done with Il Pitone before this competition is over, I'll be sure to hop right in! I love making unique elements (and the "Most Realistic Newton Contest" kinda hinders that), so this could be the chance to shine here! All entries look sweet so far!
  13. Whoa that was a cool ride! Even though it wasn't as realistic (the inversions were n00bily constructed), it was pulled off WAY better than other beginner Newton rides. It felt really cool and I loved the transitions, even if they weren't exactly Intamin style. Fun ride, I enjoyed it! http://forum.nolimits-exchange.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=790&page=1#Item_0 Just be ready to watch out for stiff competition! (if you've already seen the first batch of photos, scroll down for station progress)
  14. Whoa...I'll have to try and make an edited photo of my progress myself! You have me interested.
  15. lol I was always fascinated by Fantasia Special, and because people weren't accepting the triple corkscrew, I thought I'd link to a coaster (an Arrow, at that) that has one and is awesome. Now the triple corkscrew isn't so unrealistic anymore; it's been done!
  16. I love the triple corkscrew...it reminds me of the only existing one (also on an Arrow) on the coaster called "Fantasia Special". I LOVE the cafes' AND the carousels' structures! They are really complex and cool. Everything you showed is awesome so far. Keep it up!!
  17. It looks like horrible NoLimit-ing to me. Probably created by park reps instead of the company itself. I remember the iSpeed video being the same, so it's hard to take things accurately. The tunnel seems to be true though.
  18. I know this sounds really stupid, but what if the brakes system was living on Opposite Day? I mean, during the launch sequence they could have been closed (reason for not clearing the hill) and open on the way back (thus colliding the train). Some computer programming screw-up? Could be. Just thinking out loud though.
  19. Like everybody else said, there is no underbrush surrounding your forest foliage. Other than that, it's great, and I love the bright colors! They certainly spice up the landscape.
  20. ^Wow...that is epic. That's all I have to say. Anyway, here's my entering into the Newton2 contest here at TPR. The pictures make it look funny for some reason...maybe with the addition of supports the ride will look more realistic (most rides look strange without supports). Every Intamin Looper has to start this way! As well as follow with one of these! The sea serpent is new though...and hopefully a welcoming splash of originality. Can't forget the double-corkscrew! Or the numerous heartline rolls! Bonus one for funzies. Just like Colossus.
  21. Here's where I need you! I'm hoping that you can make me a station similar to Station 1 in your pictures for my Il Pitone coaster. I'm wanting that wooden style (because the coaster's name is "The Python" in Italian), but the coaster is an Intamin Looping Coaster, so it'll possibly require a different groove for the track to fit in. I would like for it to be in rustic wooden colors (grayish brown, not dark/wet brown). I sent you the file through a PM in case you want to carry this out. If you do this, I'd really appreciate it! EDIT: If you could include the queue and everything, that'd be super! Especially if you interacted it with the ride somehow.
  22. I'd skip FRAPS and just use the built-in NoLimits recorder. Besides, the NL Video Recorder creates better quality videos and the recording time doesn't have a 30-second time limit cap! As for Multi-Zone: if the turns are becoming too large then you're just prototyping one type of turn. It's hard to explain, but there are other ways to achieve new curves such as the turning hop or twisty (think Maverick's quick directional changes) as well as most, if not all inversions. It's hard to describe the location of the pumps, but I'll try to put something about that later if I can.
  23. Haha, I can tell this is a "make-it-up-as-I-go" ride. Very unique though; interested how you'll pull off the final package.
  24. Well, I just now created a full Intamin Looping Coaster track that I definitely like layout-wise! The trackwork has some slightly questionable sections concerning whether it's Intamin's style or not, but I think it's a very cool track and is very twisted. Now onto the supports.............*UGH*
